Very small "hole in the wall" type place but the food was amazing. I was visiting RGV for work and saw the good reviews and I'm so glad I decided to go. I have a mild allergy to raw onions and I can't ever have this dish out in restaurants since it's always included (understandable). The freshness and quality of food was fabulous. The young ladies serving and preparing were very friendly and welcoming, however, the wait time was a bit frustrating. There were 2 people in front of my husband and I, but it took about 30 minutes to finally sit and eat. I would suggest ordering ahead. Usually empty when I go. Food is okay. The fish could use some work. They always miss it..if they dont have mango they lack something else. Make sure you order WAY ahead of time. At least an hour or you will be waiting a VERY long time for your food. They definitely need to work on prep time because they take a while...If you're REALLY craving something different I would try this, but I would NOT recommend. The place is quiet..at least? They definitely need to update or modernize their posted menu. Poorly designed and not very user friendly. read more

Nothing but love and respect for these small family owned places and continuing supporting these establishments is very important but I was just shocked by low level of hygiene and cleanness. The gentleman was using this old towel to wipe the bottom base of the table when I arrived and he grabbed the " empty plate container " to write my order on it and he WAS NOT WEARING GLOVES and he PUT HIS ENTIRE HAND INSIDE THE " TO GO CONTAINER" and then at one points his hands were in HIS POCKETS and again NO GLOVES. Since there were people behind me and I didn't want to embarrass anyone , I told the lady who came to make the Ceviche to USE ANOTHER TO-GO Plate/Container without giving them any explanation but hopefully they realized that clearly I was just shocked and bothered by what I saw. The Ceviche is great but the place just doesn't look clean and after what I saw, I am not sure I will go back for a while but all the Power to them for having this place. Well folks, I finally made it back. In Yelp it said it closes at 5pm (they must've changed that since my last review). It was 420pm and I was in Brownsville so I called. They confirmed 5pm closing. So my ETA was 448pm and I made it at 445 hoping that they would serve me... It was SPECTACULAR! Yes, they dice the cilantro in front of you and mix it fresh. A ton of ceviche for $8 is amazing.
