This place is great! All food is fresh, the pricing is reasonable, and the portions are very generous--one order is easily enough for two people or two meals. You can order directly from the menu or customize: don't hold back--they encourage it! The restaurant is set up like a Chipotle--walk up to the counter and point/ask for whatever you want. Enjoyed the shrimp /avocado /purple cabbage/onion/ jalapeno ceviche... a lot. I had lettuce wrap instead of tortilla chips. The calamari was pretty bland. They were out of octopus. I'm really ignorant towards ceviche and haven't really eaten it but for me it was salty. I would have put 3 stars but didn't want to ruin their rating because I'm sure ceviche should taste salty? I love this place! This restaurant is like the Chipotle of Ceviche. You get to pick your protein as well as four sides and whatever sauce you want to add. If you chose one type of protein, the cost is about $9. Two kinds or protein increases the cost to about $11. Usually, you get to pick between mahi mahi and gulf coast shrimp, both of which are always fresh and delicious. As for toppings, there is a huge variety: cilantro, tomato, green onion, white onion, mango, pineapple, jalapeno, cabbage etc. Their toppings are always fresh, and they do a great job with seasoning of lime, salt, and pepper. They also give HUGE portions; it is definitely enough for two meals. And the best part is that it's technically carbohydrate free, so it's great for a healthier, lighter meal! (If you order the right toppings). Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at Ceviche Ceviche. This place is the best! Harlingen needed a place like this. The food is super fresh. The place is clean. Customer service is awesome. You can tell they take pride in serving fresh quality food. I wish I had known it was there a few months ago. Best part is it's healthy! I had the mix of mahi mahi with shrimp with red cabbage, cilantro, avocado and cucumber. I tried all the sauces. The cilantro pesto, creamy jalapeños snd chipotle were my favorites. Servings are huge. Two can eat from one but you won't want to share. As the restaurant has become more established, the service has dwindled. The wait can be long & there have been times where I've been ignored while the server begins working on a phone order. Rather than getting me, the only person in line, out the door. Portions have also become smaller compared to when they just opened. Fresh, made to order ceviche. Very filling and for the price I think it's a lot of food. The Peruvian is my favorite with extra habanero. We went to the one in Harlingen Tx. When we walked in we were next in line and stood there for 10 minutes. We were never acknowledged or even really noticed by the two young girls working there. The signs on the table said "Only two to a table" so I started pulling the chairs down at which time we were promptly told the dining room was closed. So we waited for our food. When we got the food home we opened up both containers and to our amazement one container had less that "Half" in what the other container had. I took a picture and tried to up load it but it kept crashing. I will attempt to upload tomorrow. I went to the companies Facebook page but it has had no activity since September last year. I also could not find a webpage for the company, which seems odd. I will be reaching out tomorrow to find out a number to the main office. read more
