I went to Tips-2-Toes yesterday to get a classic pedicure and SNS on my hands. The total came out to $71, I paid with my card but I tipped in cash. To my surprise, when I was checking my bank account today I notice my card was charged $87. This total is not accurate, and feel that an additional $16 was put on my receipt as a tip, and I also find it suspicious that I was not given a receipt​. Was in Charleston for a wedding and got an appointment a few hours before the wedding for a regular mani + pedi. Nail salon is on the second floor. The pictures on yelp make it look nicer than it is. Nice place! Once you brave heading upstairs to the unknown, you will realize that this place is quite popular. But they still got me in for a pedicure right away. Lots of color options. We went here for my wedding, the ladies were not talkative or nice. They didn't really listen and did what they thought was best, one girl even happened to spill my sisters water on her. The BEST service I've ever had. I came to visit my cousin and we decided to get our nails done, so we were nearby Tips-2-Toes. The place look very professional and the employees are very polite, luckily we were able to have the service right at the moment. We both got Tropical Pedicures (I'm very sure it's more than 45 mins) and we were very please after we got out of that place. I wish they have another salon like that in my town. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE Where to even begin with this place: They charged me over $50 dollars for a toe polish change and a gel polish change. Both ended up chipping after 3 days. 3 days is absurd. The place is not clean and they take advantage of the fact it's the closest nail salon to the college. Really disappointing and never going back again nor will I recommend this place to anyone. Don't waste your time and money. The same thing happened to my friend. When I called to let them know that I will be coming in to get them redone, as it has only been 3 days, all i heard was laughing on the phone and they eventually hung up on me. I came in for a pedicure and was seated right away. I chose a lavender pedicure from the menu of special pedicures. It was $40 but well worth the extras I received including an exfoliating scrub and refreshing mask. Because another nail salon in Charleston had double booked us and another group, I moved my appointments for nails before my wedding to Tip-2-Toes about a week out. They were incredibly accomodating, and we were even put upstairs with only our group for a majority of our appointment. The staff was kind and did a wonderful job! Quite literally the worst nail salon I have ever been to. Because I live downtown and this is one of the two only places near me, I have been forced to keep returning after every unsatisfying visit. I have been getting my nails done every two weeks for the last 5 years, and this place has no business running a nail salon when the majority of their employees can't do a half decent job. For example, recently, I had made an appointment (expressly saying I had limited time and they assured me I would be in and out no problem), went in and asked for an acrylic gel fill. Since I was pressed for time, the man doing my manicure then decided to skip acrylics without asking me and go straight to gel on my natural nail. Now, because Kardashians was on TV and my mind was preoccupied, I didn't notice until it was too late. Thinking once again, "maybe it'll be fine" I paid, left, and went about my day. I quickly realized how brittle and fragile my nails were now because of the lack of acrylic's. After just two days, three of my nails had broken in half and four were chipped or peeling. Very upset, I called and explained what had happened to Kim at Tips 2 Toes. She assured me they would redo them for me once I was back from my vacation. Five days after my manicure I returned to have them fixed, the same man as before sat down and tried to re-do them with acrylics. I hate to say, but the paint job was still nothing to be happy about. Then, they had the nerve to charge me full price FIVE days after I paid 42$ for the awful manicure and an over 20% tip. These manicures should last two weeks. When I tried to explain that I paid 50$ just five days ago for this set and they were ruined in TWO DAYS and that Kim had also offered to redo it no charge, she rudely turned away and muttered under her breath. I would rather spend an extra $20 ubering to another salon then ever have to deal with another Tips-2-Toes worker again. Oh- and while I was having my nails redone, another lady was furious that she had to pay 50$ for a half-ass pedicure and a horrible manicure, stating this is the worst nail place she'd ever been. I feel you. The nail ladies all talked trash about her after she left. Classy. read more

YAY FINALLY. I've always had a hard time finding a place that would take their time and care for the way my nails looked, without being crazy over priced. JACKIE did an awesome job, she did my almond shaped nail refill and a pedicure and i was so pleased. this is the best mani pedi I've had in awhile. she was so sweet and honestly was so concentrated on making my nails look perfect. will be going back every week. such a great staff! read more

I was sketched out by the creepy carpeted stairs, but the staff was very warm and welcoming. I was promptly seated in a pedicure chair.... Where I waited for 30 minutes. At that point, the nail technician finished with a client four seats down picked up his kit and sat down in front of me. He did not stop to clean his tools at all. Completely unsanitary!! This salon was recommended by our hotel and we were able to get an appointment the same day. The young woman who did my nails, Jazzmin, was lovely and did an excellent job. My nails look beautiful. But the salon was filthy. Dirt on the floor, chairs, walls, tables. The owner should be ashamed of the condition of this nail salon. Also, when another nail technician dropped his tools on the dirty floor, he picked them up off the floor and kept doing the pedicure on another woman. If I were her, I would have stopped him right then. This could be a great salon - and the workers are very nice - but the owner needs to clean it up and train the male technician on good hygiene. read more

I used to come to this place and now I'll never go back. The woman that worked on me was the greeter, assigned walk ins, answered the phone, picked a fight with a co-worker in the back room-- everything but doing my nails. When she did sit down for longer than two minutes, she ended up cutting my finger with an emory board because she was being so mindless. I didn't let her finish the job. She still charged me full price after all of that. I have no idea why I paid or even gave her that tip. Wish this experience didn't ruin it for me. read more

I went here a couple of weeks ago to have a manicure and pedicure. The manicure was great the guy did an excellent job and my nails were the perfect length! However the man who did my pedicure chopped my toenails really really short. All in all it was a good experience, but I would just stick to a manicure next time:) read more

This is a super cute nail salon (they also do waxings) in downtown Charleston that charges pretty affordable prices. I came into town wanting a mani/pedi so I found this place on a whim. To my surprise, it was very chic inside and my manicurist and pedicurist were very friendly and accommodating. Extra points for the parrafin wax at no added cost! They offer you wine and your choice of scented moisturizers for the pedicure so that was nice too. They also had a wide range of colors to choose from. I found Charleston to be a bit conservative so I wasnt sure if there'd just be a lot of pinks/whites to choose from, but the color I wanted was there: electric blue from the Tokyo OPI line. I've been to a lot of nice and not-so-nice nail salons before so I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was very pleased with my overall experience here. And for $42 for a mani/pedi, I think it was worth every penny. read more

I was not impressed. I went with my friend to get SNS and the lady did not put the polish down to the bottom towards my cuticles. She put like 10 coats of different top coats and couldn't seem to get it right. While drying (which I've never had to do with SNS), the polish began to fade away and they claimed it was the humidity. They proceeded to put a gel polish ON TOP of all the coats they already did and when I got to my car, the gel was already chipping off. If you want a good nail salon - travel to Mt Pleasant!! This place was awful. I made appointments for myself and two friends and none of us were helped until almost 40 minutes after our scheduled appointment time. I understand salons can get busy but no one even said anything about having to wait. When I finally did get someone to do my pedicure they did an ok job. The painting was fine but my cuticles weren't cleaned very well and they weren't filed very evenly. In my opinion this place is way too expensive for the job and service they provide. read more

The place wasn't bad and the pricing is low to average. They offered us refreshments which is pretty unique for a nail salon. We went in a group and 3 out of 4 of us were fine with our nails. I had a lighter colored nail polish which can be difficult to do and my nail color still showed through after 3 layers, the color was uneven, and I had a few bubbles in one nail. If you find a person to do your nails that you like, I would suggest you stick with that person as it seems that the service can be hit or miss. I called this place 10 minutes before they were closing on a Sunday and they agreed to take me for a pedicure. Not only did they stay open late but they did an excellent job! Tiffany stayed almost an hour late and even though I was the last person there and they had already closed, she gave the best service and meticulously checked and perfected the nail color. Everyone there was incredibly friendly and helpful and the prices were great ($29 for a pedi). The place is also deceivingly big so would be good for groups. Tiffany is wonderful and I'd definitely go back to her again. Anyone that is willing to spend the extra time to make sure their customer gets good service is worth returning to. read more

My partner Gary and I were on a vacation in Mt. Pleasant, SC. and checked out Yelp for the best place to get a pedicure. Tips-2-Toes looked good and affordable so we scheduled an appointment for the next day and got the time we asked for. We were greeted by friendly staff and were immediately seated in the massage pedicure chair. I refused the massage as I had a treatment for vertigo a few days before and was advised not to do any abrupt movement. Gary loved the massage chair and said that alone was worth the $29, the price of the pedicure. A nice and humorous young man named Andy, who was recently married and working his way through an accounting degree at The College of Charleston, began working on my feet. He did a great job bathing, scrubbing, buffing and massaging my dried and cracked feet. He was very cautious of an area on the bottom of my foot that had split a week before and offerred sage advice on how to keep my feet moisturized and in better shape. Andy completed my pedicure with a French polish ($5 extra) and did an excellent job. Now, eight hours after our pedicures, Gary is still raving about how great his feet feel.
