The service was fantastic - she spent a lot of time on each foot and then gave a great massage and hot towel treatment. The spa is well lit, clean, and the massage chairs work beautifully. I was a little reluctant to try this place out based on the reviews but I was in the area and decided to take my chances. I had a bad experience at a nail salon in Summerville the day before and wanted to get my nails fixed. My young lady who did my nails was Vivian. She was friendly and super knowledgeable. I told her the issue with my nails (the gel was thick and looked lumpy). She proceeded to work her magic! She evened out the acrylic so it wouldn't look so thick. I got the exact same color and her application of the polish was great! The polish didn't look lumpy or caked on. I plan on going back! read more

I came from out of town and needed two nails repaired plus a refill. The tech was very unprofessional and she had no real skills. In Houston I get refills all the time with color powder. I'm so disappointed that I picked the raggedy ass spot! This lady did nothing but plop some gel polish on top of my color powder. She was suppose to drill my polish down and then paint my nails. There was no wait and the gentlemen that did my nails did a really good job. The facility was clean and the employees were very friendly. The prices were a bit pricey. I ask hum why? He says because of the shape, nowhere in the board does it say that. The place was clean, the people working there not very friendly, however, I was there to get my nails done, not make friends. So there you have it, $25 refill and close to the airport. I am happy with the way my nails look, but I think the guy just charged me extra as an extra tip to himself, although I tipped him anyways. He did not even say thank you! But my toenails ended up with an infection. I've never had one before and when I took the toenail polish off, it was clear something was wrong. Took forever for the damaged nails to grow out. Had an amazing experience. First and foremost they were upfront about the price and there were no hidden add ones. Some salons will add $5 here and there and not tell you afterwards. They charged what they said they would from the get go. I respect that. The lady who did my pedicure, Mary, was very kind and did a wonderful job. I didn't wear sandals, I work flats like a dummy and messed up my toes. I came back in and they fixed them for free and were super accommodating. DO NOT TRY IT! I found this place and decided to try it despite the low stars and it was a mistake. I walked in and they wouldn't listen to what I was saying. I got a pedicure and they are reasonably priced but they don't do most of what you come to get a pedicure for (remove dirt-not even a little, remove callouses, a massage). When he was painting my toes I'm pretty sure he put six coats of polish on if not more because he kept messing up the polish. I originally wanted to get my nails done but because my pedicure was such a terrible experience I decided to just get the polish on my nails removed. So when the man was finished with my toes (someone else removed the polish on my nails) he looked at fingers and laughed! I know my nails look rough (hence why I wanted to get a manicure) but I work with my hands so it natural for them to not look perfect. So once again, DO NOT TRY THIS PLACE! A male perspective is nice for a salon, right? My pedicure service was a total let down. For the prices they charge, I shouldn't have been in and out in less than 20 minutes. Totally not relaxing and very impersonal. I got the basic pedicure package. They were not busy or close to closing, but the whole thing was just rushed. I seriously felt like they judged me as an ignorant guy who wouldn't know what I was supposed to be getting with the service. The leg massage was less than 3 minutes combined, foot scrub didn't even begin to be relieving. I will give them credit for a clean establishment, which is important and often underrated. Pedicure was done very well. Fill in was also done well, the techician made sure my overlay wasn't too thick which I really appreciated. However, they are quite pricey compared to other nail salons I have been in. The three stars were given because I went there about an hour and a half before close on Friday, I ended up smudging a couple of nails and came back the following day to have them fixed. I will admit, I did smudge about 5 nails (lol long story), the same technician who did them the previous day fixed them and it was 8 dollars. Thought that was a little crazy since I've been to other salons where they charged me absolutely nothing to repaint nails but whatever. Update 6/2/14: Nails have been paint for a total of 2 days and they are already chipping. Typically it takes about 2 weeks before I notice chips. Definitely will not be returning. OMG! I paid LESS in Hawaii for 2 pedicures! My basic pedicure mediocre. I didn't get a massage with it, just got lotion smothered all over my legs & then wiped off with a soaked towel! My hubby's pedicure was pretty much the same as mine, just $10 more (he got deluxe). His towel was piping hot when they wiped his legs off, burning point hot! $74 w/ tip for 2 pedicures. I went today, a Saturday about 1 pm, and I was immediately greeted and seated. I do acrylic fill with gel color, and he said he could do that. I would not recommend Paradise Nails to anyone after my recent experience. I went in and asked for SNS dip and he immediately started on my nails without letting me pick a color making it extremely hard to go through all the samples. I picked a color that he said was available in both SNS and regular polish for my toes which after he started on my nails turned out wasn't. The nail tech immediately started dipping my nails without even giving them a manicure. When I asked him about cutting my cuticles he said he saves that for the end. He then proceeded to dip my nails and it wouldn't dry because he did not do it accurately so he made me get a pedicure while the dip was drying leaving pink dusk all over my hands which stained my clothes. The pedicure was great and done by a different gentleman that I would absolutely recommend. After my pedicure I was brought back to the same nail tech that did the first attempt at SNSand he finished and then cut my cuticles as I asked ( this have been done from the beginning). Once completed, I noticed my nails were matte which is not what I asked for and mentioned it to him. The nail tech then proceeded to put clear gel over my SNS dip and even had me put my hands under the LED light and now I have a weird mix of SNS and gel nails. To top everything off, he charged me an additional $17 for a manicure and said it was not included which I have never experience at any other nail salon. I will certainly not be going back to Paradise Nails after the experience I had. I believe the male nail tech that did my SNS/Gel mix manicure was the owner or at the very least a family member and was clear as day he was only focused on getting as many people in over the actual quality of their services. read more

We were visiting from Washington State and wanted to enjoy a mani pedi with my husband and two daughters. We went around 6pm, not knowing that they closed at 7pm. They were able to get us in and out with no problems. I was very happy with the service. The massage chairs weren't the best but I'll take any massage, anytime! The pedi was relaxing but they didn't do much of a massage on the calf which was a little disappointing. They wore gloves to apply lotion on the legs, rubbed it in an that was about it. I have never been here before and it was closest to my house, I am in a wedding Saturday and need to squeeze in my nails today. I had a very nice older gentlemen do my nails and from the start I realized it was not going to be my best experience. He was just not very meticulous and a little sloppy with the filing and cuticle removal. The gel polish was streaky and not clean around the edges. I complained while having my brows waxed (different guy and did an amazing job) and he told the owner who then redid my nails and they were perfect, clean, even and streak free, just what you would expect! His name was Kyle and he was great, recommend the business bc they took care of me and were very pleasant just do not recommend that older gentlemen in particular for gel manicures. The owners of this establishment are so nice. Don't let prior negative reviews fool you... they have so many nail polish selections and the salon is very big and beautifully maintained. Upon entering the salon, they offer you a selection of beverages including soda and wine. Mind you I have hoped around to many nail salons in Charleston/Mt.Pleasant area, for the price, this one is a certainly a really good find. Save your money! It took almost two hours to get a gel manicure and a pedicure. I had to ask them to cut my nails and file them, they hadn't done any of it and were getting ready to put polish on my uneven nails. Their gel selection is so tiny and awful compared to most salons in Charleston that have baskets full of gel colors. The people who work there or own it are nice and mean well but whoever I had was not experienced or skilled. Took an hour and 15 minutes -- water not warm and polish job was pretty bad. I know I can ask them to repolish but from past experiences in life it takes even longer to redo the mistakes and they're never done right bc the person just isn't good at it so just taking it as a lesson learned! read more

This was my first visit and without a doubt my best experience at a nail salon since coming to Charleston, hands down. I was taken right back and for $42, I got a set of gel nails with white tip. (I like the natural look.) Before I left a green tea based lotion was applied as each forearm and hand and individual finger was given a massage.
