We've been coming here for years for the best Mexican breakfast/lunch this side of the border. The tortillas are handmade fresh here. The guisado (both green and red) and menudo is our go to. Any of the breakfast tacos are solid here. The employees are hustling at all times and checking to ensure you are taken care of. That's not típico anymore (post Covid) where no one wants to work. I "ate" here for the 2nd time today but never again. I stood around for several minutes and while a bunch of the workers looked at me, no one said anything. I finally asked a lady bussing tables if I should seat myself and she said yes. Chips were good but the 2 kinds of salsa weren't. One was bland and the other didn't have much flavor other than being hot. I ordered a plate with a cheese enchilada and a soft cheese taco and then I waited about 15 minutes. The cheese enchilada had red sauce instead of chili and the soft cheese taco was a dry tortilla around cold shredded cheese. I explained to the server that I wanted a cheese enchilada with chili and a cheese enchilada with queso so she took it back. Several minutes later I got the same enchilada and a "soft cheese taco" covered in CANNED cheese sauce. The exact same kind they use for nachos at football games. I took 4 bites and pushed my plate away. I told the waitress it was inedible and asked for my check for my drink. They brought me a check for almost $11 for food I couldn't eat because it was awful! I asked why I was being charged for food I couldn't eat and she left. When she came back she said "give me $2." I gave her a $5 and she snatched it and walked off. No apologies and didn't offer change (though I didn't plan on it but the polite thing would've been for her to ask). No reason to give this place another chance. read more

I had such high expectations for this place and let me tell you it is less than sub par. We ordered queso and I SWEAR they poured it straight from a can to a bowl!!! One of my favorite parts of eating here is that they serve you freshly made flour or corn tortillas with your order. The aguas frescas are so refreshing! The bad thing is that both my rice and beans had a ball of I don't even know what it was, I think it was both burned rice and beans, then the chicken in the enchiladas, the chicken was I guess was made through vapor, so the chicken was pink, so I ask to exchange my plate because I was already so disgusted. I could not make myself eat it, the cheese slid off the top, and the tortilla wasn't even edible it was so soggy. Then I get my new plate, I ordered was tacos al carbon, with rice and "fries". The meat was drenched in salsa, and the tortillas were so soggy and the tacos were way over filled, it was just disgusting. I usually just use one napkin when I eat but when I ate here I used at least 5 napkins because of how easily the meat would slide out. Do not recommend whatsoever. The only good par was that they changed my plate with no hesitation and they brought the food fast, I will NOT be going back. read more

This establishment is blatantly racist and disrespectful. First and foremost they don't have consistent pricing. My mom loves the breakfast tacos here, which is really the only reason I even come. I've been charged different prices for the same items more than 5 times. Each time I ask why there is a change in price, I get a different response. Well today was really the worst possible experience I could ever have. I went to get my mom two bacon, egg, potato, and cheese tacos. These bland and small tacos are easily the most expensive tacos in the area, at 4 bucks plus tax each. Their demeanor is disrespectful as hell. So I pay the 9 bucks for the tacos. I get home and there is literally no bacon on my mom tacos, none! I call to let them know the issue and their response is that I would need to return in order for them to resolve the issue. At this point we have already had multiple issues so there was no way we would be returning. I politely asked for a refund and said that I could not return. After several moments a lady came to the fun letting me know that I could not receive a refund due to them not charging for bacon lol. What a lie! The meat portion of the taco and you don't charge for it?! Lol I'm not dumb. So I let her know that I am not about to play games with her and demanded to speak with her superior. She then hung up on me! I call back and they answer, which then I respond saying that they just hung up on me, which leads them to hang up again!!!!!! I call once more and now there is a lady who is unable to speak any English basically talking to me in Spanish about how there is no manager available and how she couldn't understand Spanish. Instead of making a scene and returning and giving them a piece of my mind, I just called my bank and let them know that I did not receive the proper products that I had expected upon purchase. I grew up by the Northwest Highway location and I have never had issues there. Unfortunately the owners of this establishment are bottom feeding peasants who show no proper upbringing and are honestly just shitty people. I will never return here! If you are white or black, I would suggest you go with Hispanic friends so you don't get overcharged. I absolutely love this place. I had to come here two days in a row for breakfast because I was craving it after the first time! When you first walk in, it kind of seems awkward because you don't know if you're supposed to wait for someone to seat you, or if you seat yourself. Judging by the other yelp reviews, we decided to just seat ourselves. It worked perfectly, because a waiter came to deliver chips and salsa, and take our drink order. If you like micheladas, I would recommend getting one here. It was great, and it was much larger than I expected, for $6.00, not bad. When we walked in, there was no host and no sign that said seat yourself. So we, along with two other customers, stood around for a minute pretty unsure of what to do. Finally another diner told us to seat ourselves. It would be great to have a sign. I would say 50% of the customers that came in after us also looked confused. The front door was a little rough. I couldn't get it open so I had to get my husband to open it for me, which I thought was a little weird.. The cheese enchiladas were great. I thought they came with chili sauce, but it was a ranchero. Which is fine it was good as well. My only complaint with that is the sauce was pretty oily, and I would have preferred chili but again it's not much of a complaint considering I cleared my plate lol. My husband said the breakfast was 4/5 almost perfect, he just wished it had one more egg. When we were done with our food, the waiter made no indication to us that we were supposed to pay up near the bar. We waited for ten minutes before my husband finally asked. Our waiter was nice through out the whole meal, I just wish he would have said something. But now we know for next time. I would give this place a full five stars if there had been a very visible seat yourself sign, not oily ranchero sauce, and had it been clear that we were to pay up front.
