I purchased my mini dachshund from Tiny Tykes 2 months ago and absolutely love him. The owners were very accommodating, as I was going to be out of town when he would be available, so they held him for me an extra week. (Free of charge) When I brought him home he was already potty pad trained! The Son of the owner breeds dachshunds, and was incredibly knowledgeable. He even offered me his phone number to call day or night if I had any concerns before I spend money on a vet or panic as this was my first puppy. I even came back to buy puppy food from them. I was very picky when getting my doxie and as a dog foster mom for the past two years, I wanted to ensure my breeder was safe, reputable, and trusting. This by far was one of the best experiences we had purchasing a puppy from a breeder. Darcy will not release her puppies early or to just anyone. We had to wait until our Mini Maltese was 13 weeks old. Maggie came to us in excellent health. Our vet Dr. Flaska was very impressed with how well she was cared for. She came with a 5 year health guarantee. Darcy (the owner) went over the best foods to feed our Mini Maltese, as well as beneficial vitamins, training suggestions and provided immunization records. Maggie has one of the best dispositions. She is very gentle and very loving. Darcy's dogs are raised in home with a lot of care. They come very PRE-SPOILED. I normally never leave reviews but that's how bad this place was. Walked inside with my bf and daughter. There was another couple and son there so happy they just brought they're dog, but ONCE they left the lady behind the counter was rude and didn't even want to deal with us. Went in hoping to find some dog toys or food for small dogs. Place was dirty. Two young guys were hanging out on their phones and said immediately "we're low on puppies right now". This peaked my curiosity as I hadn't asked about getting a dog. I saw no dogs while I was there, but there were a couple of beds and a few toys strewn about. Also said "we don't vaccinate" and another kid said "Our dogs don't get any shots except occasionally rabies" Stated they have 3 vets they will work with exclusively. Then the owner walked in and walked by on her phone without saying anything. The whole experience was very sketchy. Sorry, but I believe in vaccinating dogs, and adopting dogs. They also went on about some conspiracy theories regarding the Covid Vaccine and people going crazy, (ironic hey) all the dogs dropping dead due to vaccines when it's more likely Parvo, Avian flu, or something similar. Yikes, avoid if you believe in medicine, vaccines, science, and reality. read more

Update: My puppy Addison is still doing very well, I know people get excited and post positive reviews when they get a new pet so I wanted to leave an update. She has grown into her body and everyone always compliments how sweet of a dog she is. She is very smart but still barks at the doorbell and bites at your feet when you walk but I am chalking it up to puppy behavior. We purchased 2 Morkie puppies from Tinytykes sister store Pups and Stuff and are THRILLED with them!! We drove in from Minneapolis, MN and then transported them home to NC a few days later. Dustin helped us and was fabulous, the customer service is exceptional. He even answered my call at 12:30 at night regarding the puppies and was wonderful!! He even called us a few days later to check on the puppies. We are so happy with the service we have received, if you want the best you go to the best. No questions they are family run and know all about the breeds they sell, all questions I had were answered knowledgeable and patiently. Highly recommend, they deserve 10stars! read more

DO NOT BUY A PUPPY FROM TINY TYKES IN MILWAUKEE WISCONSIN! Zero star I would advise everyone who is looking for a family pet to avoid dealing with this place, no matter how badly you want a puppy. We had been working with the owner (Darci) for over 3 weeks to purchase a female teddy bear pup. Our first conversation was great - she would be getting two litters(5&4) in a couple of weeks and we could have 1st pick when they arrived. She offered to send photos as soon as they arrived. The price was $2000.00. When I didn't hear from her later in the week, I called to make sure we were on track. She said she would have the puppies by Thurs. but that they might be a higher price as her breeder was charging more. I told her that I expected her to honor the price she quoted me and that I would not pay more. But yes, she said we could plan on going down and picking one out on Monday, but call or text again on Fri. to make sure everything was in order. Today is Friday. I texted Darci this morning and got no response. Later in the day, I called her, and she informed me that she only got two puppies, and they were both males. She also indicated that if I wanted one of those, it would be $2600. Then she asked, after all of our discussions, " is this the lady who said she wouldn't pay more than $2000?" She was very rude and acted like we'd never made arrangements to purchase a puppy at all! Later in the day, she posted on FB that she had sold one of those males for $3200!!! Several people were involved in the thread to this post, and within 15 minutes she had deleted all of the negative comments. BOTTOM LINE: Find a breeder that you can trust (you can NOT trust her.) Find a breeder who welcomes your questions and doesn't lie to cover her ass. Find a breeder that truly cares about the puppy, and not just selling puppies to the highest bidder. TINY TYKES IS NOT THAT PLACE! And this Darci person is not someone you want to get involved with. Remember that for every good review you see, there are always many more to refute them. STAY AWAY. THEAY ARE JUST LOOKING FOR YOUR $$$. (P.S. Today I read more than one review indicating that her puppies are being supplied by a large breeding facility near Madison. I cannot confirm this information, but it was certainly prevalent on her FB page before she removed them.) My point is, this business is a scam to sell puppies at the highest price possible.The owner (and her brother) lied and deceived us, not to mention broke our hearts. She has deleted any negative posts from her FB page (including mine!) and even went so far as to write a fake apology, saying that this all arose from confusion and misunderstandings, and that she has been SO busy. Funny, just last week she said she had a few malti-po's and that no one had been in to buy anything for at least 2 weeks. This woman is a liar, a cheat and a scam artist. And on top of it all, she routinely responds to bad reviews by using fake apologies and untrue excuses. Run. Run away as fast as you can. (No doubt she will comment on this review at some point. Based off of my personal experience I would not recommend this store at all!. Granted the prices are reasonable compared to other big chains. Customer service lacked personality. There were two guys there the younger one with long hair just looked at us didn't greet us. Went back in room and apparently there was a dog in there with him because the dog yelped and he was yelling at it. At that point I knew we would not be purchasing a dog from them! We went in a couple of days ago. We have looked at breeders and shelters and this was by far the worst experience of all. The owner could not care less that there was anyone in the shop. She looked at kitchen remodels on the computer and was sending someone selfies. The whole time she treated us like we were bugging her and when I asked if she ever had bichon puppies she said no cause she hated their attitudes....um she was definitely the one with attitude. If you fork over the cash you can have any puppy you want no questions....I'm sure people had good experiences but there are much much better breeders out there. read more

Horrible experience! Went in with the intention of buying a puppy. The lady behind the counter was more worried about being on her phone then interacting with us. I had to pull answers out of her. If your trying to sell someone a $900 -$1,500 dog, your should probably not make your customers feel like they are bothering you when you come in to buy something. We purchased a "Teddy Bear" (half Bichon, half Schitzu ) from Tiny Tykes in December, 2015. Store was well kept. Puppies were obviously cared for and very clean. All were playful and happy. Darcy, co-owner, was helpful. We would have liked more info about the puppies parents, which was not given (even when we asked several times). Still, experience was good overall. Puppy is very healthy and has a wonderful, outgoing personality. We've owned dogs for 40+ years. Purchased from AKC breeders, adopted from shelter and now bought from a pet store. I stopped by here once while on my way to Target. While looking at the puppies I asked where they get their dogs (naively thinking that maybe because it's a small place they could pull dogs from nearby small hobby breeders or something). The woman who identified herself as the owner told me that she bred the dogs herself. This made me very happy because I thought well that sounds idyllic. In a burst of excitement I exclaimed to my partner "they breed their own dogs!" Then I enthusiastically asked if the mother was here. I was thinking that since they had to go in the back of the store to bring out puppies maybe the mom was in back too. So I asked if I could see the mom and I motioned toward the back of the store and the owner said "the mom is sleeping." Then I later read this comment written by the OWNER of the store: "If in fact this anonymous person did purchase a puppy from our store, I wonder why did they buy a puppy from a pet store if they so object to commercial kennels. The majority of puppies sold in any store are bred in a kennel. Even those who claim to raise all of their own puppies. Do the math. Hundreds of puppies a year requires quite a large scale breeding opperation!" It is indeed a personal decision where you buy a dog. But before you do you might want to investigate where dogs from pet stores come from. They come from USDA breeders; the same department of government that oversees agricultural farm animals. You can read for yourself on Wisconsin's licensing page the requirements dog breeders face. It's not what you think. They are treated like agricultural animals. They do not have to be let out of a cage. The requirements are basically the same as cattle. If you are okay with this it is your life but since most people who buy puppies are dog lovers you might want to learn about the realities first so you can make an informed decision. I was really naive when I stepped foot in this store but I am not anymore. read more

Putting this out there for others who may be looking to purchase a dog from this place. Find somewhere else to purchase your dog. This person has no sellers permit in the City of Milwaukee, transactions are rung up by a different company up north, they will provide you with documentation that is false and a whole array of other issues. They will say in all of the advertising they do that they utilize a breeder who has bred dogs for their family for over 40 years. They sell Puppy Mill dogs. The dogs are bred by Large Scale Breeding Operations in Clark County. How do I know this? I purchased a dog there a month ago and in looking at the documentation, researching our breed and researching the breeder(s), I have found that none of these breeders are reputable. They have all had issues with the State of WI due to the breeding operations that they run. Very unethical business practices as well. "If you pay Cash we don't have to charge you Sales Tax? Seriously? Cash or Not, it's your civic duty to pay taxes to the city/county you are doing business in. I doubt very much that the sales tax they charged me will be given to the state. I may have to report the purchase myself to the County and State to make sure that nothing comes back on me. At the end of the day, the purchase has been frustrating for our family and trying to produce correct information for our vet has been a hassle. The proper authorities have been contacted and hopefully with the other taxes that I pay, this operation will be put out of business or put under the microscope at the very least. In this age of where everyone is screwing everyone over, I should have seen this coming. Maybe I am just too nice and believe in people that are cordial. Now I am questioning everyone. This business gives a black eye to the ones that are trying to be ethical. Disgusted to say the least. read more

Very nice location but unfortunately we were unable to really ask for information on the puppies as there were 5 or 6 teenagers behind the counter hugging and kissing using profanity.
