I would go absolutely any where else other than this location. The workers are absolutely terrible. I had a cart filled with fish items. A new tank, decoration, and all the fixings. I had a fish given to me last minute, so it was currently being housed in a small container for the moment. I was preparing to move it to a larger tank, in a few weeks once it was set up. After searching for 15 mins, I finally found a worker to help me. I asked for a fish. He didn't ask what fish, what for, or anything. Immediately started questioning my tank and choices. To be honest, I didn't answer all of his questions. I just wanted one freaking feeder fish! He then told me I would kill my fish and that he felt comfortable saying that because I looked like an adult who wouldn't cry. He had no idea what I was getting a $.30 fish for. Little did he know, he was a feeder fish for a turtle. So instead of buying a new set up for a fish I had at home, I unpacked my cart and left. Absolute terrible service. To top it all off, the fish tanks there had multiple dead fish in them and extremely dirty. Please do not take your pet here. I took my 7 month old puppy in for his first professional groomer, and was greeted poorly. The groomer (with a giant hickey on her neck) seemed displeased with the fact we waited so long even though we have trimmed him up and shaved him down plenty of times at home before. Then, his shots (specifically rabies's) were not on file. Even though we got them at that location. After finding the email and proving he was up-to-date, she still seemed upset. The whole interaction, she kept on saying how it was such a pain in the ass. This phrase was repeated multiple times by her. After dropping him off and waiting for 2 hours I got the text that he was ready. I headed in right then and the first thing she says to me was 'you've got to be kidding me'. She said he didn't do great, especially around his face, which I thought was completely normal especially for a puppy. Once I paid and had my dog we left. He was extremely skiddish and seemed totally different. It also looks like he only got his face, paws, and behind cleaned up. Even though we paid for a full haircut. Moral of the story: DONT TAKE YOUR DOG TO PETCO. Update: I called the store a couple hours after, at around 5pm. I stayed on hold for about 5 minutes and was met with the automated reply. After waiting on hold I was told no one, not a manager nor a customer service employee could come to the phone. I left a message and was told I'd get a reply, but I have not. read more

We have been going to Petco for vaccines for years without issue. Today I learned that there was some "INCIDENT" last year that has BANNED us from coming back. I was dumbfounded. Don't you think a customer would be told not to come back? My paperwork says to return in one year which is what I did.... I stopped here for some food and litter for Lucy and ask for some kitten advice. The store is the typical Petco with all the pet stuff you could want for your animals. They had the exact brand of food that I wanted and the litter was bulk so you buy the litter once and refill the container for 38 cents a pound. I am Dr. Angel Baez. This morning, as I regularly do, I went to have my pet, Benjie, groomed. I must mention that after 4 hours, I arrived at the establishment to check on the status of my dog's grooming and found that he had experienced some anxiety and had defecated on the floor. It's obvious that he's an animal, and this can be common when surrounded by other dogs. However, upon arriving, I was informed that they hadn't finished with my pet yet, and to my surprise, the person grooming him turned out to be the most incompetent groomer on the planet, and not only that, she is the most incompetent, unprofessional, ill-mannered, stupid, arrogant, and unpleasant person I have ever dealt with in my 53 years of life. She made a comment to me, asking if I wanted her to continue trimming my dog's ears, and I approached the area where she was to hear her and tell her to leave the dog as he was, but the complete idiot told me I had to leave the area. My question is, how the hell did she expect me to answer her through the glass if I couldn't hear her? Immediately afterward, I asked her to give me my pet because I was paying for the service and it wasn't free, and with a defiant and stupid attitude, like a true incompetent, she threatened to put a note in my puppy's file so they wouldn't accept him anymore. I responded to her as she deserved, telling her to put whatever note she wanted, since today, February 9, 2026, would be the last time I would take my dog ​​to be treated with contempt and a bad attitude because of the anxiety it caused him. Finally, I want to point out that my dog ​​is better behaved than that woman who attended to him. ‼‼‼‼ This is a gouge taken out of a one year old puppy's paw on her first grooming appointment because the Petco salon area's DOOR was THIS sharp! We went to pay at the normal check out desk in the store and noticed a mischarge. After sorting out the charges, I went back to grab her from the salon area. She was excited when we were leaving and apparently the corner or the door (that I can imagine hundreds of pets go in and out of weekly) did THIS to her paw! When we were in the store area someone noticed blood everywhere as she was walking. Every!! Where!! I brought her back into the grooming area and the girls immediately said I hit her with the door and it has nothing to do with them or Petco. I was confused to why even if they saw the dog get touched by the door how this could have been the outcome... so I touched where she came in contact with the door. RAZOR SHARP! As they wanted to continue to blame me for "doing this" to the dog, I asked them to explain how they can have such a dangerous area where they have animals and their paws etc pass every single day. Of course they stayed quiet. While one of the girls, Nicole, went to "call corporate to see what they could do" after being completely rude to us, the other one walked out of the salon area and talked about us right on the other side of the window (that she must have thought was sound proof) to a customer. Found out after the fact that her name is Ashlee, and she is the salon manager. How professional! I opened the door after hearing her choice words and told her we can hear everything she's saying and she probably shouldn't be talking about us to other customers as we have been paying customers. She said nothing back to me but rolled her eyes, said a few more words to the other customer, and walked away from all of us. The lady who called whoever she actually called said they can give us half back of whatever her vet bill will be because she reviewed security tape and saw it was "my fault" to make her get cut. I wish I took a picture of the corner of the door, but aside from it being razor sharp, it was off the ground enough that a paw or part of an animals paw could easily get caught under it while in motion of being opened or closed. They said this has never happened before to an animal and unfortunately I guess it happened to ours first. She's one year old on sunday, a 70 lb english bulldog (so it's not like i'm able to carry her out), and she was excited to leave out the door with her owners after her first grooming day. The last thing I said when I left I was pointing at the bottom of the door and said get this fixed. I've been on wait to have corporate call back for almost two hours now, but this is completely unacceptable and CLEARLY unsafe! If they want to tell their customers that their doors or property that can do something this damaging to the animals that walk through the door and they are "taking care of" aren't their responsibility then everyone needs make sure they rethink where they take their pets. Pets are looked at as owner's children, and we definitely want them treated and protected the same as children too!!! Never did I think I would be one to post an experience I had to make people aware of it, but here we are! Please share and spread the word to be cautious of where you take your pets and who will care for not you as the paying customer, but your fur babies too!!! read more

The conversation was fine at first, but he then told me "your kind typically doesn't own expensive breeds". As a woman of color, this was so out of line and I will never be returning. Since this nice young woman jamie started working at st.francis petco we always been coming back and actually enjoying coming in jamie always has a smile on her face and is very kind, patient, and very helpful. She knows alot about animals and she's very honest. She will go above and beyond to help customers and I'm surprised she wasn't the manager as i have witnessed a dark hair female manager treat her very poorly in front of all the customers she looked new she continued to yell and scream at jamie told her if she went on her lunch soon that she would write her up and jamie still continued to kindly check out customers and apologizing to us when she did nothing to deserve what this manager was saying to her it was horrible. She manages to do so much and is very friendly and sweet even with customers that come in and aren't so nice to her. Overall my family loves coming to this petco and I hope you never lose jamie she's awesome. We will keep coming back. read more

This location is good overall- it's close to us and smaller compared to other Petco so you can get in and out quicker. The grooming manager Ashlee is fantastic! Most of the employees are helpful and friendly expect one of the managers can be confrontational which is unnecessary and inappropriate. read more

My fiancé and I love this Petco. It's the only real chain pet store that's near to us that carries everything we need. We're a part of their rewards program and since we frequent there, we're often getting coupons for $5 off of a purchase. In fact, I had five coupons that built up because they don't expire really fast. Therefore our $80 visit turned into a $60 visit. It's just nice to know that since we put so much money into their store, that they also give back a little. The staff are all really friendly and always very helpful. The store is always clean and animals/creatures always seem well taken care of. As long as we live in this area, this will be our go-to pet store. This is one of the nicer chain pet stores of this variety that I've been to! It's new, and clean, and has a large selection of dog food brands. They even have a Bulk treat bar for $4.49/lb. with human-quality foods! Our dogs go NUTS for these cookies and treats and niblets. very friendly staff too! read more

We went to get hermit crabs for my daughter. Five of them they pulled out of the tank were DOA. We get the two home and sadly, one of them didn't even make the car ride home. We do have a 30 day guarantee though. I really don't want to be making the trek back and forth all month. The crabs looked really neglected. I am no crab expert but the cage was dirty and really, all of them were dead? Being hermits I am sure they aren't checked on regularly. Eighty dollars later we got out of the store. We had our own tank to start out with. Now we have a red glare of a heating lamp coming out of my daughters room with a crab that I have seen only once. The attendant said they need toys. Hiding toys? If you want to spend needless money on pet supplies, this is the place to go! They do have a rewards program. I am $20.00 away from earning $5.00! PS we are now on crab number 6! If you need you're pups nails clipped, this is the place to go! The ladies are so patient and sweet with my dogs and always offer great advice on how to care for the animals. Very friendly, welcoming, and I go out of my way to go to this Petco. Not only is the grooming salon awesome, I've spoken to two different trainers who educated me on their dog training programs and really took the time to make sure what class would be a good option for behaviors in pups. We had taken our fur baby there for a full grooming session. After we had picked her up, she was shaking, drooling at the mouth, vomiting and had a limp! We had to take her to the emergency room because she was absolutely sick and in pain. We were told by Petco that she was given a flea bath and that she "laid down in the tub, but was supervised". I've given my puppy plenty of baths at home and she's never laid down. I'm not sure what they did to her, but I'm never taking her back. read more

It's not getting five stars for a couple reasons , one being that there were two dead beta fish that they kept out for what had to of been days . The water was dark brown and you don't even wanna know what the fish looked like That being said , the rest of the store was nice . It's a little smaller then the other pet stores we've been to . We were there for about two hours browsing all the animals and products . We didn't get asked once if we needed help or assistance with anything . We didn't mind because if we had needed help we would have asked , but some people might get frustrated with that . We saw numerous customers wandering around trying to find someone to help them . A lot of their hamster and small rodent inventory was out of stock. The rest of the animals they had looked healthy and happy in their temporary homes They have a nice bakery up front where they sell numerous packaged treats . Do not have your dog groomed at the salon. Upon leaving the store after the appointment, our puppy had this large tick attached to his skin. This tick was not present before the appointment and was easy to see. This means that the tick had attached himself to our puppy while waiting for us to pick him up. We were supposed to receive a text, but upon returning to the store we discovered that he had been done at least 15 mins before we arrived. I received the text 30 minutes after leaving the store. We will never be bringing our puppy there to be groomed ever again. read more

In general, I think Petco is a little pricey, so I got to Pet Supplies Plus or Bark and Scratch for dog food/treats...but I do regularly utilize them for grooming and the vet days, which are great. The groomers at the St. Francis location always come across friendly & warm, and I'm happy with their work. My only complaint is that there are times that I will come in when there are supposed to be groomers present, and at least three times I've had to turn around and leave because they had "left early" (It's usually been around 5pm - after work). I understand that things may be slow, but if you advertise hours of operation specifically for grooming, those hours should be honored and someone should be there(unless in an unexpected/emergency situation). All in all, I enjoy bringing my dogs here for their nails and it's a positive experience. read more

Our groomer Tanya, was great. My dog, Harley, has been having severe allergies lately and we need to find him some relief. We took him to get bathed to clean him and soothe his skin. Tanya not only suggested the special itch relieving shampoo, but also the mud bath to help as well. In addition, she put together some suggestions for dog foods that are grain free and limited ingredients to help further alleviate his condition. Grooming - Had my dog groomed at this Petco before and they did a great job. Just took in again 11/11/2014, new groomer and total disaster! Have a King Charles Spaniel and ask for feet to be groomed, chest 'trimmed' and feathers to be a minimum of a - 1 1/2 in and the ears to be trimmed, no body hair was to be cut. When I mentioned the tufts in the front of the ear the attitude was I know. Picked up my dog - feathers on hind legs front were completely cut off, front leg maybe a ince, chest hair was completely cut off, ears cut up to the leather and left choppy. Found a mat in the front of her ear when I got home along with some small ones left under her from legs that I combed out. Poor puppy looks like a disaster....fortunately it will grow back and I will Never use Petco for grooming services again. Also, they had a SPA upgrade for a few small things which were not offered, nor given. This is in effect 11/02 - 11/22 with the full grooming. Will find a professional groomer as this was totally unacceptable! If Petco is going to have groomers, they need to know what is acceptable for the breed of dog they are grooming - this person surely had no clue. The balance of the store is ok but always seem to have to wait for a cashier to show up - must go at break time.... read more

I had 3- 5"6" Oscars and fed them live fish from this store. The first 3 times there was no problem but when I brought home food fish the last time, the fish only ate a few and then backed away. They stopped eating and died one at a time after eating those fish. I talked to the guy who sold me the food fish and he offered no explanation but offered to test my water. Healthy 5 year old fish don't die for no reason. I talked to a girl who worked there and she said that the feeder fish arrive sedated and their water is supposed to be changed a couple of times before they are sold. I explained how my fish died and she said that the fish probably still were sedated and if eaten they could kill the bigger fish. No offer to replace irreplaceable fish. I went back 3 days ago and bought 5 Oscars. When I woke this morning, one was dead and another was floundering. Scales were missin and fins were a mess. I'll never buy fish there again. They obviously don't know how to take care of their fish. read more
