We love BVB! Jackson has been going since he was 9 weeks old and absolutely LOVES it! When we pull up in the morning, Jackson's tail starts wagging he seriously is obsessed! The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and always smiling. I love that there is training incorporated in the daily daycare schedule. Bayview bark is great for play groups and boarding. They pare them with size and temperment groups and they do teach basic manners classes, they also have a little play group for my little guy with a bad bake (older Dogs, 3 legged ect) They use to go to daycare but now I'm retired, they get to play all day and then go in their cages (sometime they tired and crabby ) and have to take a nap, Love the fact that someone is there 24/7 in case of fire ect the staff really goes out of the way to get to know each dog and the dogs love the staff PLUS THE DOGS GET DAILY REPORT CARDS heck no I wouldn't wany them a kennel lots of all time. I like the fact that they "play and stay" I never worry about them (a little) as if I left him to stay with friends ect. read more

My high energy Spring Spaniel puppy has been coming to Bay View Bark going on 2 years now, and we couldn't be more happy with the care and service that they provide. She comes home every day tuckered out from a day of playing with her friends (and is usually tired still the next day,) and it's been a great way for us to socialize her given she doesn't have extensive exposure to other dogs. The staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome, they greet both me and my pup by name, and are always so thoughtful and heartfelt. They truly care about our animals, and it really shows. If there have ever been any issues or concerns, they are quick to communicate with me, and I know that my dog is in the best hands possible. They also post photos on their Facebook page and are active throughout the week so pet owners know what's going on at BVB They are accommodating, friendly, warm, and despite having other doggy daycares closer to where I live, I'll make the drive to Bay View to keep her here! Our playful pup has been coming here for over a year and absolutely loves it (and we do too!). His ears perk up and he can't get to the car quick enough when we say "let's go to daycare". Bay View helped socialize him to other dogs and humans during this past year with COVID and I don't know what we would have done without the lovely care givers at Bay View Bark. Our dog has also stayed overnight with their stay and play and we feel so comfortable knowing he's taken care of by this team. The staff is friendly and efficient. I have nothing but good things to say about Bay View Bark, not only is the environment wonderful for the dogs, but the people are amazing. It's a fairly new start-up and they could use support! They offer a ton of services including grooming, day care, and classes. They are very supportive of local rescue groups and are constantly hosting fundraisers and giving back. There is inside and out door play areas (even a small dog area). Both grass and gravel. You are more than welcome to bring snacks and just hang out. We had our just 5 month old enrolled in the puppy class. For the price ($185) we got 6 sessions (5 with our puppy). Each session (45 minutes long) consisted of the instructor reading from an ipad with minimum hands on time. Questions were encouraged but then we were referred to email the instructor. Our puppy and ourselves learned very little from this class having had dogs before. I would look elsewhere. read more

Our 5 month old Goldendoodle loves going to daycare here! We were first introduced to the facility when we signed up for their puppy class, which was a great first step in training and socialization. We have some daycares closer to our home, but we choose to drive across town because we trust Bay View Bark to take good care of our Margie. My only complaint or suggestion would be to add more photos daily and maybe a live video feed or snapchat feed? It's very fun to see photos from the day but the Facebook posts are inconsistent and we haven't seen any photos of Margie with her new friends. Overall, wonderful place and staff! read more

Bay View Bark is amazing! The employees are all knowledgeable and really friendly. I first did a tour with the owner, then brought my little Penny in for a behavior assessment. I was really pleased both visits. You can see the owner is passionate about her business as well as the health & wellness of the dogs in her care. I have so far left Penny there for two full daycare days, and I can tell she absolutely loves it. She comes home so happy and tuckered out from a long day of playing with her new human and doggie friends. And I really appreciate that they take tons of pictures every single day and post on their Facebook page. I love seeing my little girl playing with her friends and having fun! I feel very comfortable leaving her in their care and plan on doing so at least 3 days a week, especially while she's so young. I highly recommend Bay View Bark! read more

Couple of issues that bothered me: My dog came home twice with chewed up leashes. On one of the occasions the leash had been almost completely destroyed in one day. When I asked staff how the leash was destroyed no one could give me an answer. It troubled me that any dog had access to chewing a leash under their care. I got a chew proof leash to prevent this from happening again (wire coated in vinyl) and for some reason the staff thought it would be a good idea to make a weiss walkie with it on my dog. Clearly that would hurt my dog. Multiple times my dog came home with cuts or scrapes but I chalked it up to rough play. The report cards didn't outline any issues had throughout the day. When my dog came home lethargic and dehydrated I had to call to find out my dog had pooped out a piece of fabric from a toy. My issue was no one told me upfront or in the report--- I had to call to ask specifically. The final straw was when I received a voicemail while at work that my dog was 'cranky'. I called back and was told my dog was barking and being dominant to other dogs, goading them excessively to play, chase, etc. The employee suggested I brought my dog in too many days in a row (3) and asked if there were problems at home. I really felt this should have been handled internally. Clearly if my dog was in a 'mood' then the dog trainers and pet care professionals could resolve this problem, right? Isn't that what I paid for---for them to look after my dog?? For what I paid on a daily basis for my dog to attend I would expect suggestions to the problem and not complaints and speculation of my personal life. It turns out my dog had giardia and was more irritable due to dehydration and pain. We also noticed a shift in our dog's enthusiasm in going to doggy day care towards the end of our visits there. I believe this is because he was being sprayed excessively with a squirt bottle. A lot of staff there are very kind and knowledgeable but I don't think they used their best judgement with my dog so we won't be returning unfortunately. read more

I am so grateful to have Bay View Bark in my neighborhood. They offer a fantastic fun environment for dogs to play during their open play time, a wonderful doggy daycare, and they even have good quality (Earthborn Holistics) food onsite for purchase. We adopted a pitbull from MADACC last year. She was a great dog to begin with, but since we've been taking her to BVB she's become an even better dog. She knows that most days she gets to go play at the Bark and seems to realize that's her energy outlet, making her a calmer, happier super well behaved dog during the day. The staff is familiar with bully breeds and has helped us guide her in developing wonderful play behavior and manners. She loves her daily play time at the Bark and we've made many great friends and connections through hanging out there with other dog owners. When we've had to go on vacation we've boarded our dog with one of the owner's, Julia. Julia took such wonderful care of her, taking her to daycare during the day and then home with her at night. We knew that she was getting the best care possible AND having a blast - what more could a pet owner ask for? I can't recommend Bay View Bark highly enough. read more

So thankful to Julia and her business partner for bringing such a cool place to Bayview! My husband and I got our first dog earlier this year. Before we picked him up from the breeder, I stopped at Bayview Bark (BVB) to get a tour and learn more about their business as we live only a few miles away and always make a point of supporting a local business over a chain. Julia gave me a tour of the facility and on the first glance, everything looked great. But once we got our puppy and started to come to BVB regularly, I completely fell in love with the place and the people. They genuinely care about your dog and your well-being. They will do what's right to ensure safety of dogs and their owners. They are always smiling, welcoming and open to listen to your questions and giving advice. So far, and we have had our puppy since March of 2012, we: - have taken a puppy essential training course - have taken summer agility foundation short course - are currently enrolled in agility foundation 8 week course - had our dog groomed and his nails trimmed - attended several Friday night and Sunday during the day special events/fundraisers - enrolled our dog in Doggie Boot Camp (day care) once or twice a week - attended their Open Play from 4-8pm every week day - there are indoor and outdoor play areas. All these services met and exceeded our expectations. We will continue supporting this place because there is not a better one in town :) read more

Being that Bayview Bark charges 1.5x - 2x what the average dog daycare in the area does, you'd think they'd have something to show for it. Unfortunately not. I say this because they will only accept dogs who do not exhibit any behavioral issues whatsoever. In addition to that, with the exception of the owner the staff is compromised entirely of high school and college girls with little to veterinarian experience. That's fine if that's who you want to hire, I understand the business has a limited budget and hiring professionals may be out of the question, but if your dog has any sort of misbehavior whatsoever, even if it's small, don't expect them to be able to handle it effectively. In my opinion, that's why my dog was rejected. I was told "he passed the dog portion of the meet-and-greet with flying colors." But my dog growls when strangers lift his muzzle to look at his gums. ...I got him from the humane society, he was a surrender at 3.5 years old, and I have worked very hard to overcome his trust and anxiety issues for the past 3 years, most of which I did so successfully. I showed the owner in their lobby that I could touch my dog's gums as much as I please with no reaction from him. (I was physically showing her) He just doesn't trust strangers with that level of intimacy. He'll let people touch him elsewhere, even the paws, just not the gums. That was enough for this daycare to reject him. Apparently they look at your dog's gums multiple times per day. When I asked if this was typical of dog daycares to check a dog's oral hygiene so often the owner told me that she's "not privy to what other dog daycares do." If you think having that sweet Bay View real estate is a top priority for your dog then I get it, this is the place for your dog. If you think having a staff that will go above and beyond for your dog is more important, look elsewhere. Personally, if I pay top dollar for a service, I expect the business to show me that they're willing to work with me, not make me kiss their ass, which is basically how I felt. read more

Great place for dog daycare. They do an excellent job of doing an initial assesment of your dog that you get to watch. They explain what happens to your dog throughout the day (group playtime, indvidual training, nap time, etc.). All the staff is very friendly, helpful and know all the dogs. We get a report card for our dog telling us what they worked on, who they played with and couple of other notes. They also offer open play in the afternoon and is really helpful in the winter months when dogs can't really be outside for too long. My dog has been coming to doggy day care at Bay View Bark since November, usually 2-3 times a week. When I initially looked for a day care to bring her to, I was drawn to BVB because I liked that they were a "Smart" doggy day care, meaning they spend time each day working with your dog on training. This has helped reinforce things we've taught her, as well as taught us new tricks that are really useful (my favorite is "with me"). Another big reason I chose BVB was their hours. Many doggy day care places you have to pick up by 6 or 6:30 PM and that just wasn't feasible with my schedule, so BVB's schedule is great for me. You get a card each day that tells you about what your dog did - who their buddies were, what they worked on during training, etc. The staff are happy to answer questions and they clearly love the dogs in their care. They also post pictures regularly to their FB page so we can see her in action with her friends, which I love. Most importantly, my dog clearly loves coming to BVB. She is excited every time we walk through the door and crashes as soon as we get home from her long day of play. Price wise, BVB may not be the cheapest doggy day care option you will find out there, but they do offer a 20 pack that brings the price down and they will sometimes have coupons as well. Regardless, I think this is a case of "you get what you pay for", and at BVB you get attentive care, a loving environment, and a smarter dog! Best doggie daycare and groomers I've ever found. I've recently switched jobs and want to rent closer to my work but the only thing holding me back is moving away from Bay View Bark; I would go out of my way to take him here. The staff is friendly, attentive and always has time for questions. My dog goes once a week to daycare and they will work in a grooming appointment for him while he's there. I drop him off at 7am and pick him up at 5pm. When I pick him up he is exhausted after a full day of playtime, obedience and socialization. They take the time to answer any questions and make suggestions for my dog about training him. Bay View Bark has an amazing indoor and outdoor play area. They have drop in play groups, where you can stop in and let you dogs get some running around time, while you sit in the shade. They also host events almost every weekend, which always benefits a local rescue group. Went in this week to see about the puppy class. When I asked the associate about the classes I was simply told "class is full" then got a blank stare. The associate then looked to verify and said "sorry, that's it, no more until next year, you can sign your puppy up then". The associate did not offer any alternatives on different services or advice on what I could do since the puppy would be too old by next year....was kind of snippy about us even asking, so I simply thanked the associate and left. I left feeling like I was imposing on them. Left a really bad first impression. Who knows maybe this is a great place but I did not get the 5 star treatment that other reviewers are giving. Facility is in a good location as its close to the Highway and it's quite large. Place did look a little unorganized and cluttered in the front. Didn't get to see the rest of the place since the associate didn't seem to care we there anyway. They have a small retail area too, seems to carry the basics. read more

I took my newly adopted dog here for two classes and they were great. I loved how small they were and how much attention both myself and the dog got. I also just recently started sending my dog to doggy daycare once a week and we both love it. She gets to play all day and I love that they include training as part of the day. I absolutely LOVE Bay View Bark! We've been bringing our 3 year old wheaten terrier here since we moved to Milwaukee (about a year) and they have been absolutely great. My husband and I travel for work and they are so flexible with our hectic schedules, the facility is wonderful, the staff is friendly and they know us by name...even when we call. My dog can't wait to jump out of the car when we pull into the parking lot and has a great time there, does agility training, and also learns basic commands. 10 Stars. SO Many wonderful things to say. I have used ALL of their services. The day care is unmatched by any other "competition". Classes/Day Care: I went through puppy classes and other various classes here. The puppy class was taught by the owner, Julia, who is AMAZING. Because I took the classes here, the commands I use are also used by the handlers during day care. Each dog gets a individual training session each day. NO ONE ELSE DOES THIS. To be able to drop your dog off and say I need help with this behavior and get him back at the end of the day nailing it is the best feeling ever! Ive been to other places, no one offers the care that BVB does. Grooming: Grooming here is incredible also, my boys come home smelling great for an entire week! Worth every penny, and with grooming you get what you pay for, trust me! Over Night Boarding: Also, unmatched service. It is such a comfort to leave town knowing my boys are well cared for. Its a vacation for them and me! Again, you get what you pay for here. Other places may cost less but they will not get the attention they get here. They are truly given the same level of care as they get at home.... maybe more.... On top of all of this, Bay View Bark is a woman owned business, and I love that! Power to the people! read more

I took my two dogs to be groomed a couple days ago. My pug got a nail clip and bath. My Shellie, however, needed a lot more than that. His coat was a mess from overgrowth. The groomer agreed to shave him and groom around his face. She did such a great job. We've had it done before and it's been uneven and jagged in spots. He looks amazing. Both dogs were dry and didn't smell like wet dog when we left. Very happy and we will be back. Thank you to the staff for getting us in with shorter notice than other shops. read more

Finding a friendly & safe place for our standard poodle to play that was closer than the city dog parks was a bit of hassle. When bayview bark opened on 1st street we were excited to see how the establishment would develop. They have done a nice job creating a functional outside play area and though the inside play space is small it seems to keep the dogs engaged and tuckers them out. I highly recommend their Doggie Boot Camp (doggie daycare with little more training) service. Our dogs comes home happy and completely exhausted. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the dogs on the premises. They really seem to care about the dogs they are working with. read more

My dog Pete loves it here! He attends Barkin Bootcamp(daycare)2-3 times per week. They have an outdoor and indoor park that's awesome too! The daycare is pricey compared to other places in the area, but they spend time with him doing basic training and agility training. It's completely worth the extra money! I have a rescue dog who is almost one and a 1/2 years old. She was not very social with other dogs or people. Now she likes getting out and playing with other dogs at the day care. She also isn't so skittish around people. I feel the people at bayview bark care very much about my baby. I would recommend them to anyone who loves their pet. read more

I took my 2 dogs to the Sat play group. Both dogs are very social and playful. The contract that I signed clearly stated in bold that no dogs with aggression are allowed. But two dogs in the group were being aggressive the whole time we were there. One dog in particular was targeting one of my dogs. I take my dogs to the dog park all the time so I know what normal dog play looks like. This was not normal play. Excessive growling, biting harder than play biting, and trying to pin my dog to the ground while showing teeth. No matter how many times I separated them, she kept coming back to my dog. The only thing the workers did was spray the dogs with a squirt bottle. When I complained about the aggression, the worker stated that part of the group is to teach owners to handle their dogs and to teach dogs social skills. I do not really consider squirting dogs with waters as a training technique for owners or dogs. I would never go back again. read more

Rita, the groomer is amazing with our 2 babies. We have a 4 year old collie mix and a bichon poodle who is 15 and they LOVE going to see her. The only complaint we have is our collie mix didn't like the daycare there or the training classes. We trust her opinion since she has been abused before and she is always right when she doesn't like something so we pulled her out. Also the use of spray bottles terrifies her since this daycare. But we have been going to rita for about 2 or 3 years now and just love her! read more

We LOVE Bay View Bark! We use the dog park and our dogs love the pool, the agility equipment, the toys, the indoor and outdoor areas. Our dogs also go to daycare there, and we are seeing fantastic results from not only the exercise and stimulation they get during the day, but the training also. We are looking forward to starting training classes there soon. We chose this business because of all of the work and contributions they do to benefit animals in shelters and animal welfare organizations. They have a big heart for animal welfare!
