My backseat crew began caterwauling because "they were thirsty." To their defense, I hadn't stopped anywhere since Santa Fe. So we pulled into Tatum and while I thought I would have to drag the whiny kids into one of two quick shops in the tiny southeastern New Mexico town, I soon remembered Tiny's Burger Barn. There are dining options, however, I only wanted to stop to rehydrate and get back on the road. There was a drive-thru. Fantastic! You can't miss it from Broadway Street/Highway 380. The parking lot had some potholes, but otherwise it was a well-kept area. Two small and a medium Dr. Pepper set me back $7.09. The young lady at the window was pleasant to chat with. We made it to my daughter's karate class in time afterwards. We'll be back someday to try some grub. SIDE NOTE Can't sleep at 2:45AM. Woke up having trouble breathing. My eyes burning. Driving through Tatum looking for a place to eat, everything was closed at noon on a Monday, except Tiny's so we decided to give it try. Nothing fancy, but you're in TATUM for god's sake. Found the last table inside in the A/C; there were several outside on the patio, but it was HOT! I had the Spicy BBQ Bacon Cheese Burger with Fries and my wife had the Burger Combo with Onion Rings. Both were great burgers, but I had the Sweet Jalapeno Bun and it was an excellent touch to the burger. We got lucky and got there just before the lunch rush - it got busy and wait time was around 45 minutes for food when we left, but we got ours within a few minutes. Everything we tried was delicious! Philly cheese steak was super flavorful; breakfast burrito was gigantic and yummy - same for the Tiny burger! We loved that they had syrups to add to your sodas. Desserts looked delicious; we immediately regretted not ordering a slice of cheesecake and sheetcake - next time for sure. The interior is, in fact, tiny, but there is plenty of patio seating and picnic tables scattered around as well. We can't wait to stop in again! read more

We were passing thru Tatum on our way back to Texas and stopped by Tiny's. It was very busy -even at 2:00 in the afternoon- causing a 15 minute wait that was well worth it. Vanessa was a one woman whirlwind at the front counter! Taking orders on the phone, in person, drive thru, and making drinks and shakes and keeping everyone happy. She was friendly, efficient & even singing softly. Whatever they pay her isn't enough! I ordered a simple burger and it was hot, fresh and delicious. The bun was soft with crisp toasting inside. The beef patty was ample & juicy. Topped off with pickles, red onions, fresh green curly lettuce leaves, and the condiments I chose. Absolutely delicious! The restroom was clean and tidy. The only draw back keeping me from giving 5 stars was an abundance of flies outside. This should be easily remedied with fly strips or spray. We hope to stop by again soon and often.
