Had Tinus take my pontoon out of the lake and winterize and finally deliver it to my driveway. Not a single problem, considering another local marina said my driveway was too hard...."whine" Ben the driver was careful, friendly, on time, and finished the work quickly. I know that I can trust Tinus and will have them back out in the spring to put the boat back into the water for another season. Checkmate couldn't deliver based on the issue of them not getting parts financing etc. I was sure I was going to loose my mo day, I was aggressively trying to get my money back in a bit that will never exist. Bought a used boat from here a year ago. Called them for help with some service after an issue after being ghosted by a few other people. It all started great and I was told I'd be "taken care of" since we purchased the boat from them. Was in contact via email as well and was told they'd send someone out at the end of the week. After a week (and more) passed, tried to get back in contact and was completely ignored by Jake and was never in contact with him again. I realize it's a busy time but at least have the common courtesy and customer service to get back in touch with a customer and give an update. This was a starter boat for us and we're purchasing a new one and will be taking our business elsewhere. Very disappointed that I wasted weeks waiting for them to get back in touch with me. Absolute worst experience of my life. Bought a brand new boat from this joke of a place. It took over 3 months to receive the boat. There was no part of the boat that didn't have issues. Tinus has maintained two of my boats and they have been first-rate in every encounter. My first boat (cheap road-side special) required some serious work to make it mechanically sound (fuel pumps to carb work, etc). Tinus transformed it from a headache into something reliable. After booking a pontoon rental through their website and receiving email confirmation of said booking, I subsequently received a voice message stating that this was an error, and there are no pontoons available to rent. The voice message indicated that I should call them back to "discuss options." Upon calling back, the only option offered was a full refund for the boat rental! How generous and thoughtful of them considering my rental will not be used due to their system error. I have an older jet boat. Called all around and couldn't find a repair shop that would work on it. Called Tinus and said that they would check it out and fix it. I figured it would be a week or two before they would get around to working on it. Two days later they called me and said it was done, I couldn't believe it. So far I've taken it out once and it appears to be fixed and working correctly. I"ll be going to Tinus from now on for all my work. I agree with one of the other reviews..........'the dealership you choose to work with is as important as the boat brand you buy'. I have bought two boats (Bryant boats) from Tinus Marine over the past 6 years. I have always experienced excellent customer service, responsiveness, and honesty. The service techs have had no problem coming out to the lake to service my boat; they were responsive and did a timely job. I have had limited experience with other dealers in the area, but was not impressed with the lack of customer service and responsiveness. One dealer wouldn't return my phone calls or emails in a timely fashion when I inquired about a boat for sale; guess I will never try doing business with them again. Every time I walk into Tinus Marine, employees say hello and are family friendly. In addition, the boat brands they carry are excellent quality; Bryant and Malibu boats are of excellent quality and workmanship. I would highly recommend Tinus Marine! read more

I purchased a used pontoon boat from Tinus Marine. I was told the boat was a "Tinus boat", that Tinus had performed all the maintenance and full inspection on the boat, giving me the confidence to purchase it. Turns out there was a large hole in a pontoon and the engine died (totaled) in under 10 hours of operation, and never really ran well. In short Tinus basically said, "tough luck" when the problems surfaced even though we only had the boat a couple of months. Poor business...they do not call you for your status, when you call they act like they have no idea you have your boat there for service as you have to do a detailed description. They said they'd get to our boat right away so we left it there without the cover on. They NEVER worked on it for 5 days plus the weekend when it rained a lot. Picked it up...FULL of water, said they oiled controls to the tune of $100 +!! We took it home and tried to drain it but very wet! Took it out on the lake and it won't run!! Water in the gas!! Took it back immediately...we will get to it right away. 7 days later...no calls, haven't worked on it. Last Friday it was pulled it to get worked on and today it was parked across the street and we called...oh, the mechanic has been out of town!!! BAD business! Same as previous review...my dad did a lot of business with them and now so have we!! NO MORE...picking up boat to take elsewhere!! read more

I'm of the opinion that the dealership you choose to work with is as important of a choice as the brand of boat you end up buying and Tinus is the biggest reason I've bought the same brand each time I've upgraded. I probably walk into the dealership 4-5 times a year and everyone has always been very helpful, whether I'm looking to buy a new boat or just a spark plug. It truly feels like a family atmosphere. Two of the three boats that I've owned I've purchased from them and the sales process and pricing was fair each time. I don't see the dickering and inflated posted prices that I see at other dealerships. When I've had warranty issues they've been responsive, worked with me each time and come out to the lake rather than me needing to bring my boat in when the problem has been fixable on the water. Every dealership has its areas where it can improve, but between Tinus and the other dealerships me or my friends have dealt with in the lake country area I can't imagine going elsewhere. read more

Rented a pontoon boat from Tinus for a week on Lake Beulah. When we returned the boat at the dock we met a gentleman who quickly slammed the boat up on the boat trailer and said everything was good. He started to untie the boat lines and hand them to us when we informed them that they belonged on the boat. Before he left we asked him again to go over the boat with us and he again said everything was fine. A week later we get a charge on our credit card for damage to the prop and missing boat lines. REALLY!!! They don't have a check list and then they charge you for damages after they tell you things are fine?? I would not rent a boat from them ever again and would not recommend them to anyone. read more

these guys are the best in the area by far! i have an older flightcraft ski boat that sat for 15 years and the carburetor needed to be rebuilt. everywhere i called people wanted between 450-600 bucks plus two months lead time. these guys not only rebuilt it, they restored it to as new condition for $350. since this was a bench job, they even went the extra mile and offered to meet me at the lake to help me tune it up. our family has been buying parts from these guys for years and never once have they ever disappointed us!
