Extremely well-maintained and clean. This time one of my guests (I won't name names) lowered one of the boat's anchors, and it came untied. It sank to the bottom of the lake and we couldn't retrieve it. We were a little worried that we'd have to pay for it, but the staff at Beachside was extremely understanding and cool about it. When we arrived, John reviewed all safety info with our group, made sure we had enough life jackets for the kiddos, and showed us the best swimming areas on the map, etc. The boat itself was in great shape and very clean. Lots of parking is available at a very short walking distance. Tuesday and thursday evenings have water skiing shows going on. Tuesday , being the practice in thursday being the show. Every wednesday has live music located right next to the beach. Pontoon boats in kayaks are available for rental at a business right around the corner. Multiple food options located right across the street , from the beach. This beach is free and open to the public.

For our purpose (kayaking), it's a no-go. It's has more of a pond vibe (both in size and wildlife) and just really isn't a good spot for kayaking (or paddleboarding for that matter). There are signs that say no boats (not sure if that includes kayaks). All in all, it's just not the best spot for it. There is a platform/dock that extends over the lake that we saw some folks fishing from it while we were there. There are a couple benches for sitting while fishing or you could easily bring your own chairs as well. I read that they stock the lake with fish so could be a nice spot for that. My dad is more into fishing from the banks and the foliage at the banks here makes this not the best spot for that either. That said it is a lovely lake and there's a pretty nice trail that extends around it that would be good for either biking or walking. We walked it while we were there and it doesn't take very long to traverse the entire loop around the lake and the views of the lily pad adorned lake were lovely. One note I'll make is that there was an unfortunate amount of trash in the lake near the doc which was such a bummer. But, beyond that sad note--a great spot for an evening stroll.

It's Situated conveniently between Milwaukee and Madison, serving as more than just a campsite, but a great spot to hike, fish, and swim. It's a really big park (literally 100 sites!) so there is plenty of peaceful outdoor space to enjoy. We were lucky enough to snag an electric site, which comes in handy for our RV. Beyond the RV we had two tents, and everything fit comfortably. This site in particular was tucked back close to the lake, but I can see how the outskirt sites closer to the highway might be not as well enjoyed. This campground is fairly wooded with plenty of shade which we appreciated. All of the grounds are well-kept, including the paved pathways throughout. We loved the various playgrounds for our kiddos too. The lake itself has a fishing pier, solid sand area for swimming/hanging in the warmer months, a boat launch, adjacent restrooms that are clean, and lots of walking paths surrounded. All in all, it was a goodie and we had an enjoyable time.

Restrooms/Showers dated and not the cleanest but useable. The campsites back up to a busy road with lots of traffic noise late ino the night. Sounds like motorcycle races go on after dark. We had to use our air conditioner to drown out traffic noice. Will probably find another campground next time in this area

There are 3.5 mi of walking/running trails along water and through a wooded area, I would say there and back. If you like beauty and trail running, it's useful. Also it is home to many birds and animals some of which only reside there. There is a breeding time for frogs and turtles which is a great time to nature hike with kids as well and you would be assured to see many. Dog friendly, required to be on leash during bird breeding and nesting times. Many fish here, I do not. You can canoe or kayak when the water is high enough and it usually is. There is hunting as well but I do not and have never had a problem running on the trail along side hunters. I would say visit. Also Frog Alley Greenhouses is right down the street and has some of the best vegetation for purchase and a lot of information and advice.
