For our purpose (kayaking), it's a no-go. It's has more of a pond vibe (both in size and wildlife) and just really isn't a good spot for kayaking (or paddleboarding for that matter). There are signs that say no boats (not sure if that includes kayaks). All in all, it's just not the best spot for it. There is a platform/dock that extends over the lake that we saw some folks fishing from it while we were there. There are a couple benches for sitting while fishing or you could easily bring your own chairs as well. I read that they stock the lake with fish so could be a nice spot for that. My dad is more into fishing from the banks and the foliage at the banks here makes this not the best spot for that either. That said it is a lovely lake and there's a pretty nice trail that extends around it that would be good for either biking or walking. We walked it while we were there and it doesn't take very long to traverse the entire loop around the lake and the views of the lily pad adorned lake were lovely. One note I'll make is that there was an unfortunate amount of trash in the lake near the doc which was such a bummer. But, beyond that sad note--a great spot for an evening stroll.

A gem of a parkway that stretches from the southern end of Greenfield Park in West Allis, all the…read moreway down to the Milwaukee/Racine County line, where it kind of straddles the county line heading towards the lake. The river, itself, continues into Racine County. Not all of it is for cars, not all of it is specifically bike trails and not all of it is accessible unless you're on foot and want to walk through weeds and wildflowers taller than you (no actual trails). I have personally been on it from it's start in West Allis all the way to the Milwaukee Sports Complex in Franklin. You will be in the city and the country, passing major shopping areas and farm fields along the way. Bring a camera, sunscreen and water and take a relaxing bike ride, enjoying the scenery and nature around you. You won't be disappointed. 101/2015

Extremely well-maintained and clean. This time one of my guests (I won't name names) lowered one of the boat's anchors, and it came untied. It sank to the bottom of the lake and we couldn't retrieve it. We were a little worried that we'd have to pay for it, but the staff at Beachside was extremely understanding and cool about it. Will definitely rent from Beachside again!
