A quaint little Mexican restaurant that had great food! There is no parking lot but ample street parking out front. We walked in the front door and wanted to sit in their outdoor patio area in which you walk around the side alley of the restaurant to the back. It's half covered and half open patio seating. The staff here was very attentive and good. Just once we got our meal it was hard to find out server again to get the check and pay. Free chips and salsa are brought to the table. The verde salsa was much better than the red salsa. I ordered the hibiscus juice which was sweet and perfectly sour and refreshing in this heat wave. We ordered the tostadas and burritos chistosos. The food came out rather quick as we were one of two tables there. My tostadas were good just extremely messy to eat. The two mini burritos the beef was far superior to the chicken one. The crema queso sauce was the best part of the burritos for it was packed with flavor. The beans and rice were just okay as they really didn't have any type of flavor. Pricing was average depending on what you ordered and most meals came with a side of rice and beans as well. read more

I had seen this place online and finally got a chance to try it out when I went to get my cats spayed about 10 mins away from their restaurant, this was a year ago and till this day its one of the most authentic mexican restaurants I have been to, very simple, great taste and equally great service. Tino's has the best salsa! If you ask, they will pack it in bigger containers and sell it to you in bulk to use at home. We used it in our tamales and they came out fantastic. My family also loves their tacos and their traditional decor. They have some entertainment out back, but we enjoy it inside. read more

After a long day, I needed something comforting for dinner so I looked on the map and saw a few options that peaked my interest. Tino's is located in a Hispanic neighborhood next to a small grocery store. I was lucky to find parking right by the restaurant as someone was leaving as I pulled up. Inside, they have a small space with some tables but they also have seating out back from what I heard. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. I settled on the tacos as I was hungry but not ravenous. The order came with four tacos but I was full after 3. One thing they do different is that they only use one tortilla whereas other places use two. The two tortilla approach is better IMO because your taco is less likely to fall apart. If I'm back in Red Bank, I'll be paying Tino's another visit. read more

I have been meaning to try Tino's Mexican Kitchen and finally ordered food from the restaurant this weekend. I was so happy I finally decided to try it because the food was so good! I ordered the Al pastor tacos and they were AMAZING! They were super flavorful and the pineapple just took it to another level! My husband was very happy with the burrito chistosos and the chipotle crema sauce. The fajita were also very tasty and held up nicely even though we got the food delivered. I've been by this place a few times and have been hesitant to try it, until today. Walking in the door you get that open flame BBQ smell that just invites you in. Watching the rotisserie with chicken cooking is hypnotic. On to the food, I ordered the Tino's Trio to get a little taste of several meats, (pork ribs, chicken, and sausage) to go. When I got back to my hotel I was extremely surprised by the tenderness and flavor of the meats. Holy S*it was it amazing!!! One of the best meals I've had in a while. The rice was cooked to perfection and the beans were just as accommodating. Portion size was good, a great value. I wish I had stayed and dined rather than getting it to go so I could absorb the BBQ smell while I ate. I will definitely give Tino's a revisit, if you haven't tried them I recommend you do sooner rather than later. Next time I will try one of their authentic Mexican dishes. We found the food to be just ok, but that could be because we both had dishes covered in Chipotle cream sauce that was bland. We ordered the enchiladas suizas and the burritos chistosos both were just fair. I ordered dishes covered with chipotle cream sauces at other Mexican places, and it had so much more Mexican flavor. Their sauce was creamy, but bland. The dishes both came with rice and beans. The rice tasted like it was an instant box rice, but the beans were good. Food was good I had the sopes although the tortilla was a bit hard but it was yummy, my friend had the enchiladas he said the tortilla was undercooked, so the enchilada would fall apart. The service was fantastic though our waitress Sarah was very friendly and kind. Went to Tino's on a Friday night around 6:30, with a party of 5. We were seated right away and quickly given chips and salsa. FYI: the inside is smaller, so if you have a larger party, definitely make a reservation / call ahead. When the weather is nicer, they have a really nice outside dining area, that opens up the space. When it comes to the food, the portions are LARGE! They constantly refill the chips and salsa, without having to ask. Big fan of spicy, which their red salsa is. On the other hand, their salsa verde is more mild. We got a few appetizers (tortilla soup and shrimp cocktail.) All were great! In terms of meals, we had everything from skirt steak, to burritos, and cheese quesadillas. Each meal comes with rice and a small vegetable meldrum. Everyone enjoyed their food and portions. Their rice and tortillas are light and a nice accompaniment to the meals. The two mini burritos (chicken and steak) are in this chipotle sauce that is to DIE for. (I get this for my quesadillas.) I do have to say my favorite part of Tino's is Tino, the owner. He is always present at his restaurant, with a smile on his face, talking to his customers and making you feel at home. 3 of us went at 1:00 on a Monday. We were literally the only ones there, which was worrisome. On a scale from 1 to 10 (with 10 being best) the food was a 3, and the service was a 1. The waitress was non-existent. We sat outside in the back, and it was as if she just forgot about us. Which is funny since we were the only customers. We had the mini burritos (comes with one chicken, one steak) and the beef chimichanga. Both dishes had peas, corn, & carrots in them. I think the trio is just in their rice mixture and both the chimichanga and burritos had rice inside. The chimichanga was very crispy, which I loved, but it lacked so much flavor I only ate 2 bites. I got the shrimp chimichanga and it was fantastic - very fresh shrimp and the side salsas are such a great addition for a little more spice. The guac was so fresh too and nicely seasoned with lime, it was a great pairing with the chips (ate every last crumb lol). It seems they also make their hard taco shells in a similar fashion as the chips. My partner had the pork hard tacos and was raving about them! Hit or miss. The first several times were absolutely delicious, some of the best mexican food we've had in Monmouth County. Last night was the first time we ate inside. There's no A/C inside and was a little dirty, especially the menus. One of our orders was wrong, but Tino corrected it immediately and it was good. We always love the rice and beans, but last night they had no taste at all. So bland. 30 minutes after having steak fajitas, one of us had food poisoning. He was the only one who ate steak and was sick. The other main dishes were tasty but not as hot (temp-wise) as usual. We're going to wait until the fall to try again. Tino's has delivered time and time again. Twice in two weeks we have ordered delivery from Tinos, and it has been DELICIOUS. Real, fresh ingredients that have been just grilled to perfection. We have gotten the Parilla Mexicana over and over again, and it's absolutely perfect for two people and then some for lunch the next day. This is a grill mix: comes with grilled chicken cuts, shrimp, marinated beef strips, and spicy pork ribs. It also comes with fresh made tortillas, grilled cactus and jalapeños (yummm) and a fresh pico de Gallo, as well as two other sauces, beans and rice. Wow. So so good, so fresh, and so fun to put together your taco. We ALWAYS get a guacamole or two as well. The guac is always so fresh and perfectly seasoned, and I am hardly ever impressed by guacamole. Just enough lime, salt, cilantro, and freshly fried, crispy chips. Delivery is done through Tinos and sometimes takes a bit of time, but honestly expected- it's always been on Friday or Saturday nights and is a little over an hour. Honestly perfectly fine for us, we are happy to have food delivered without Grubhub or Uber eats taking a huge percentage. My husband absolutely cannot get enough of this place and is always his go to when asked where he wants to eat. Tinos is an absolute gem. We love it. read more
