A recurring issue with this place is they are never open when they say they are open. UPDATE YOUR WEBSITE OR HOURS IF YOU AREN'T GOING TO BE OPEN!!! Food is great can't complain about that. Just disheartening when you check online says it's open drive to the place and then they are closed!!!

We found this place walking down the street and it looked good! We had the guacamole as an appetizer which was good. Needed more red onions but was very tasty! Then I had the carnitas taco and shrimp taco and both were fantastic! (And I never order carnitas. This was amazing) My friend had the steak taco and the ahi tuna taco. We enjoyed the experience and loved our server, Ava! She gave great advice. Will come again

A friend of my suggested this place and I wasn't disappointed. We came here for tacos since it was Tuesday, of course. The food here was pretty good. I'm kind of a taco connoisseur, so I take my tacos very seriously. The fish taco i had was very good. It was saucy and flavorful, and the fish was so soft and perfectly cooked. My burrito, on the other hand, could've been better. I got a chicken burrito, but other than the chicken, it was more on the bland side. The service was pretty good. The people here are nice/chill. The food came out pretty quick, too. I might come back here cause it's in a pretty good location. The vibe here is that of a hip Mexican spot. I liked liked it. It was as traditional as other places, but I'm liked the hip side of it.

Not a happy customer. The corn esquites was small and had only a squirt of chipotle sauce and a sprinkle of cheese on it. Thankfully they brought me extra sauce when I asked. The real disappointment was my carne asada burrito that barely had any steak it. I had 2 bites with steak. I was extremely disappointed with the portion of steak in the burrito. I paid $16 for a burrito that was basically all rice. The chips and salsa were good, but we needed to add salt to the flavorless chips. I was also annoyed that there was no sign for the restroom. I accidentally walked into the adjacent restaurant thinking it was the bathroom. The decor consists of piñatas hanging from the ceiling. Also, you must pay for parking.

I was a little nervous about the service after some of the recent reviews, but we had a great server - Libby. She told us the specials right away and was just the right amount of attentive! They offer $5 Classic Margs on Wednesday nights; smaller than the regular but perfect size for a work night. Two of us started with the large nachos with chorizo which were delicious but we might've been ok with a small. Then we shared the pork Hexi-Mexi which is like the Taco Bell crunch wrap supreme that came with pappas fritas; the wrap was a little under seasoned and missing the crunch that I was looking for, but the fries were delicious with chipotle mayo and cheese. Large chorizo nachos

I just had a very good experience ordering takeout in person. The server Fatima was very knowledgeable and friendly. She gave me quite a couple options when I told her I was in a rush and that was helpful to me. The atmosphere was vibrant, colorful and inviting and definitely somewhere I would have a birthday party with friends on the weekend. I ordered the chicken tortilla soup and I am impressed that they used fresh avocado and it doesn't taste frozen or reheated ( if it IS then I am tricked easily ) . I also ordered the veggy taco and it's delicious. I really am loving the care they put into the fresh ingredients and the affordability right down the street from my work

Loteria is a fun spot with some solid Mexican fare. The small salsa is a big portion so stick with that one if you are going for the salsa. The enchilada's were delicious as well. The tacos were good with the tortilla tasting like it was homemade. The carnitas taco one was legit. The corn was good was good as well. They also make a mean margherita! Try this place out. 4 stars.

Happy Tuesday Adventurers! I took my BFF to this place for his belated dinner since we were so excited to try the variety of tacos they had on menu. We decided to try the pineapple margarita and spicy margarita--pretty good choices if you ask me. The spicy marg needs to be stirred a bit otherwise you'll get a mouthful of sweet with no spice until the after taste. The pineapple was really good but they should add a slice of pineapple as a garnish for fun. We also ordered La Sirenita , Carne Asada Taco, El Jefe, & Cerdo Tacos. I really enjoyed the La Sirenita--savory and delicious. The shrimps are whole and hard to keep the tacos together LOL. I also got the carne asada tacos with all the fixins--my go to taco and these were so juicy! My friend got the other 3 and he LOVED them. They are street style tacos so expect to order a few or more. We were debating on ordering more but wanted to go somewhere else for drinks. Our waitress was very attentive and super helpful with the menu. We sat outside--picnic style table with a few small (2top) tables as well. I def recommend checking this place out if you're in the Asbury area.

Delish birria tacos. Light drinks. Good service. It's within walking distance from my house so I frequent here.

SUPER UNDERRATED. Great tacos, super reasonably priced as well. Delicious margaritas. Can't go wrong. Live in town and we love it.

First time here, and it was very easy to get a reservation. The place was definitely a cool vibe…read moreinside and we got seated right away. Our server was lovely and super attentive. We got a few different kinds of drinks some including margarita's and one was a kiwi flavor drink. I think it was awesome that they gave us the option for different kind of salted rims. They're mostly known for their shared plate concepts so we got several items and split everything. We got the tostadas which was an interesting plate of a couple different things, the nachos which I loved, the ceviche which was ok-not your typical ceviche and bit too spicy for me, the salad which I really liked, camerones which the table liked, the pork tacos which I heard were very spicy, the chicken tacos which were good and the steak which was hands down my favorite and the yuca mash was so yummy and different. For the steak, you can only get it medium rare or well done which I is 2 complete ends of the spectrum. We are medium people, so we ended up getting a medium rare. It was definitely a lot of food, but it's a good amount for all of us and it was a nice way to try the menu. I definitely will be back.

Ordered spicy margaritas, classic margaritas and sangria and were very happy with all of them. Food was delicious with one exception. Multiple orders of pork tacos cuz they're that good. Tostadas were top notch as well. Only disappointment was the chicharron. Avocado crema slaw that came with it was very good but pork was way too fatty. Came out pale white instead of crispy brown and tasted like it looked. Service by Liz was phenomenal. It was Easter so it was nice having the place not quite to ourselves but almost. My second time there and definitely worth a revisit. Sorry for the lack of pics

This is not your ordinary Mexican restaurant! It is one of the best you will find in this country…read moreand I have not eaten better Mexican food whether in NYC, Bay Area, Chicago, LA, Arizona, and even Mexico! Notably, the specialities are Oaxacan. So we stuck to those and ordered a chicken with mole negro and tlayudas (without meat). Wow!!! These were both incredibly delicious. The mole was the most delicious I had ever eaten anywhere including at Oaxacan food festivals and I nearly licked the plate clean!! Every taste of this was heavenly...you could taste the chili and chocolate and many other ingredients complex and rich ingredients that created a chocolate nutty aromatic sauce with a smooth and deep chili burn. The chicken in which it was braised was among the most tender and fall-off-the-bone moist chicken I have ever eaten. The rice and black beans it came with were equally delicious. The tlayudas was my first: wow!!! It was so complex and balanced like the mole, but much lighter and with more complex textures. There was what seemed like a baked flour tortilla buttered with black bean paste and different cheeses including Oaxacan fresh homemade cheese and cheddar cheese and even a type of creamy white cheese topped and layered with fresh lettuce and avocado and vegetables as well as pickled cactus to create a panoply of flavors and textures, light, delicious and perfectly balanced in each bite. Thank you for this wonderful culinary experience!!

You will feel like you're in a family restaurant in a small town in Mexico.. there is no tacky decor or even a bar. It might actually be a little intimidating for some lol You come here for homemade food, not ambiance. The mole is made fresh and was great in the tamales. Squash blossom quesadillas were delicious and a huge portion. Huevos rancheros also hit the spot. The fresh OJ was super sweet. They had tons of breads but we didn't try them. Looking forward to stopping in again next time I'm in AP.

Didnt partake in $25 valet parking but was sorely tempted. The indoors are beautiful, white walls and pretty decorations, large bar. Service: Terrific. 5 stars. Julia was awesome, helpful and honest. I did tell her I cant eat spicy stuff although I enjoy lightly spicy stuff. Drinks: I tried the Lebanese red wine. Very nice medium body. My husband tried the old fashioned which he said were good. Starters: we had the salatim which is 6 different dips and two piping hot large pita breads. I liked 4 out of 6 dips while hubby liked 5 out of 6. We both loved the hummus, salad, lima bean, and eggplant ones. This kind of eating is always fun. The discovery! STAR: The star is the halloumi. Fried cheese with lightly sweet crispy crust honeyed and topped with a light refreshing salad and pomenegrate seeds. Our server charmingly apologized she forgot to warn me about the codfish chili being potentially hot but I ended up trying and enjoying it, although I felt the fish was slightly overcooked. Not rubbery but a little too crusty and not flaky enough. I did not complain though because her dessert recommendation for malabi, a custard with oat crisps, was lovely. Nice to share with hubby and cap off the night. Temperature control: we sat somewhat near the front so were hit with cold air anytime someone entered. My husband is recovering from back surgery so walking was difficult for him. I appreciate he planned such a nice outing for us despite his walking challenges. All in all, we would return and explore cocktails and other menu items.
