I didn't see any parking besides pay parking for Mon-Sat. Heads up the front door is not an entrance. The entrance is actually on the side. The restaurant has a chill causal family friendly vibe. The service was good , I have no complaints there. They serve us chips and salsa after seating us . The food its self was alright. Bistec de ranchero contains scallops, mushrooms, onions, beef slices with bbq sauce. You can choose the spice level in which we did choose medium. I don't think medium is spicy at all. It came with some beans and rice. Mid taste. As for the combo platter, the flauta is crispy/ crunchy but the chicken was a tab bit too dry. The burrito I noticed only really contains ground beef . I was hoping the burrito would have more veggies . That I was a bit disappointed. read more

Food here is awful and overpriced!! I do not recommend at all and you are better off going to Chipotle. The menu says table side guacamole which they do not do they just bring it from the kitchen. I ordered veggie quesadillas and they put broccoli, carrots, and all weird vegetables in it. Veggie quesadillas should be just cheese and peppers. My husband got quesadillas which he asked for corn tortilla and they gave him flour tortillas and when they came out he questioned the waitress and she lied and said they were corn. Another restaurant jumping in with these ridiculous money grabs! First...a $6.50 non-cash surcharge as a line item right on the bill! How do they even know I'm not paying cash? Been going here for a very long time now and it never gets old. Anything you get on the menu really is amazing. I usually go for the flautas with chicken. When I went in this weekend with a couple friends I got the loco burrito with chipotle sauce. A lot of places try and do their own sauces on the burritos and juanitos kills it with their creamy chipotle sauce. Best in the game. Another great part is the atmosphere when you walk in. They have outdoor seaTing which is nice in the summer. The inside is very festive and decorated. You get the full experience coming here. It is also BYOB which is a plus. Shrimp in mole sauce is delicious. Just spicy enough to make it interesting. A medley of spices blended together in a thick, dark sauce. I find it addictive. Chili rellenos stuffed with cheese then battered and fried. The batter is light and completely non-greasy. I get them covered in a tangy, fresh verde sauce that I have been ordering for years. The entrees come with rice and beans. Sometimes it is juicy black beans and sometimes creamy refried pinto beans. The service is always, prompt, polite and friendly. We mainly get take out these days because hubby picks it up on his way home from work. The orders are always complete and ready when expected. read more

We stopped here not knowing what to expect. Turned out to be a great find. The chips and salsa were good. The chorizo queso was excellent. I'm not a huge fan of this place, have visited only once before. Had a team lunch today and we ordered a ton of stuff (32 of us, so pretty much everything on the menu). I'm not a fan of how everything on the menu is "smothered in cheese" (their own wording). The chips and guacamole was good, chicken empanadas had only dough and no chicken. I had the chorizo tacos and the chorizo was great, no complaints there. 5 stars for the chorizo. Rice and beans were decent, nothing to rave about. The really weird downside was they came out with the dishes, calling out their names and expecting us to indicate what we had ordered. Pretty unacceptable when you're catering to a party of 32! Also, I asked for mole and never got it. This is the sole reason for the 3 stars. I'm more partial to the other smaller establishments in Red Bank that serve more authentic Mexican food, in my humble opinion. read more

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place before. I've been here many times and it never disappoints. We had dinner Saturday early evening, 7/23, because I had a craving for Mexican, and we hadn't been here in a while. If I lived nearby, I would probably eat here twice a week. I believe this is the best Mexican food in a 20 mile radius from my home in Matawan. If you can't find a parking spot in the street, park at the train station, it's a 1 minute walk. For drinkers, I believe it's byob. My wife had the taco salad with chicken, she has no hope of finishing it, so she had the rest for dinner tonight. The chicken is grilled I think, but tender and juicy beyond belief. I had my go to dish, enchiladas Del Mar. it comes with rice and refried beans, which you don't need because the 3 enchiladas are stuffed with shrimp, lobster and scallops. There's also a habanero cream sauce that spices it up and adds a lot of flavor. They're topped off with a delicious blend of cheeses. I devoured every morsel. I went home stuffed which I do not like to do. I couldn't help myself. Oh, and the house made chips and salsa are incredible too. There is a lot of Mexican restaurants nearby, do not skip this gem. read more

I will give this spot the benefit of the doubt because my family has been coming here for years and they enjoy the food and the experience every time. I will call this one a case of maybe I ordered the wrong thing. I wont short them of my experience tho. The nachos with beef were an excellent appetizer to start off with. So many toppings with so little time, everyone is munching away and you just want that perfect chip with the steak, sour cream, guacamole, tomato, all in one. My entree is where I might have been mistaken, but so were they. They have a soft shell crab special on the menu, and its nearing the very end of the season. If theres anything you should know about soft shell crab, only get it fresh, and you can only get it fresh in season. You should be able to bite right through the shell, like an al dente pasta, and bite right into soft delectable crab meat. The situation here was the crab was too matured, and you could not bite through the shell at all parts. I ended up eating this more kike half soft shell, half snow crab, fishing and breaking through the shell for meat. What I will give them is cooking the shell inside a broth regardless was an amazing idea that yield this light fragrant wine broth. I mixed it in with my rice, my veggies, everything had to touch this sauce and be amplified with amazing flavor. Looking at the rest of the table, my father in law has two burritos, my wife orders the same and my mother in law has a gorgeous steak salad that I ended up wishing I had! The portion sizes are incredible, so my wife couldnt finish and I ended up eating her chicken burrito the next day, and it was packed with meat and salsa. I will 100% give this place another chance, ordering the steak salad with tortillas next time. read more

I stumbled upon Juanitos online and am very glad I found this gem! We ordered the chicken flautas and chicken burrito & beef chimichanga combo. They use Doordash and even on a Saturday we received the food promptly and the order was accurate. The chicken flautas come with tomatillo sauce, tomatoes, lettuce, and sour cream. I ordered a side of the creamy chipotle sauce and that took the meal to the next level. My husband ordered the combo of chicken burrito and beef chimichanga and has enough leftover for lunch. The portion sizes are large and the entrees come with a side of rice and beans. Everything was so good I want to go eat at the restaurant to get the full experience. One thing I wish I would've known is that this was a BYOB place because I would've def brought a bottle or two. Not really pleased with the service tonight. First of all no reservations which I totally get. Not an issue. We waited for just over a half hour for our table. While we are patiently waiting for our table a group of people came in and sat right down. I ask what just happened how can they be seated before us. They had a reservation.... Are you KIDDING ME....WTF. We finally got seated and ordered our food. They brought out our main course before our appetizer. ISMFH.... Take it back and bring us our apps. Juanito's is one of the better Mexican restaurants in Red Bank and there are a LOT. This location is BYOB, no frills, fast service and has a front and back section. I've sat in both and just prefer the back section personally as it's away from the front door. This last trip I ordered a beef chimichanga and tamale combo and my girlfriend got the chorizo appetizer and black bean soup as a meal. The beef (strips) chimichanga was the best thing I've ever had from there, so good. The chicken tamale was ehh at best, I haven't had many in my life but I think it would be better with a meat that doesn't dry out so much like chicken. The black bean soup was pretty good and the chorizo appetizer is one of my favorite chorizo dishes I've had. It has a little kick to it and comes with some tortillas. I went with the salsa verde chicken burrito, very good, I finished all my food. One thing I will add about Juanitos, being that I have dined here many times, it definitely depends on what you order. The food is usually pretty good, although I do think it's lacking the true authentic Mexican taste. Still, if you want good food and you're not too hard strong on authenticity Juanito's is good! Been to the one in Jackson a very long time... don't remember much about the food for some reason.. but because my husband had such good memories of growing up around the corner from the one in Jackson and eating there a number of times, I was excited to check it out. My cousin threw her rehearsal dinner there, so it was even better to eat for free. ;-) It was a VERY rainy and muggy evening, so probably not the best time to sit in the covered back patio which felt like we were outside, without the rain.. That set the tone for the evening for me, but that's nothing to do with the restaurant. BYOB, which I like most of the time, but I was really craving a margarita so, that wasn't a time when I liked. LOL. The main entree ordered was a ground beef enchilada.. it was decent enough. I won't order again because I realized that I don't necessarily like GROUND beef in my enchilada. There was some grissle or bone or something in it that kind of skeeved me out... I should have gone with the chicken or even veggie option. The rice and beans were tasty enough.. Service was not really with a smile. Not the friendliest by any means. Everyone seemed annoyed.. or maybe their mood was set by the rain as well? Ok.. let me keep it real, the 3 stars is for the guacamole alone.. Man, I haven't had guac that good in a very long time. I may venture to say it was the best I've tasted? With such a great location between the train station and Count Basie Theatre, you can't go wrong for dinner before a show. Also great for lunch! Service is top notch.
