Dined here with a group of boys one evening recently after Six Flags. Every single dish hit the spot on a chilly cold evening. Cute decor delicious food nice service I believe it's BYOB. Back for a much anticipated visit for dinner. Given the increase in food and labor costs, I feel that their prices are very good. The two of us had a terrific dinner for a little less than $50. Service was excellent, with our server, Quiroz(?) doing a lot of walking, keeping the dining room happy. Some might feel that the wait time for food is a little long, but it is prepared to order and served piping hot! We were immediately approached, recieved wine glasses (BYOB!) and a large basket of chips with two sauces, red and green. Both excellent with the green being a little milder. We started with an order of Chicken Empanadas (3) - hot and delicious! Entrees were Tacos de Camaron (3) and Enchiladas Suiza with Spicy Pork - these were absolutely delicious. I have eaten at La Casa De La Tia 2 times in the past month. This is the 2nd time tacos were ordered and there was NO CHEESE on them. Just meat, cilantro and onions on a tortilla, no lettuce or tomatoes either. This is the strangest thing to not have cheese on a taco unless you choose not to have cheese. The food is alright. I came here while the kids were at Six Flags on a random google search and had zero expectations. Admittedly, I can be a bit snobby as a food critic. That being said, I was pleasantly surprised! I kept it simple and ordered the chicken enchiladas it was really good, with healthy portions, and a side of rice & beans. I also ordered the Tamarindo juice which, again, was a huge serving, refreshing and tasted natural. I Paid under $25 for all of this. We ordered the El Trio and it came with breaded shrimp, steak, chicharrones, guacamole, beans, tortilla and rice. The beans got mixed with guacamole so guac was swimming in the liquid from the beans. This place is new to the neighborhood and so worth the wait. The food was delicious and portions are of epic size so please come hungry. It does take time for the food to come out so make sure to be patience and gauc we had the small size which is picture. The service was great and attentive. The restaurant has tables inside that accommodate big parties and two table outside. They had popsicle but I was too full to try them. Now I need a nap to digest all this food. read more

I can give 4 stars but not 5, yet. Hubby and I stopped in for dinner, we ordered horchata and hibiscus drinks. Hubby ordered the MI Ranchito, they didn't have cactus that night, so his meal didn't have it, but the pork crackling was delicious. I ordered the three taco meal, it was very good. We ordered the chili relleno dinner to go for Mini-Me. I asked if it was poblano or Anaheim, ( you can use both). The server said poblano, and there are two with beans & rice. However, here is where we lose stars. The chili relleno. This is a basic Mexican dish. We brought it home and Mini-Me dug in, but quickly spit her bite out. When she called me over to look, I was very surprised. Both had their seeds, skin still on [from what I could see] and there was a square chunk of cheese, in the middle of each, completely un-melted and a very runny watery sauce. Basically, an inedible meal. I'm chalking it up to a busy night and will need to go back and order the relleno again. If it turns out the same way, I'll be very disappointed. read more

Decided to try something different for dinner and wanted Mexican food! I ordered a beef burrito and it came with a side of fries! The burrito was a decent portion size, definitely bigger than you'd expect! It was really good but to be honest I feel as if it didn't really have to much flavor to it , it did have a a bit of a kick to it but aside from that I don't think it's anything I'd rave about.the main flavor I tasted was the taste from the sauce that's about it. If I came back I think I'd try something else on the menu! The staff was nice and the wait time for the food wasn't to long ! We stopped by on their 4th day being open and met Alex who took our order and was the nicest person we ever met working at a restaurant and was meticulous checking orders. They have tables outside and dogs are allowed. The food is delicious and reasonably priced and the service is excellent. You can also order take-out. Went tonight after a recommendation. I ordered the marinated pork taco. The tacos we're supposed to be soft. Maybe in the middle underneath the flavorless dry pork curled up pieces. It was just the meat, cilantro and raw white onions on top. The bean and rice side. That we had to ask for was awful too. No flavor and beans looked like they were just dumped out of a can. My wife had the enchiladas-- if that what you can call them. It was a soggy, tasteless,barely hot mess. Did NOT taste good or very appealing. There are pics of both dishes. We were extremely disappointed. When the waiter who was probably the mgr approached us I said-this is awful He said you can leave now. You don't have to pay for it. And just kept walking. Well today, definitely did not get better. I ordered the chicken enchiladas and my husband ordered the burrito. His burrito was fine but my meal was so salty! I had a few bites but couldn't continue eating it, so I threw out the rest and ate some of my husband's burrito. Gave them a call to let them know and the young lady who picked up, really didn't show too much concern. She did apologize but as soon as she did, she then said have a good night. There was just a little cheese in them and both the guacamole and the fresh pico de gallo were great accompaniments. Huge burrito, and the huaraches de bandera were also delicious. Since I moved from Brooklyn I have yet to find a place that serves good Mexican food like this place , I wish I had found this spot sooner lol.
