Tacos, hard shell made of flour
    Leena S.

I was at a Yelp event in the area and looking for a place to grab a bite to eat on the way home. Queso Grill was about five minutes away and right on our route home! The convenience and location were about the only positives for me. We went here thinking it was a restaurant. When in all actuality it was a Chipotle style Mexican establishment. But, it doesn't hold a candle to Chipotle. I ordered a three taco meal. It came with the choice of soft flour or corn or hard shell corn. I always go with the hard shell corn, but what I got was a hard shell, fried flour tortilla. Similar to taco salad shell or a chimichanga. I didn't like the shell at all. I thought maybe I read the menu wrong and that was what it came with. But, afterwards I double checked and it should have came with hard shell corn. Overall, three wasn't much flavor to the salad or toppings. We also got a Burrito, which was better than the tacos.

I found this little gem while hiking with a friend! And I'm happy I did. They serve mostly Mexican fast food but they do have other options such as burgers, and gyros. I have only ordered Mexican the two times I've been but I feel ehhh about the idea of restaurants having such a wide spectrum when it comes to the food the prepare. NEVERTHELESS it was pretty darn good! I got the nachos supreme and that is exactly what it was! It seemed like they gave me endless supply of nachos LOADED with toppings such as cheese ground beef jalapeños verde sauce, guac, olives ( which I wasn't really a fan off) beans and sour cream to top it off! I topped it off with a Tangerine Mexican soda and it sure was delish! NOW IF THEY CAN SOLVE THE SOGGY CHIPS AT THE BOTTOM OF NACHOS EPIDEMIC I WOULD SING THEIR PRAISES ALL DAY LONG!!! The environment here is extremely laid back and the price was reasonable but on the verge of pricey BUT the portion size makes it worth it. All around I definitely go back.

I am a nacho and taco junkie and every time I find a new good spot, I fall in love. I ordered the nacho supreme with chicken and loco habanero sauce (warning, if you get this sauce, order it on the side instead) but it was delicious! Will definitely be coming back anytime I'm in jersey.

Crispy chicken sliders & cajun fries

Ordered crispy chicken sliders with no cheese then i decided i wanted cheese but cheddar jack instead of american and only on one slider (comes with three) and i wanted cajun fries instead of regular....the cashier was super nice despite my picky order so customer service is always important to me, yay there. the food was pretty good too!! only was in the area for a work training but would probably come again. my coworker had a "wet" burrito and he liked it too!

Taco salad from Queso Grill! The dressing was so yummy!

Only to-go. Really. The pizza looks very popular. All the American basics for a Friday night; burgers, fries, pizza, and tacos.

Since moving to upstate NY four years ago, I only get to Good Karma when visiting family in NJ. During our latest trip we stopped at Good Karma to pick-up dinner on the way to my parent's house. We ordered the Love Bowl, Gado Gado Salad, and the Live Nachos. Issues: 1) The Gado Gada salad was a big miss. It's supposed to include lettuce, tofu, cabbage, carrots, roasted peanuts, and a sesame seed mix. There was ZERO sesame seed mix and literally ONE roasted peanut. We had asked the tofu be swapped for beans, which did happen, but basically all my wife got was a salad with lettuce and beans. 2) Live Nachos: what a HUGE disappointment. I've had these a number of times in the past and was really looking forward to these. One of my favorite parts has always been the creamy cashew sour cream. THIS TIME, there was one small dollop of the cashew cream. We basically paid $15 for a box of seasoned lettuce with 8 nacho chips -- not nearly enough chips to even eat with our seasoned lettuce. The Love Bowl, fortunately, was on par with my past experiences. However, the experience still left me questioning whether it's worth returning to Good Karma next time.

We walked in the front door and wanted to sit in their outdoor patio area in which you walk around the side alley of the restaurant to the back. It's half covered and half open patio seating. The staff here was very attentive and good. Just once we got our meal it was hard to find out server again to get the check and pay. Free chips and salsa are brought to the table. The verde salsa was much better than the red salsa. I ordered the hibiscus juice which was sweet and perfectly sour and refreshing in this heat wave. We ordered the tostadas and burritos chistosos. The food came out rather quick as we were one of two tables there. My tostadas were good just extremely messy to eat. The two mini burritos the beef was far superior to the chicken one. The crema queso sauce was the best part of the burritos for it was packed with flavor. The beans and rice were just okay as they really didn't have any type of flavor. Pricing was average depending on what you ordered and most meals came with a side of rice and beans as well.

Unfortunately, from the moment we walked in, the experience felt off. The hostess was noticeably rude and dismissive, coming across as aloof and unnecessarily sharp, which made us feel unwelcome from the start, as though she were doing us a favor by seating us. After being seated, our coffee arrived lukewarm, and the carafe did not keep it warm. When I asked the waitress if she could refresh it, she told me she would need to charge for another coffee, though she offered to heat it in the microwave. That was disappointing. Granted, we were there about two hours, but the wait staff was a bit rude, too. The food was okay, nothing special. We truly miss the previous atmosphere and business model. I'm not sure what direction the restaurant is trying to take now, but it no longer feels warm, friendly, or hospitable.

Before I left, there was a couple who came in who he badgered loudly when they asked him for suggestions. He's definitely not a people person. He does a better job being in the back of the house as the food was grilled well. I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and tried something different that I wouldn't normally gravitate towards. Lamb is not my favorite but I ordered it anyway despite coming in for the salad. I also had the lime and mint drink. Pretty expensive for a small glass and no refills. The food wasn't worth the price and the service was poor. I literally had to go to the back to ask him for extra napkins which he eventually took from an adjacent empty table. Did I mention the place was empty for most the of the time I was there? I also had to get up and go to the back to ask for more water and finally for the check. He was busy washing dishes the last time. Glad I tried something different but next time I do it won't be at cafe 28.
