I came in for a gel manicure and pedicure on 12/30/23. I have been coming here since 2015 and have had a few poor experiences, (but very far and few in between) but none that would warrant writing off the salon. Today I was paired with a nail tech named Christina. I asked to keep the length of my nails, as I have been growing them out. In addition to filing my nails down to the point where there is a burning sensation on my thumb, she also cut me multiple times. She did not address the cuts, nor provide any disinfectant practices. I am very disappointed in the hygienic practices I witnessed today. The vibe in the salon today felt off, from the mismanaged manicure, to the dirty materials, Including a dirty already used pedicure towel. I came in for a service as a loyal costumer without one complaint in the 8 years I have come here, but I can't just say nothing about today's experience. When you come for close to an $100 service, you deserve to receive that service with clean hygienic care and if accidents happen then, you deserve to have them addressed. I have decided to pause and speak the owner of the salon, Tina, to see how she handles the situation. Given that it is one employee, and not the overall experience from the many years of appointments. I am hoping I won't have to post this review and that my concerns will be addressed as a loyal customer. When I went to pay and confront Tina about the cuts and pain, she said oh and still asked if I wanted to leave a tip for that nail tech. I said given that I am in pain, I don't think that I am going to tip today. She didn't not offer any discount or sympathy for the situation. I adore this salon as a whole, especially the nail techs, Michelle and Hannah, but I do not tolerate lack of accountability and unhygienic practices. read more

be aware of their disgusting prices and price changes! my 12 yo daughter went with a friend to get a French manicure. They charged her $25 for a children's manicure when I went into the salon to ask how much children's manicure was the woman told me $10 for a 12 year old I asked how much for a French manicure she said 15. when I questioned her why my daughter was charged $25 the day before her story changed and she said well we add a $10 fee for a French manicure. That still doesn't add up to $25 according to her regular children's manicure, the woman offered to give me two dollars back , which still does not add up to her math of $10 for a children's manicure plus $10 for French manicure. read more

A horrible experience. My daughter and I went in for pedicures and had never been before. The service was non existent. From the abrupt manner and the rushed service and being bossed around, I'm surprised they're still open. I could've done just as nice a pedi at home myself and spent the 60.00 taking my daughter out to dinner instead. We won't be back. The entire staff needs a class in customer service. Not really sure these negative reviews are warranted. I've been to this location multiple times without an appointment and have been seated promptly and pampered. The location is clean, prices are not unreasonable (not cheap but not ridiculous). I've received gel manicures, regular manicures and pedicures at this location. The gel manicure has lasted over 2 weeks and my pedicure is still perfect. The foot massage and heel treatment are great and they do a decent scrub massage. For a gel manicure and a pedicure it was around $50 which isn't the best price but the quality is definitely there. I'd recommend visiting this place if you're in the area. If you're going to review this place, I do not really want to recommend this tina nails here. Basically, there is no hygiene idea at all. They don't disinfect the tools at all, but they keep their guests I was continuing. I was not satisfied with the results, and I was not satisfied with them. The color was a mess and the staff were unfriendly. Please save your money. read more

I had eyelash extensions done by Esther which looked wonderful. Six days later one of my eyes had lost most of the lashes, while the other still looked good. I walked in and Esther fixes them right away, free of charge and without me booking an appointment. Totally professional and very appreciated. I will be back! read more

I went here when I lived in Paramus because it was convenient, and they had a special where you could get a manicure/pedicure for $20 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I'm giving it two stars due to the poor customer service by some of their staff. One time I was getting my eyebrows waxed and the woman was on a portable phone. I asked her politely to please not talk on the phone while putting hot wax on my face. She sighed, and continued talking. I was pissed. I asked her again, and she hung up. Still: hot wax + on the phone + my face = bad idea!! Another time, Stella was giving my sister a manicure and she was on the phone with her the whole time. My sister thought this was rude and turned to me and mouthed "Can you believe this?" Once outside, I explained to her that it seems to be the norm at Tina's. Other times, I've went and they have been rather disorganized. Helping people not on a first come, first serve basis (and this was not due to prior appointments). While I've been satisfied with my manicures & pedicures at Tina's, the customer service I have encountered there turns me off. Thus, 2 stars from me. read more

Lisa recommended the 49 dollar special which includes a pedicure, manicure and hot stone massage which is regularly 65 dollars. She removed most of the thick layer of calluses on my heels and used the liquid callus remover. I added the reflexology massage as my feet were sore. She was kind and even let me use her phone since my son had borrowed mine. Lisa seemed to have several repeat customers including a handicapped lady who they took great care to remove from her scooter and into the pedicure chair. read more

I love this place !! Michelle does my nails and they last soooo long! I get gel manicure ... they are all nice and lovely and patient and responsive ! Pedicures are great too - I suggest a Massage while you are there! Waxing takes a while and not cheap but I'm comfortable and it's very clean! Best place in town! read more

I've been coming here for a couple of years and they always too a great job. I've gotten pedicures, regular manicures and gel manicures, and they do a good job and are very attentive. My daughter recently got an SNS powder manicure and it turned out great. During my last pedicure I had a 10-minute foot massage that was a wonderful, unexpected treat. They were slow that day so had time to do a little extra for the customers. I recommend! read more

I wish I read the reviews before coming here. There were a lot of things that could be better but the thing that bothered me the most about this place was how they treated their more younger customers. I think they think that younger people wouldn't be able to tip as well as a working adult and therefore they really rush the nail job and now my nails look like i did them in the dark. I've been going to Tina's for over a year now, and I am never disappointed! I rarely make an appointment because I always get attended to right when I walk in. Even on a Saturday morning, when nail salons tend to be busy, I never have had to wait for someone to attend to me more than 5 minutes. I also am always out the door in 25-30 minutes (mani + pedi). They are always fast and efficient. Pricing is regular for the Ridgewood NJ area, not cheap but not too expensive. I have been coming to Tina's Nails/Tea Tree Spa for well over 10 years and have never had a better manicure or -- especially -- pedicure, even though I've had my nails done at costlier places. Manicure-wise, I get gel polish (and have exclusively for the past 2.5 years). Since Tina's is not open on Sundays, there have been times when I've gone elsewhere after not being able to make it to the salon on a Saturday ... and the experience and staying power is never as good as it is at Tina's. Sarah is my regular manicurist, and she is very nice, professional, and great at her job; she's a perfectionist and always gives me a glossy, long-lasting manicure. Furthermore, Tina always makes sure to order new products and colors, so that's another bonus. If you come here for a pedicure, expect at least 35-45 minutes of pampering, including an invigorating salt scrub and a paraffin treatment. Flora and Rocio have been at Tina's for years (as have most of the other pedicurists), and they are thorough yet gentle. My feet never feel or look better than after a Tina's pedicure. The prices are in line with other walk-in salons in the area, yet I find the unhurried service and attention to detail far above any competition. read more

But I have been going here for years, brought my mom, mother in law, sister in law, friends. And just came home to redo my own pedicure. I wish I could give 0 stars ratings. I live in Paramus and thought I would try a new place for mani and pedi. I will not go back. I asked and paid for a mani and pedi looking forward to relaxing for an hour. I received the worst mani I have ever gotten never made it to the pedi. First mistake, Tina filed my nails but never cleaned the actual dust off them. Second mistake, she cut only the corners of cuticles not around the whole nail. Third mistake, She answered the phone 4 times while giving me mani, meanwhile the receptionist was sitting there reading a book. Forth mistake, she messed up two of my nails. Sighed when I asked her to fix them Her idea of fixing the nail was pressing her finger over the smudged paint and just painting on top of the nail. Fifth mistake, was she left nail polish all around my skin on every finger she painted and was annoyed I pointed it out to her to clean. When I got up at this point not interested in her finishing, I told her this is the soppiest mani I have ever received. I want my money back for the pedi as I am not staying. I went to Tina's to get a gel manicure less than a week ago. The Good: There was no wait; I didn't have a reservation and that wasn't a problem; there were tons of colors to choose from; and the space itself was clean. The not so good: my manicurist seemed disinterested. She barely spoke to me the entire time. And now, a couple of my nails have begun to chip. I would not go back. Used to go here quite a bit but will never go again. The staff is incredibly rude, condescending, and always seem annoyed at the smallest questions or comments. They rush through manicures and pedicures. They hacked away at my nails with a file even after I asked for them to be cut and left them jagged and uneven, then proceeded to remove my cuticle (after I told them not to) with an electric file which left a ridge in all of my nails that took months to grow out. They did a terrible job polishing leaving parts of my nail totally unpolished on the sides and near the cuticle. And god forbid you pick a color on the sheer side and ask for a 3rd coat they either refuse or act like it is the actual end of the world huffing and puffing the whole time. The technicians don't stop talking to each other which is rude and annoying to the customer. A mani/pedi is supposed to be a relaxing enjoyable experience yet I've never felt relaxed at Tina's. As a paying customer I expect to be treated with more respect and given better service. Every manicure I've ever received here I had to completely redo myself within a couple of days. I wish I could rate this place negative stars. Let me preface by saying that money is not an issue for us. We went to the salon and inquired about two mani pedi appointments. Tina told us the price is $30. Which is fine. That is an average price of a subpar experience. The one mani pedi was for a man and the other for myself. We waited for close to 20 minutes, which is fine... We were walk in appointments. At the end, when we were about to pay, she charged my boyfriend close to double the price of my mani pedi. When I inquired about the price difference the woman who did my nails was rude, inconsiderate, and patronized me for asking a simple question about the price difference. She ignored me for the majority of the questions that I was asking why I was very polite. She also said, "well then talk to my manager if you're upset," and then continue to ignore me. Tina, the owner was also incredibly rude and talk down to us as if we were nothing. Paying for their subpar services was one of the worst decisions I have ever made I will never spend another dime in that disgusting, dirty, horrible salon. I've never met more unintelligible people in my entire life if I can give them negative stars I would give the negative stars. Do not go here you are wasting your time and you are wasting your money salon filled with garbage people. You're better off having your three year old child do your nails. For manicures, this place is a joke. It wasn't even a true manicure...no soaking your hands, none of the massage-type stuff that one normally gets at a a manicure. It was basically just a polish change (which happens to be the same price as a mani, so there you go). One nail chipped the very next day, and the MAJORITY of my other nails started bubbling and chipping 2 days in. I believe this is a telltale sign that they add thinners to their polish. Here it is....day 3...and I look like I got it done over a week ago. It would have lasted longer if I had painted them myself, and I don't even use a topcoat when I do my own!!! This business was recommended to me by my hairdresser who works at Panicos. I have gotten gel nails done a few different places,. some last up to two weeks but this place... my gel nails lasted nearly a month! Great job! They even let me try a few different colors before I made my final decision. Staff is very friendly, I never got the sense they were "talking" about me like you sometimes do at other places. There is tons of space, it looks small from the outside but once inside there are many different rooms. It cost me 50-55 for a gel manicure and pedicure. I wasn't blown away by the pedicure but, I felt the pricing was fair for the area. I came here to get acrylics done. The woman obviously didn't have good experience with these kinds of nails. She argued with me over the kind of shape I wanted and ended up leaving the ends all uneven. The nails were all a different shape and way too thick. At the end they charged me 85 dollars and a 20% tip was automatically added because the total price was above 60 dollars. I will never come back to this place for acrylics. What a rip off. read more

I got my eye lash extensions done here by Esther and she did a great job. It was my first time and she made me feel very comfortable. The room where she did them was secluded, quiet and clean. It was the worst manicure I have ever received and I have been to many high and low end places. I invite the management to invite me back for free manicures to prove they can do a quality job and I would be happy to revise my review accordingly. If I need to pay extra for a better top coat/base coat, I will. I purchased a manicure for myself and my daughter at 4:30 in the evening. Everything was clean and staff was friendly and accommodating. It is a very nicely decorated space. I left feeling confident this would be my new weekly place. I had a very low key evening. When I woke up in the morning three of my nails had significantly chipped! One of my daughter's nail's had completely chipped off. By the end of the day, every one of her nails was almost completely bare, and the three that had begun chipping had peeled off completely and all but three were chipping. You will get the best pedicures here. The girls are wonderful. Rocio and Ade are just wonderful!! (hope I spelled the names correctly). The place is very nice and clean...THE ONLY COMPLAINT I HAVE IS: They took down the no cell phone use sign. Seems like a lot of people love to go to the salon and just talk on the phone loudly. Booked an appointment for 3 mani/pedis 3 days in advance for the same time - came to the appointment 5 mins early to find they only had 1 manicurist helping us one at a time. The manicure was awful; I've had much better for cheaper, and the manicurist didn't deserve the tip although we ended up giving her one. She didn't prepare our fingers properly, had to be reminded to file the nails, and there was no scrub applied - just a squirt of lotion at the end to call it a day! Maybe because they weren't staffed appropriately to handle 3 booked appointments, but it seemed like she just did the bare minimum to shape the nails to try to get us to the pedicure. The first 2 people she completed had to wait while the owner started the third person; they waited another 10 mins before getting called to go around to the pedicure stations. Again, we were unable to start the pedicures at the same time, and when the third person in our group was done with the manicure, she had to wait another 10 mins for the pedicure. The pedicurists weren't much better, except for Flora who did a decent job - we left the salon feeling very dissatisfied. Don't go to this salon - there are so many other places that are better!
