I made a same day appointment here for gel nails since Christmas is coming up. I was immediately seated after I Parked (there is designated parking by the way) then I showed Shirley, who was working on me, my inspiration picture and she got to work right away. They also gave a back massage that was super relaxing and they did the standard lotion, hot towel, and hand massage after the manicure. Overall it cost 49 for everything which is a little pricey, but I was out in less than an hour and I'm happy with the results. The only reason I took out one star was that they did snip a my cuticle too much on one finger which made me bleed. But it's nothing major. read more

A friend recommended this place. Had a nice experience getting a mani pedi on a Friday afternoon. I booked an appointment for 2 at 3pm but called to push it back 30 minutes with no problem. I arrived and we were taken in immediately, there are a lot of pedi chairs and seats for manicures. You can pick a color from the wall but they also will give you a book to choose from. The chairs give interesting massage choices. This was believe it or not my first pedicure. Water was nice and warm and I enjoyed the foot scrub and foot filing. For the manicure I was going to get SNS or powder but they convinced me to try gel instead. It was hard to understand at first why they wanted me to get gel instead due to a slight language barrier but didn't regret it - they turned out really nice and have not chipped yet (4 days later). They said powder is thicker and more money and less natural looking. I also got new nail extensions. I was shocked by how much the UV light burned my fingers - it was painful on my pinkies and thumbs, they tried to warn me but I did not understand what was about to happen. They found out I was getting my wedding nails and added a nice touch of sparkle to my ring fingers. They also gifted me a whole bottle of lotion as a wedding present! The ladies were so sweet. My nails alone costed $70. Not sure how much the toes were, but my friend and I both got basic pedicures, my $70 nails, and her gel nails without extensions for $160. read more

I had the best pedicure of my life at Horizon! I typically don't like getting pedicures- they take too long and I overall don't enjoy them. But it was my sister's engagement party and I needed to look human. Steven (I think that's his name- he's pretty young with long hair pulled back into a ponytail) has miracle hands! He took his time massaging my feet and it felt like heaven! Even the short shoulder massage at the end was great. I could've stayed there all day... I used to go to the Horizon in Ramsey before I moved, so I was super willing to try the new location in Wyckoff while visiting family for Thanksgiving. I made an appointment for the day before Thanksgiving and ended up being 10 minutes late. They were super busy, however they still took me right away. My technician, Mia, was super attentive and made my nails look amazing. Gel manicure was $32, which is a typical price in most salons, but they charged me $5 extra because I asked for a different color on each nail. The place was spotless and the staff was accommodating. The owner was very sweet and welcoming. I was in and out within 25 minutes and my nails look clean with none of those little air bubbles that I usually get from gels. OMG! I just experienced the best pedicure I've EVER had. We randomly looked this up on Yelp and it had pretty good reviews so gave it a shot. Im SO happy we did because I will never go anywhere else. The massage was out of this world!!! They use dissolvable bath gel beads which felt amazing. Ive never seen this used at a nail salon before and I love it! They also use the foam toe separators rather than rolled up paper towels, another thing Ive never seen. The staff is so nice and friendly. Tons of pedi chairs. I had high hopes for this salon from the great reviews. I'm so sick of these places charging top dollar for mediocre services. I called for an appointment and when i arrived they had no record of my appointment and the place was packed. It took TWO hours to do my dip nails. I wanted to keep my length so asked for a slight trim. I ended up with extremely short nails somehow. . Long story long my nails came out horribly! I can't understand why the nail tech pretends they don't see obvious mistakes and just tell you how "pretty " they look. Brought my daughter here for her first mani/pedi. She was so excited and the staff was so nice to both of us, making her feel special and even adding cute little flowers to her nails. They were gentle with her, and gave me a great leg massage w my pedi. My only slight annoyance was that my daughters polish peeled off really easily the same day, but she doesn't mind a random different colored touched up nail so we're good! Reasonably priced too. I was in the area and needed to get my nails done desperately. I looked at nail salons near me and this place popped up. Compared to other salons around the area, they had the best reviews and they definitely did not disappoint! I walked in and it was busy but they have a lot of people working so I was sat down right away. Suzie was the woman who did my manicure and she was super sweet and friendly! She was very meticulous about my manicure as well and took her time applying the polish. In the end, I was very satisfied. The place is clean and they offer free massages which is always a plus. I'm just so disappointed that I felt I had to review especially since I paid $54 for these services & didn't get what I asked for/wasn't satisfied and now I'm going to have to go somewhere else and pay more money to actually have them do what I had asked for. I usually only go here for pedicures once in a while and I don't get much but it seems that the quality has gone down recently, at least since my last visit. The pedicure was rough and I had to ask the man doing my feet if he could be more gentle with the tools he was using. I thought since I was there I could ask them to do something as simple as taking my current acrylic tips off and just doing a clear coat of hardener once they were off. The manicurist starts by cutting down the tips and drilling the color off my nails very fast, so fast she gives one of my fingers a small burn from the skin rubbing against the drill. Then she files and buffs them all repeatedly and aggressively until she thinks they are all flat enough for me not to notice that she hasn't even removed the tips! She has only drilled and filed! She then tells me the manicure is finished and that I can add hardener if I would like.... *Sigh* Unfortunately, I had to pay for the manicure and the removal even though she DID NOT remove anything off of my nails as I am currently sitting at home trying to do it myself! So I would either make an appointment with someone in mind, who you trust to do your nails or avoid going here entirely and save the $60 read more

My mom and I went to Horizon for the first time last week and had an awesome experience! We called to see if they could take us within 15 minutes and they told us to come right in. Once we arrived, we picked colors and were seated in pedicure chairs right away! (I hate being told that there is availability and then waiting a while, but Horizon had a ton of staff which led to us not waiting.) My mom went with the lemon pedicure and I did the peppermint one - both included great products and longer massages. I also wanted to have my fingernails done but was on a time crunch so May was able to do my nails while Brian did my toes - awesome! The receptionist (/manager) was super friendly and gave us a Frequent Member card that allows you to earn points with each visit. The interior is inviting and super clean. I come to this salon only for regular polish or gel polish with no design. Some of the nail techs can do nail art but I feel like they're limited in designs. A few times that I have gone asking for a certain design, it either comes out looking different or I'm not completely satisfied. So if you want a very detailed or marble design, I wouldn't recommend this salon. They're good with drawing palm trees, flowers, flames, most abstract, mainly simple designs. I also think their pedicures are pretty good, (would request Brian or Jason!) even though they're a bit more expensive than before. This place lies and tells customers that certain stuff members are great simply based on availability. If you were to call and ask who is great at doing what you specifically wanted, they will lie and tell you that whoever is available is a perfect match. After being recommended to Angie for my needs, I sat with her and she honestly told me she has never done what I wanted. Funny, I though she was an expert according to the girl who answers the call. This is the second time, in 2 months, that this place has done that to me. Amy is rude but good. After seeing Jay, my nails fell off within 14 days when normally my nails last 21+ days. The nice sister, that managed this place previously, is no longer there and I think she runs their new Midland Park location, although I am not sure. The sister that now runs the Wyckoff location has no clue about customer service and how to make customers feel appreciated. read more

Do NOT go to Susie! She is passive-aggressive, and believes she knows what is better for you than yourself. She puts her needs above yours, and also caused bleeding. It was my first time getting a manicure with my sister, and we were planning to have a fun sister's night. This plan was ruined by Susie. My sister unfortunately had Susie as her manicurist. When I suggested nail shapes and file/cut to my sister, Susie aggressively interrupted me by saying "I know what looks good, okay?!" When I complimented my sister and said that I liked her color better, Susie immediately responded in a frustrated manner that "both look the same!"... as if I was going to ask my manicurist to change colors (which I wasn't). Finally, she ripped my sister's cuticles and my sister was bleeding. I had asked her to go gently, but she wouldn't listen to me. Went here to get a manicure and with Christmas on the way, I decided it was best to make an appointment to make sure there was availability. I now know that appointments mean nothing when there are walk-ins. Even with an appointment I was told I would have to wait. Another woman in there told me she had an earlier appointment than me and was still waiting after 40 mins. With all the manicurists working furiously to get through everyone that walks through the door I'm sure the quality starts to diminish. Word of advice to the owner, don't take as many walk-ins if you're fully booked. read more

By far, hands down, the BEST nail salon I have been to. My friend and I went on our lunch hour. The staff was very friendly, attentive and did their part to make my friend and I feel at home and at ease. They introduced themselves, asked for our names and were just awesome. The pedicure massage was possibly the best massage I've ever had on my calves and feet and the polish is over 3 weeks old and still looks amazing. The beads of aloe or whatever it was in the basin was just superb. We both filled out their membership cards and her birthday was the following week and a few days later she received a free pedicure card in mail....quite impressive. We both left with a free hand cream and completely relaxed. I went back a few days later with a coworker for an eyebrow wax and again we were both greeted in the same fashion. This will be my one and only nail place and I have since threw out all other membership cards. read more

Saw this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try with two of my friends. My regular pedicure and Shellac manicure were fine. The people there are super nice and very thoughtful. They gave us a VIP card and a hand lotion as a first time visitor. They have a wide selection of colors and from what I saw, seemed to have sanitary practices. The only thing was that both the pedicure guy and manicure lady were a little rough when they were working on my cuticles. Nothing huge. We'll see how long this manicure lasts! read more

I'm disappointed, disappointed that I'm writing this review. My last 2 visits were a pedicure and a gel refill with gel polish. I have been going here for the past 8-12 months. I always make my appointments in advance and tip 20%. My pedicure was done by a gentleman who looked like he didn't know what he was doing and you should have seen it afterwards, sad. What's worse is the lady who has been doing my nails rushed through them last time and did not even fix the one that was lifting. So disappointed and so done. I have been here numerous times for a regular manicure and each time they spend less & less time doing my nails. Last visit was literally 7 minutes. So disappointing! Having a manicure I consider to be a relaxing treat after a long day at work , this last Technician barely filed my nails when I requested a smother edge, and she paid more attention to when her next client would be. BE WARNED. First of all I just noticed they don't open their nail kits out of a fresh sealed package. Here's what got me - I opened my purse to go tip the nail technician and she REACHED HER HAND IN MY PURSE and grabbed a 20$ bill out of my bag and proceeded to put it in her drawer. I said excuse me? She said she was going to break it for me. I didn't even ask her to break my 20$ bill let alone reach her hand in my bag? She handed me a 5$ bill back????? and took the 10$ bill and 5$ bill I tried arguing with her to get it back, but the 5$ wasn't even worth it at that point. I will never come back here.
