I have gotten manicures at Tinailery twice and was super happy both times! The girls who work here are really friendly and fun to talk to, and the salon is really cute. They're really skilled at nail design, so if you have an idea or a photo, you can just show it to them and they'll do exactly what you want! I also love that they have so many kinds of crystals and other decorative items to add a little extra pop to your nails if you want. I went to Tinailery 2 weeks ago and loved it! Everything is extremely clean, the girls are welcoming and sweet and Cammie did an unbelievable job. Learning about the Presto gel was great - the gel on my nails always chip before 2 weeks when I head back, but this time they didn't! The first time come to such girly place, but I still tried the pedicure because my wife requested. I really need to say their hot stone massage makes me feel very relaxing. Service and quality are underwhelmed and not worth the price. I went there because my friend was so excited to show me Japanese nail art style manicure. There is no manicure but just the machine glazed over my nail bed to prep for the gel. The girls are nice at first and speak very little English which is fine as long as I get the msg thru. I sat there for over 2.5 hrs without any breaks all because the girls was getting up and doing others things. No water or tea was offered on a cold, rainy day. I feel they weren't focus on my nails because I told the girls what colors and design I wanted and she still got it wrong. She realized the color was wrong too after she put it on but I was too tired to sit any longer to get it fix. I'm okay with it but design is not their strong point. Cons My gel nails are very, very thick even my husband noticed it and he never comment on any of these things! The color is very far from the cuticle so the very next day in natural sunlight, it looks like I got my nail done for a week already. Their painting skill could use more work. I have been looking for a nail shop that does Japanese nail art in Boston, and finally found Tinailery. I met Bella before the Tinailery shop opened and got my nail art back in late fall 2017. When they finally opened the shop around Christmas 2017, I came with my mom to get our nails done again. Co owners Bella and Cammie have an extensive background in Japanese nail art, and studied in Japan with an experienced teacher as well. If you want basic gel nail or complicated nail art, Tinailery is the place you want to come to. I ONLY trust Tinailery to do my nail art. I work nearby and needed a "tidy up and polish change" as they call it and charge $26 for. I walked in wearing sneakers as it's the middle of winter and the girl literally laughed in my face horrified I was wearing sneakers and asking for a polish change. She said I'd have to wait 30 minutes for my nails to dry and I said that's fine, I was getting the polish change to save time. The girl was so rude and wouldn't take me so I said okay if you don't want the business I'll happily go elsewhere. So I went to C&J in the north end and they took care of me like they always do for a more reasonable price. Don't waste your time or money here. read more

I started coming here over a year ago or so when they were new and I loved it. However the last two times have been awful. They have a new tech there named Mia and I had her both times. The first time I went she took over an hour to do just prep my nails because she was slow (not because I have crappy nails) and it hurt so much when she was doing my cuticles. I wanted an ombre sparkle on two nails. She said okay to it and failed miserably and had to get Phoebe (the owner) to do it. If she said she didn't know how I would've been fine with it. Within two weeks I noticed the top coat dented on the side of my nail (which never happened before). The second time I went a month later I had her again and I decided to give her another chance. She hurt me even more when doing cuticles where I flinched back and she didn't say sorry. The worst part was in less than a week it two nails chipped. Usually when Phoebe does it, it never chips and last up to 4weeks or more and I only go back in because my nails have grown too long. I had to go back in and fix it and she tried to charge me. I kept saying it chipped less than a week and then Phoebe said I didn't have to pay. I think quality went down and unless you have one of the original techs there, the outcome might not be the best. read more

Every time I got into the nail salon, I can choose from any nail design pictures I wanted to do, or I can pick from Japanese magazines. A bit pricy but highly recommended. read more

I went in for a manicure today (regular, not gel...with no nail polish currently on) and it took a full hour for them to do my nails. And since it's a light color I can still see the white tips of my nails through the color. Then at the end since I had to get back to work after AN HOUR for what they put on the website as a 30 min service, they sprayed the quick dry spray on it and two nails got messed up. So after all of that I'm just going to go home and have to redo them anyways. Waste of money. read more

I was lucky enough to be here for a lunch time gel when the health inspector showed up. It was interesting to see all the ladies scramble to hide their tools (probably unsanitized) in their purses. They are clearly violating health codes. The inspector even talked to them about it in front of us customers. I'll stay away as a result of what I saw. read more

I have been visiting this place for more than a year. I believe I am Tinailery's first customer, growing with it from only one workstation to its current achievement. I have the right to say how much effort they put, as I deeply know it. I never went to other nail salon 'Cause I know there's no place better than this. Bella studied a lot of nail arts knowledge and she truly understands my nails. She can even go to Japan using her personal investment just for getting better skills of nail art. For those haters who made negative review upon imagination, I suggest you to enjoy the service at least once and you probably will become a lover. Besides, Cammie is a very talented lashes expert. I did lases extension for more than one year and changed several different places. She's the only one who provides me best experience. I care quality more than price and everything. My eyes were in pain after lashes were done in other places while Cammie's masterpiece never hurts my eyes. The glue and lashes she uses are way different than in other places. This is the worst experience I have ever had at a nail salon. I had gone previously for a gel manicure, and I decided to go back because of its close proximity to my work. When I asked to get a polish change and gel take off, I was told that it would be $15 (really?!) for a gel takeoff if it was not their gel. I told them that the gel was in fact theirs, and another girl began interrogating me. She tried to look me up in the system, asked what nail technician I saw, asked what kind of gel I was wearing (probably to trick me since they only have certain types of gel), and asked me what day and time I came in. The questioning went on and on. I was mortified. She was basically calling me a liar, even though I had been there two weeks before. How is it my fault that someone didn't take my name before/put me in the system!? In an area with many nail salons, it probably isn't the best business choice to treat customers this way. I left after the interrogation, and went to a place down the street that did a great job and charged me 13 dollars for a gel take off and polish change! I will never be going back - HORRIBLE experience. read more

I went here for the first time this week and I loved this salon. My nails came out great and everyone was very nice. I had a chip in my gel polish after one day and they fixed it for me for free! After the manager of Tinailery reached out to me, I decided to give Tinailery another try and glad I did. The manager was apologetic and so were the nail techs, which is appreciated because often businesses will not extend an apology or offer an opportunity to keep a customer or amend an untoward experience. I had a pedi on the house and a mani (paid service) with nail tech Phoebe. It was amazing and was everything and more my first visit to Tinailery was. I was received well by everyone there and was not uncomfortable nor did I feel awkward even though the staff were aware that I was returning after being unhappy and had shared that experience on this platform. After a few bad nail salon experiences, I've found my place! I git the spa manicure and even though it was pricey, it was so worth it. I always leave salons wishing I got a little something more and most of the time I can't communicate as well as I'd like due to language barriers. I always end up getting cut or they file my nails so thin. She took her time filing each nail perfectly. My nail tech (I think her name was Arina possibly) was so careful and tested the electric file on her own hand before touching me with it. She scrubbed my hands with a salt scrub and put heated mitts on my hands with oil so it could really sink in. She had me pick out an essential oil to add to my massage oil. I picked pine and grapefruit which smelled amazing. The owner makes the oil which is a HUGE plus for me because there's no shady chemicals. She took her time and it was relaxing, not rushed and stressful like a lot of my salon experiences. They even suggested I opt out of polish and put more of the oil on my nails instead since I am trying to recover from a bad powder dip manicure and make my nails stronger.
