First, the food was quite good-the dumplings were tasty, not the absolute best ever but up there, I could be happy having them every day, and the price was fair. Unfortunately, they dont take credit cards which is inconvenient, and the ambience isnt that good. Very 'hole in the wall' type feel, the bathroom in particular was unpleasant. I dont want to give less than 3 stars but I didnt like this place as much as I hoped I would. read more

Tin Tin Chinese Restaurant - Fried pork dumplings - Chinese Near Me - Buffalo, New York

Tried this place because it is near my home. Fresh food made to order. I had the chicken cashew with egg rolls. Both awesome! Carry out only. read more

I've ordered from Tin Tin 3 times now. It's been phenomenal each time. Easily one of my new favorite Chinese restaurants to order from. Sweet and sour chicken, lo mein, egg roll is my go-to. I also have tried the chicken and broccoli and sesame chicken and both were great! read more

i got sweet and sour chicken, beef and broccoli. The chicken was not that bad but the rice was definitely old and the beef and broccoli was absolutely disgusting. that was the one thing I was really craving and I couldn't even finish a bite. That was the most fatty gammy meat I've ever had. It did not look that great, but I thought it was just a piece, but the whole thing was absolutely fatty. They tasted like there was not any sort of meat just fat. read more

The open kitchen gives an opportunity for us to see how the food is being handled, very clean kitchen. Best beef spare ribs and general tsao chicken and best fortune cookie tellings too (although I don't believe in them and believe in opportunity through pure hard work) very amazing customer service, the only downside is only cash payments. Also their wan tan soup my wife got a few times are also very amazing! read more

O M G the spicy chicken was amazing. Don't let the fire hydrant red color discourage you, it's not as hot as it looks!! But does have a kick for those who appreciate spice. Their prices are more reasonable than other spots in the area. Just a note-it's cash only. There is an ATM inside though. read more

Tin Tin Chinese Restaurant - a plate of rice and meat - Chinese Near Me - Buffalo, New York

We have been ordering from Tin Tin since 2018 and that will never change! Even after moving further than 3 mins down the road, we drive out to get it, or now utilize Door Dash. We have never once had any negative experiences, or incorrect orders. The staff is incredibly kind and the food is reasonably priced! Highly recommend read more

My go to place for chinese, the food is so good and there's never a crazy wait for takeout

Beef in my order was tough as nails. Steamed dumplings were more like pierogies filled with unseasoned meat. Crossed this place off. Won't go back. There are plenty of places with better food. read more

Food is fresh and is the best Chinese food in buffalo. I go there at least once per week.

The service was a bit slow, but they seemed busy. The food was great and we got a complimentary 2L of pop for our wait,

Good food, Major lack of Cleanliness In restaurant. Not what it once was. Portions are decent size and CASH only.

Good food, it is well prepared, and moderately priced. Freshly cooked to order! Ample parking and conveniently located.

We tried Tin Tin as a later dinner option last week. We have always seen a lot of people inside picking up orders, so thought they must be doing something right. Well, they did not disappoint. Everything was hot, fresh, and full of flavor. We really enjoyed it and will consider them regularly when ordering Chinese takeout! read more

valentines day got me and my family Chinese, me and my 2 little girls got violent ill, been sick for 3 days

Food used to be good. Lately it doesn't seem the same seems like there is no flavor and overcooked

Best Chinese in Buffalo!! I have passed by this place many times and never stopped. Last night, I was craving Chinese food. I have tried a few different places and found most the Chinese restaurants in Buffalo to be ok at best, lacking flavor. I looked on Yelp in hopes of finding somewhere new to try, but with expectations not too high since everywhere else wasn't that great. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised by this place! I called in my order ahead of time, and a had a few questions on the different combo platters and what was in them. The lady was very thorough in answering and explaining, not rushing. Inside, it's small but clean. I got the Hunan chicken combo which came with an eggroll and fried rice for only $8. The food was delicious, good spice and flavor, fresh, and plenty of veggies! Definitely recommend for quick, good Chinese! read more

Tin Tin Chinese Restaurant - Hunan Chicken, added broccoli. Delicious! - Chinese Near Me - Buffalo, New York

I ordered 2 quart size dishes! Chicken & Broccoli and Beef & Broccoli...The Chicken & Broccoli was very good! Firm veggies and tasty chicken! The Beef & Broccoli, the veggies were fresh but, I'm sorry that was not beef! I don't know what that was but that was not beef! I am a meat and potato guy and that was discusting! I ended up removing it and cooking and adding my own! Very poor! read more

The food is not bad. Sometimes a little too much breading. The sauce is good. But......do yourself a favor and order your food and go get it no matter how long they tell you it will take because they don't start your order until you get there. You order ahead, wait a half hour and then go there and wait a half hour for them To put your food Together. If this hadn't happened a few times now I wouldn't complain. read more

Ordered takeout with a 20 min pickup. I would say that they are probably more of a takeout spot upon entering the restaurant. Only a couple tables for dining. The staff were super friendly and attentive. The food: ordered dumplings...the sauce is what brings this dish together! Nice flavor combo. Also ordered sesame chicken combo..per usual...at first glance I wasnt sure if the rice would pack a flavor punch but I was pleasantly surprised how flavorful and tasty the rice was. Also I have to note that this is the first sesame chicken that I have had that actually was crisp! Note: parking lot is a little narrow esp with the snow mound accumulated from clearing the lot. Also we inquired about creating a combo with a meat not listed in the combo section and swapping out rice for lo mein....very specific but they said no problem!!!(but for an upcharge obv which was not a big deal just didn't want a family sized portion of each item) read more

Tin Tin Chinese Restaurant - Beef & broccoli, 53. Roast Pork Lo Mein, & H2. General Tso's Chicken, @ 1. Roast Pork Egg Roll - Chinese Near Me - Buffalo, New York

My normal Chinese place was closed so I tried this local place! Had been here many years ago and wasn't impressed but I had a craving for Chinese so I thought I'd try it again! Ordered beef fried rice, hot and sour soup, beef with broccoli (spicy) and fried dumplings! The soup was almost 'sweet' and was nothing like any other hot and sour soup I'd had before. The beef fried rice was bland. The dumplings were ok. My beef with broccoli was ok too, but not really spicy! The food was not really hot either, and I live really close by. It took 25-30 minutes from when I initially called, normally it about 10 minutes! Probably won't come back, nor can I recommend this place. read more

Great food, great service. I got my food fast. Not enough room. A lot of the seats are filled with boxes of stuff

Our Go-to Chinese place, cash only, but the prices are incredibly reasonable. Good portion sizes, that are always fresh and tasty

I always come here for their lunch special. Keep in mind that they are cash only. My favorite meal is the sesame chicken with white rice. I like their sesame chicken because their pieces are small pieces of chicken. I don't like when my sesame chicken is 75% fried batter and 25% chicken. The portion is smaller than the dinner portion, but it is still pretty big. I normally get 3-4 meals out of it because I'm not a big eater. They have a small parking lot that is pretty cramped especially when coming from the small street but I only get take out from here. read more

This joint is run by Snowy the Dog and Captain Haddock, as a tribute to their Belgian redheaded detective friend, Tin Tin himself. If it were run by 2 irresistible women, it would be called Ten Ten. If those women had been sunning themselves, it would be Tan Tan. If it served very heavy food it would be Ton Ton. If it served heavy French food in a mall it would be Bon Ton. If it gave people indigestion, it would be Tums Tums. Come and try the delicious Chinese food at Tin Tin, it's cheap and cheerful and not half bad at all. As it stands, I am very attached to this place, mainly because I was glued to it as a kid. The food was okay (not amazing, not bad at all), I had my fave dish, the shrimp curry, and was impressed. I was even more impressed by the customer service. They are open super late, and served me even after closing time, very lovely of them. And they were not upset about it at all, so it seemed. Plus it is right next door to Balkan Dining, one of the best restaurants this side of North East Sarajevo. read more

Just finished the greasiest hardest fried shrimp egg roll I have ever had in my life.It looked and taste like it was stale and refried.I love egg rolls,to the point where I can't get Chinese food with ordering one. They have ruined it for me,to the point if I could take back my tip I would. read more

This is the nearest Chinese restaurant to my new house, so I knew it wouldn't be long before we came calling. For convenience sake, I really wanted this place to be good, and after trying three different dishes I can say that it passed the test. We ordered the General Tso's Chicken and the Shrimp with Garlic Sauce combo platters as well as a pint size Beef Lo Mein. The Beef Lo Mein was probably my favorite despite modest expectations. In my experience, Chinese restaurants perpetually under-season beef, but that wasn't the case here. To be sure, none of the food was bad, but the General Tso's Chicken failed to really impress...just not garlicky enough. The few bites I had of the Shrimp with Garlic Sauce were flavorful enough. There's probably better Chinese around Buffalo, but Tin Tin is more than passable. 3.5 Stars. read more

Our go to take-out Chinese place in buffalo! This is not authentic chinese, it is Americanized chinese. They are always quick and consistent. We get the Chicken with garlic sauce - chicken is good and not overly fatty. Wonton soup is solid. Fried wontons and dumplings are good! read more

I'll start by saying, that contrary to what Randolph Z. posted, the sign certainly says Tin Tin. Whether those words exist in Chinese is another story. But really, who cares about the sign. The restaurant is one of your standard American-Chinese restaurants. If you're seeking authentic top of the line Chinese, this is NOT your place. That being said it's a small place with limited seating. Only about 2-3 tables, accommodating 4 or 5 adults are available. Most people seem to get takeout with the occasional delivery. There is a steady stream of customers in and out, indicating this is probably a "go-to" place for locals. On the counter you have a commonly laid out Chinese menu with the standard illuminated specials sign above. I was reluctant to review this place until I had a few visits under my belt. The quality of the food is consistent and the prices are great. Unfortunately it is cash only, with an ATM inside available. There is about 8 to 10 parking spaces available, alongside of the building on Starin Avenue. The restaurant itself is reasonably clean; which seems to be the common concern among Chinese restaurants. Each time I've been to Tin Tin the Cashier is always the same late-teen girl. She speaks English very well and is polite and kind. I'd recommend Tin Tin to anyone in the area looking for a decent Chinese (American) restaurant. The flavor is good and the price is right. It may not be the best you've had, but it will provide a quick and fulfilling meal. read more

When they first opened, they were the best Chinese around. Stopped going about 5 years ago, but decided to give 'em another try. Inexpensive but the food still is not the same as it use to be. Order was incorrect & food was kind of bland. read more

First time at Tin Tin. I'm one of those people that has a go-to Chinese joint that I never stray away from... well I ended up at Tin Tin, and I wasn't disappointed. Went in to pick up our order, nothing too different than other Chinese restaurants. Few tables, beverage cooler, bunch of employees cooking. But as I waiting for our takeout to be ready, I could not believe how many people walked in to order/pick up. This place was BUSY. Made me excited to try their food. Sweet and sour chicken, veggie fried rice, egg roll, crab rangoon. Everything we ordered was delicious. You won me over Tin Tin. PS, cash only but ATM inside. Also was told they do not deliver but their prices make up for it, trust me. read more

For Chinese take out in Buffalo, this is THE place. Their service is very nice, timely and responsive. I've been ordering here for a couple of years and they've never screwed up my order. It's always ready by the time they say it will be ready (I call ahead for the take out). Beware, they are CASH ONLY. Prices for entrees are reasonable in the $4-9 range. Portions are generous. A small portion is enough for two average people or get a large to share if very hungry. read more

Currently violently ill from their sesame chicken. Don't do it!! What a way to ring in the New Year!

Tin Tin is a very unassuming restaurant. Our family have lived throughout Buffalo for years and never heard of this place. We happened to be at another restaurant nearby when I saw the Tin Tin sign. I've made it a habit of trying certain Chinese dishes whenever I see a new one to determine how good that restaurant will be. My expectations were really low. To my surprise, I did a double take not expecting that I was now forced to consider it the best Chinese food in Buffalo. The only reason I didn't Tin Tin 5 stars is because they only accept cash. In the 21st century I think it's virtually a must for successful restaurants to take credit cards. Other then that, I recommend this to every hungry soul in Western New York. read more

It's really a pity that a city the size of Buffalo being in such close proximity to New York and Toronto has never developed a knowledge or taste for authentic Chinese and Asian cuisines beyond these cookie cutter eateries that dot the landscape and insist upon calling themselves "Chinese" restaurants. The General Tso's and sweet and sour anything doesn't even exist in the lexicon of any self- respecting Chinese cook or chef. Catering to the fickle American palate with loads of noodles, sweet sauces and rice dishes seems to be good enough for most folks as the reviews for this place (and 25 or more just like it) will testify. I could give some specifics on Tin Tin but not only wouldn't that serve a constructive purpose, my criticisms wouldn't sway opinion to any measurable degree, which isn't my objective anyway. My critiques are to alert other "foodies" of my experiences. I am not out to be hurtful or malicious in my comments, I do not seek to diminish their business; I'm just sharing observations from the perspective of a well traveled, semi-retired chef and a verbose dyed-in-the-wool "foodie." In my world, if you open an eating establishment, you have a moral and ethical obligation to put out the best damn food that your talents, abilities, disciplines and experience will provide you. In my opinion, these little operations aren't even trying anymore, they don't have to, it's the same 'ol, same 'ol day in and day out; uninspired machine made, mass produced frozen egg rolls are good enough. Every time their phone rings with another order of General Tso's chicken, chow mein or sweet and sour pork being made, they are reaffirmed that they are doing well enough; they are making a reasonable living and unfortunately, that's well enough. I guess it goes back to: "what you've never had, you'll never miss." read more

Tempted to give 4 stars because these guys are CASH ONLY and do not deliver. However- the food is by far the best Chinese I've had in Buffalo by a long shot. I mean, this place blows most others out of the water. The price, though exclusively cash, is VERY reasonable if not on the cheaper side (even for Chinese). The people are friendly, and the preparation speed is fast to standard. My recommendation is the hot and sour soup. Amazing and fully loaded. My go-to is the General Tso or Sesame chicken combo platter. Very crispy and sauce-y. Personally, I'm a fan of the hole-in-the-wall atmosphere, it makes it feel like you've found something special; sort of a well kept secret. If you want some Chinese, give it a try, you won't be disappointed! read more

This is one of the better Chinese take out places in the area. We ordered there on a Saturday night, food was ready within 20 min, price was reasonable and the portions lasted through Sunday Night. I was a little disappointed that the steamed dumplings were too doughy, but they tasted okay. The Hunan Chicken was not spicy enough, actually it was not spicy at all, compared to what other places serve. I'm sure they could change that upon request. The fried chicken wings smelled and tasted amazing, best ones yet. They forgot an egg roll, but that wasn't a huge deal. Should've checked before we left. Mistakes do happen. If memory serves me right, they do not accept credit/debit, but that may have been a temporary thing. Overall, satisfied. We enjoyed it and will be returning for our next Chinese takeout read more

I have been driving past this place for years and finally decided to stop by with minimal knowledge. Quite honestly I didn't feel like driving past my home to go to our usual Chinese spot. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming and the restaurant was clean. The parking lot was a bit tight with the snow, but not impossible. I was a bit taken aback by the cash only, luckily I had cash on me. They should probably put a sign on the door letting you know. Or at least notify you before you get over your order. Prices are reasonable and portion sizes are good. I was a bit disappointed in the overall seasoning of the food. I ordered the beef and broccoli dinner which included fried rice and an egg roll. The fried rice was a bit bland and under seasoned and the beef was also just okay. The egg roll was a bit greasy for my liking, but, I admittedly am sensitive to grease. Overall the food was okay. I won't be rushing back, but I am willing to give another try with something else in a pinch. I will stick to my go-to place for now. read more

My go to Chinese place! It is cash only, but they have an ATM inside. We always order the chicken with garlic sauce, crispy wontons, chicken lo mein, and steamed dumplings.
