Shrimp Mei fun & crab ragoons
Lauren S.

Pretty decent Chinese restaurant. I ordered take out and I love trying the same thing at different places so I can judge based off that. My standard meal is Crab Ragoons, an egg roll & Shrimp Mei Fun. The crab ragoons were made with the crispy 4 corners, which I personally like better than the standard twisty top. The inside had some extra herbal spices that I haven't had in any others I tried. They weren't bad, but I could do without the extra spices. The Shrimp Mei fun was awesome! Might be one of the best I've had simply because they add more soy sauce in it while cooking so I don't have to add it as I eat it. I also love that they kept the egg to the one side and there were lots of veggies. It was very good! The eggroll was average. I would definitely order from here again!

Ordered some take out here for the last cheat meal of 2020 and I have nothing but nice things to say about the food. I don't get anything too exciting - chicken teriyaki sticks, sweet and sour chicken, white rice - but I really enjoyed the food! It's definitely the best sweet and sour chicken I've had compared to other places. I think this may be our go to spot for any future Chinese take out!

This was my first time ordering from here. From reading the reviews, I didn't know what to expect. I ordered the General Tzo's Combination dinner, with Pork Fried Rice, a pork egg roll & then a won ton soup . The soup was good, but there were only 2 won tons in it. The rice was good, the egg roll was ok,but the extra Spicy General Tzo's was VERY GOOD !! No one ever makes it at the spiciness I want it, but finally, a place did, what I didn't think was ever to be possible ! They did it my way. It was a little pricier than most fast food Chinese restaurants, but the Chicken was worth it. I've definitely had better rice & egg rolls though. They share a pretty small parking lot with a few other Asian markets/stores, etc. It's also very tiny inside. Too claustrophobic for me to ever sit down to eat. Otherwise, not to bad !

Solid Chinese takeout with limited indoor seating. My family tried this out because it was close to my husband's route home and near the place I rehearse, and we decided to have dinner together in between swapping the kids. We didn't have to wait long after ordering to get our food. My husband was underwhelmed by his General Tso's because the meat had a strange texture to him but my crispy sesame chicken was good: crispy as promised with good quality chicken. One of my sons enjoyed his orange chicken. The other son had chicken nuggets, but they don't have ketchup despite this menu accommodation for picky eaters, so that's something to consider when dining in. I wish our local Chinese restaurant had chicken nuggets. It's tempura style like McDonald's. Of course our son is so finicky he prefers the inferior breaded nuggets at BK or Wendy's, even Tyson. What can you do? My eyes were bigger than my stomach so I ordered the 10 crab wanton special for under $6. It's a very generous portion meant for sharing, and not those smaller bite size crab wantons like buffets offer, but only I eat it. A good value, but a meal unto itself unless you share. Service is friendly. Prices are competitive. I wouldn't make a special trip but it does the job if you live or work in the area.

Our first time ordering from here wasn't perfect but since then we've had two great experiences with their food! The dumplings were the standout of the meal for me! The flavor and softness of the dough was shocking to me compared to other gyoza I've had recently. The Rangoons that I was craving this time were delicious which makes it a 5/5 for me! We will definitely keep ordering from here!

Shrimp Fried Rice with Fried Chicken Wings combo.

So I visited Ling Ling Chinese Restaurant and it was mediocre not what everyone in Kenmore states is the best Chinese food in Buffalo, NY. I placed an order of Shrimp Fried Rice with Fried Chicken Wings which is my to go to plate in any Chinese restaurant, I wasn't impressed. I mean it was not the worst food I've ever had but surely not the best one. The rice I think was over seasoned and the shrimp wasn't really fresh it had that old taste of as the shrimp had been out of the refrigerator for a long time. The chicken wings again were over seasoned in my opinion to the point it overwhelmed my palette and they were over cooked also. This is their claim of Fame: "Ling Ling Chinese Restaurant offers authentic Chinese cuisine and delicious tasting Szechuan, Hunan, & Cantonese dishes in Kenmore, NY. Ling Ling's convenient location and affordable prices make our restaurant a natural choice for dine-in or take-out meals in the Kenmore community. Our restaurant is known for its variety in taste and high quality fresh ingredients. Come and experience our friendly atmosphere and excellent service." Sorry but Ling Ling is not authentic Chinese cuisIne by any means, their pricing is affordable I will give them that. But then again their ingredients are definitely not "high quality or even fresh" as they claim. The atmosphere is not that of friendly or excellent, when I arrived they try to get you out as quickly as possible which I can appreciate but it is that of any fast food Chinese restaurant nothing special. I won't recommend this restaurant to be honest, again it's mediocre nothing special. I'm not stating they are the worst but not my choice to be exact.

Let me add...their chicken wings are to die for!!! So crispy...so greasy....so yummy!

Ordered takeout recently from here for my wife, brother, and myself. They're just down the street from where I live. When I got home I noticed we were missing the chicken lo mein. I called and they were very nice and apologetic. I went back and they had it ready for me and give us several free egg rolls and extra fortune cookies, which was nice and appreciated. The food was all really good. I especially enjoyed the crab Rangoons. But the main course was just what you would expect from good Chinese fast food.

I had my first experience with Ling Ling's earlier this month due to being such a close distance to my house. I ordered 5 shrimp egg rolls and an order of the crab Rangoon's (Yes all for ME)! The shrimp egg rolls were very flavorful. I do wish the shrimp coating wasn't so soggy. The crab Rangoon's seemed a bit under flavored with crab meat or at least the sweet taste mixed into the cream cheese. So instead it had more of a tart cream cheese flavor instead of sweet and savory. They were however fried to perfection. This place is obvs the hot spot bc I pulled up around 8:30pm and it was jumping! I also liked their social distancing window they have instead of coming inside and they provided hand sanitizer for afterwards. I will try some other items on the menu as what I ordered on this diet go around wasn't all that bad. Until we meet again Ling Ling!

Chicken Wings With shrimp fried rice

I'm originally from the Bronx so I'm pretty particular about my fried rice. Ling ling is lowkey the answer to my prayers when it comes to city style Chinese food in Buffalo. The rice had fresh shrimp with peas and onions. My wings were fried hard just like I like them. I couldn't be more thankful yo find this place. I've lived here three weeks and have ordered from them three times!

I was seated and immediately served complimentary tea, and fried wontons with sweet and sour sauce. I ordered the Kung Pao lunch special which comes with a choice of egg roll or soup, and white or vegetable friend rice. I chose the wonton soup and fried rice, and I ordered an egg roll as well. The egg roll came out quickly, and the lunch special was served right when I finished that. The food was good and the dish was spicy (Kung Pao is supposed to be spicy but it never is-- not for me) and the service was polite. When the check came it was accompanied by a plate with two slices of orange and a fortune cookie. The only thing I didn't like about the visit was that there was an advertisement for a big commercial law firm on the back of the fortune slip and the "lucky number" was the phone number. I thought that was tacky. I walked out at 1:15pm. Great, quick lunch.

Nice people, good food, pleasant atmosphere: because I can never decide which is more important,…read morethey are equally important factors when rating a restaurant. Golden Hill has all three. And a lunch menu. Wow! I just gave my receipt another look and the people are nicer than I thought. I thought they were pleasant, friendly, happy we were there, concerned that we would enjoy our visit. The lunch menu offerings were each $10.95 and included eggroll OR soup, and white or vegetable fried rice. Daughter ordered the Eggplant in Garlic Sauce with eggroll and white rice, plus an appetizer order of steamed dumplings. I ordered Eggplant with Pork in Garlic sauce with eggroll and white rice, plus a small bowl of Hot and Sour Soup. The soup on the appetizer menu was $3.95. My receipt shows the server put the soup as my lunch choice and charged $2.95 for the eggroll. She never said a word, didn't point out that I could save a dollar by switching the sides around. So the people are all I thought plus kind and conscientious. Marvelous. I was delighted with everything I ate. The entree was enough for two, so supper came home with me. The eggroll was fresh and crisp and non-greasy, seemed homemade. Excellent. The eggplant was perfectly prepared and cooked, as was the pork. Delicious. The hot and sour soup was easily one of the best I've had, and I'm always looking for a great hot and sour soup. Coming from downtown Buffalo, we'd been in Williamsville because I had an appointment on Essjay Rd. Afterward, we looked for a place to have lunch before shopping. Finding Golden Hill at 4001 Sheridan Dr. in Amherst was pure serendipity. You can bet, though, that I will visit again after next appointment.

The place looks like a home that was converted into a restaurant with parking in the back but once you enter, you feel like you are going into one of your Auntie's places for an actual home cooked meal. And they did not disappoint! Each dish was made to order and took a short time but you could tell it was prepared by a chef with a lot of experience and care--just looking at how the veggies were chopped/diced you can see they put their energy into each dish. The flavors were really superb and not at all overpowering and one major bonus--nothing was over salted or over oily as you might think typical Chinese food can get. Our party of 4 loved every bite and finished all our dishes, no leftovers. As you can see in the photos, they make an excellent meal. Prices are also very affordable and competitive with anything near the touristy areas. So if you want a solid, great meal prepared by a true mom & pop kitchen that feels like a home cooked meal, you really gotta try them out. I asked them how business was in summer vs winter and they said it's tough when it's winter (less tourists) but they make it work. It's also nice and quiet/intimate so you can have an actual conversation with your group rather than try to talk over some loud music at a chain restaurant! ----TL;DR---- Pros: excellent Chinese cuisine at very affordable prices and great portions. Not too salty or oily. And super nice, friendly owners who provide great service and great food. Cons: not easy to walk to from the main strip but if you have a car it's an easy drive. Skip the touristy places and come here! Bottom Line: it was the best meal we had in Niagara Falls and everyone was full and satisfied. I'd definitely go back again.

We got a bunch of stuff and everything was delicious. Literally the best beef lo mein I've had since I moved here six years ago. I've been just settling with it at other places so this was an exciting discovery! We also ordered sesame shrimp. It wasn't like other sesame dishes we've gotten. It was a pink sauce that was similar to sweet and sour, but it was very good and the shrimp were large and plump and cooked perfectly. We tried their fried dough just on a whim and it's like nothing I've had before... it's a nice little add on for $3.50. They have American Chinese and also authentic dishes, which is fun. Prices are in line with other Chinese food restaurants and portions are pretty generous. We'll definitely be back...like, hopefully very soon!
