Large seating area in the back that is insulated from the smoke and the smell. You fill up the big bowl with noodles and veggies and the small bowl with your protein. Tim's Too never disappoints, even the few times I have come since the pandemic started. For a while during covid the employees were dealing with the food throughout the creation of the make your own bowls, but now you may wear gloves and do it yourself until the cooking process like normal. They have been doing well as far as keeping things up to pandemic standards and it wasn't crowded when I came in. The employees are always super awesome and kind. They ask you if you are doing for here or to go and help guide you through what to do for the build your own bowl. I have never had a bad experience with food or employees here. Possibly two months ago my order was quite messed up. I contacted the manager (by phone) and sent him pics of the meal (Door Dash delivered). He said he would save my name for a future free meal. I let him know I don't purchase there often, so it wouldn't be very soon. Tonight I decided to call in for my free meal. Because I didn't recall his name or describe a man I only spoke to by phone, they wouldn't honor the promise. We set up our bowls at 7:35pm on a Tuesday and it took over 35 minutes to get the food to our table. It was not very busy and we were told that the cook is new so that's why it was taking so long. But my food was actually made quickly and then sat for over 30 minutes for our other bowl to be cooked so mine was barely warm by the time they brought both meals to the table. The server offered a free appetizer but to me that was just a ridiculous amount of time to wait after we set up the bowl ourselves. They have pivoted during covid to offering pre-designed bowls. I like but do not love the model- but hold nothing against them due to circumstances outside of their control. Food is good. The pork potstickers and vegetable spring roll appetizers are good too. You build your own noodle bowl and they fry it for you. Heads-up: It operates like Mongolian Barbeque, where you leave your table, get an empty bowl, fill it with a choice of noodles and vegetables and a meat option. Then you leave it (you have a marker with your name on it), and the person or people at the round, open grill inside the door grill it all together. So - if you're looking for that sit down and have a server bring you everything experience, this is different. I had a good time and loved the food! This place has so much potential, but I'm personally really disappointed with it. I've been twice to eat (and multiple times more trying to go but they've been closed, that's another story about how their hours don't match what is online). If I had reviewed this place after my first visit, I would've given them three stars. My food was cooked well, but I didn't put enough sauce on it. I partly put that on me because I was the one that didn't add enough sauce. There are some things I think they could improve in that area, but I'll list that below. However, the second time I went is honestly why I'm writing this review now and only giving them two stars. The serving area was disgusting! The veggies were all mixed up with each other. It was pretty clear that no one had gone through to tidy it up in a while. They also had a trash bowl on the side (next to the veggies) that was just really gross to come across as we were getting our food. The sauces area also had not been cleaned. Also, I saw the cook accidentally dropped the stick with our name that identified who it belongs too. Instead of getting another stick and rewriting the name, the cook ran it under water and put it back into the food. Also, our food was extremely undercooked. I normally skip on veggies that take longer cook time then others like onions and broccoli. But I put in scallions cause I figured that would cook pretty quick. Some of it was cooked, but then I got a few pieces that were completely raw. Also, my husband put zucchini in his and his was completely raw. The only thing that was completely cooked in his was the egg he added. There a lot more to say, but I'll just summarize it below. Things that were good: -They provide hand sanitizer and gloves to put on before handling the serving utensils. -The flat bread that comes with the meal is amazing. It's honestly probably the best part. - The meal also comes with your choice of white or brown rice. - The server we had was really nice and very attentive. - They do have a variety of gluten free and vegan/vegetarian options. Things that need improving: - It is hard to tell when they are closed. Their sign just says open from noon-closed. - The price is pretty steep. It's about $15 per bowl. - They really need to step up their game on keeping things clean. - It hard to put the right amount of sauce when you have to add it directly to your food. At other places like this, they provide a separate bowl for sauces. This place has a separate bowl, but it is only used for the meat section. read more

Enjoyed my stir fry at Tim's. It was kinda random that we ended up here on my way to a Kalamazoo. I called up a local friend and he happened to be around and free and suggested we go here. Very nice people and a small shop. It was good. They have tons of options, sauces, etc. You kinda have to k ow what you're doing with the sauces. Been here before and it hasn't been as bad as tonight. Sooooo disappointed. I ordered their crab rangoons and they were not cooked through, cold to almost frozen in the middle. One of the employees couldn't keep the face covering they had on for more than 5 seconds at a time and continuously was touching everything including their face. Saw another employee running from the back to the front wearing no mask at all and no gloves. They told us that they had a system set where they call tables up in the order they come in in order to build their bowl and we had one table ahead of us but that clearly wasn't communicated to the rest of the staff because multiple tables were call up at the same time. I also asked for sweetener (specifically Splenda or sweet N low) for my tea but was provided sugar. It was clear there was no management present as well. Employee did apologize and blamed it on being randomly flustered at times even though they didn't have clear roles for positions such as hostess, back of house, etc. Ended up walking out. read more

I try to stop going to this type of restaurants only because there is always a rush in putting food together for the cooks to make. What I mean by that is when I make my food, I want to take time to make it taste good. At these types of restaurants, you don't have time to fully put everything you want because there is a rush while ur in line. I also had an issue with the space between the serving line and customers sitting down. It seemed to crowed. my meal came out to 17 dollars. The reason why I wasn't please with that is because the workers don't tell you how the pricing worked. We found this place during a visit to St. Joe's. We were the only diners on a Tuesday evening in the non-tourist season. The service was great and the food was very good. It's very similar to Hu Hot, Genghis or other Mongolian-style dinners. Customers fill up their bowls with rice, veggies, sauce and meats. (Though at Tim's Too, a separate smaller bowl is for the choice of meats.) A grill master then prepares the individual servings on a large grill and the food is delivered to your table hot and tasty. As a gluten-free diner, I was especially pleased with the helpful waitress who advised me on what was GF and the sauces were specifically noted for all allergens. (The cook however mixed up who ordered the bread and put it on my plate instead of my dining partner's. Not a big deal for me, but for those with serious wheat allergies, that would have been a big mistake.) The price ($16) was fine for dinner but would have been a little steep for lunch. The food was delicious, and I would definitely return if in the area again. It's a great option for healthy dining in this tourist town. read more

First of all, what kind of name is "Tim's Too?" It just doesn't fit. When a name doesn't fit, it makes me hesitant to try the food. I walk in about 9PM. The place was a mess and looked very dirty and disheveled. Well I was starving, wanting veggies, and tired of searching, so I went against my better judgement and picked out a stir fry to go for my drive back home. It was pretty good. They were out of a lot of ingredients and sauces this late at night. I wish it had a bit more sauce on it because once I added the rice to it, it tasted dry. This is our daughters favorite place, hands down. It's a neat concept, you fill up your bowl with whatever noodles/carbs, veggies/fruits and sauces you'd like, pick a protein, and they will grill it all up on the flat grill right in front of you. It's fairly healthy, and our bowls were really good. The thing is that the flavor and the healthiness is up to you, the customer. On one hand, that's a great thing, but on the other hand, it's hard to give five stars when they really did not provide the flavor profile - you did. All that said, I do recommend it. We will go back, it is a fun, somewhat healthy lunch spot in a nice part of town. read more
