    Garlic bread

Still thinking about the garlic bread months later! We had a lot of fun trying different menu items and seeing the food made in front of us. Seating was a little crammed but overall a really fun experience

We live in Chicago and eat out a lot at highly regarded places. Houndstooth would be a top Chicago or NY restaurant. Every dish is delicious and creative. The bang-for-the-buck is perhaps the best I've ever been to. Run, don't walk, to Houndstooth! Cheyenne and the amazing staff will give you a night to remember. Headed back in two weeks and again and again!

A must try!!! Last Saturday night, the hubby and I decided to try this place out for dinner, kind of last minute. We didn't have reservations, and the place was packed. Graciously, some chairs were moved around to a little table in the only corner open, and we were able to dine. Everything about this little spot was perfect. From the warm welcome and effort by the hostess to the excellent service by Ligan and a tasty and inventive dinner. We had the short rib tartar, shrimp, bbq carrots, stuffed wings, and Poole. Everything had a unique twist, presented beautifully, and provided a wonderful carnival of flavors for the palate. Oh, and I mustn't forget the lavender drink. Delightful

The service, attention and detail were all very impressive. It's a shareable format. We got the --duck wings - amazing --short rib tartar - not bad but wouldn't get it again --black bean chicken - deceptively good --Slow steak - great and surprised by how good the almond cabbage side was --crispy potatoes - good --Paris Brest dessert - again not bad but would do something else. Like a donut sandwich of apples The explanations were the best I've ever had a waiter do. Really good beer and their version of espresso martini. The owner even came over to show us how they get the bonito fish strips that we were intrigued by because of how they move. Just an overall really good restaurant at an affordable price. Try it!

The best food in the area! Get the bread! And the service was so good! The best margarita I have ever had as well!

This restaurant is absolutely above a 5 star ratting. I've been a chef for 15 years and rarely am I impressed but wow, the food almost makes you feel emotional. I felt like I was traveling around the world through the flavors. The thought that went into each dish, it's incredible. The staff was all charming and fun to be around. There was plenty time to enjoy each plate in between each other. The flavors are on point. Our server Aaron was friendly and chill, he took the time to explain each dish and gave us his recommendations. The vibe of the restaurant is also dope, good music. I hope this place stays open for many many years to come. The cream puff was life changing. We took ours home to go. Thank you for giving my fam such an awesome experience. Cheers

It's a lovely place for a restaurant and we've been able to find comfortable seating for a large group. We visited on Black Friday and had a nice experience! Our server was attentive and fast, drinks were handled very well with everyone getting different coffees, teas, etc. and we were all ordered with the food out within 15 minutes. One dish was delayed but the rest came out on time. The food is pretty standard for an American brunch spot- it's 4/5 stars when it comes to seasoning/quality in my opinion, and comes at a higher price point- but I think you're paying for the view which makes sense! The windows over the water are beautiful and the decor is cozy and comfortable. So all in all, this is a great choice of a spot for a date night or family meal. The menu has all of your standard brunch options- a Benedict, pancakes, several omelettes, a classic breakfast, a hash, etc. I ordered the garden omelette and it left a little to be desired- potatoes weren't all the way cooked/ sat in a lot of oil, eggs were well cooked but the veggies were cut in large chunks/on the more raw side. This is what I meant about being 4/5 stars. Large portion sizes though, and something for everyone on the menu. The pizzas and sandwiches always look really good! And there's an extensive drink menu as well as a holiday drink menu. I imagine this place would be amazing in the summer when Benton Harbor comes alive but it's charming in the colder months as well. We will keep coming back when we're in town visiting family!

Spread the duck over crustini, with sweet jam and ground mustard and you have flavor packed bite. Balanced and very surprising how good it was/ There's parking on the street or off the side of the building. Never a problem. While not packed, there were plenty of other diners in the restaurant, yet they were barely audible. We happened upon The Buck at around 8:30 and bellied up to the bar. The website showed they closed at 10, so we thought we would have a couple of drinks and head back to the hotel. We had never been there so I made some small talk and I learned about the wheel of indecision. I was excited to try it (knowing my husband was with me boosted my confidence cause he'll drink anything... lol). They also have a huge variety of local beers! There were still quite a few people lingering, so we settled in to enjoy our drinks. I continued to try to make small talk with the bartender, but she seemed less than thrilled to have us there. The staff began cleaning up and closing down not long after we arrived and the bartender brought us our tab pretty quickly. We attempted to get an uber starting at 9:23 (they aren't kidding about Lake effect winds!), but apparently those are few and far between in St. Joseph. They closed up all around us, so we took the hint and walked back to the hotel around 9:45. The concept was great... (we loved the wheel). I will also say, we did take a Facebook call from our daughter about halfway thru (which I know can be annoying), but even before and after that, we could tell that they were not interested in having walkins an hour and a half before closing. I'm giving this a 3 because we also understand long shifts and being ready to be done for the night, so maybe we will try again next time we are in town and I can update my review!
