This was just ok for me. Beef and broccoli was fine. The chicken fried rice was ok, minus the dry chicken breast, maybe try pork or beef. The pork lo mein was off for me. I don't know what it was. I did not like it. I asked for hot mustard and got a whole pint of it, never had that happen before. That would be whatever except for the fact that it had a sour aftertaste to it, so it was not edible. This is why I always keep hot mustard powder at home. Egg roll was ok but I think it was just veggie and I prefer pork egg rolls. I can't say that I see a reason to go back but maybe people will like some other things here. read more

Its an amazing environment and even before eating the yummy food the whole building smelled delicious. The service was good seeing how I did take out during a snow storm and they were amazing. Very polite and Im already thinking about my next opportunity to eat here again. read more

The food was fantastic. Ordered for dinner on a Sunday. Food was ready in 25 minutes. Governor's chicken was amazing and we got a small side of the house fried rice to mix it with (highly recommend). Crab Rangoons were delicious and the egg rolls were pretty good, but not the absolute best we have had. Overall was my favorite chinese takeout in the area! Will most definitely be back. WORD OF CAUTION: When ordering egg rolls, make sure you be specific with the amount. Sometimes "an order of egg rolls" can sound a lot like "8 orders of egg rolls". I've been coming to Bridgman to get away for the last 11 years. All this time I've never stepped foot inside this place, and Yelp is to blame. Tonight I decided to conquer my fears and order some takeout. Yes they do takeout. No it's not listed in the restaurant profile. The reviews of the decor are accurate. Red lanterns hanging from the ceiling. Fish tank to the right when you walk in. But somehow it also looks like a golf clubhouse. Whatever, the point is, the food is above average. They make a good egg-roll, they make good fried rice. I also ordered the Mongolian beef, it's listed as spicy, it isn't, but it's better than plenty others I've had. This place has been around for awhile. The food used to be just ok now it's terrible. It was cold and tasteless. I asked if pink sauce for crab Rangoon was in the bag she told me yes. It was not. If you miss those days and the extraordinary food that always came with that décor, then search no further if you live or visit Berrien County, Michigan. Located in an old bank from the 1920's, the minute you walk into this spacious restaurant, you're magically transported back to the '50's. Service is fantastic: as long as I've lived here (15 years) the same people run the place, from front to back. Food is memorable and fantastic and need I add...PLENTIFUL! Every "small" order serves two starving people with plenty of leftovers; when I order just for myself, I can dine off of the small orders for 2-4 days! Having a brisk Take Out service, where there are times 8 people are waiting for their orders, this is also the place to just chill and enjoy a time and place that is rapidly disappearing from the American Experience as places feel pressured to "up grade" and become Hipster Hang-Outs. Fortunately for those of us that live here, the owners have felt NO NEED to do anything with their décor, instead, concentrating their talents on creating affordable and wonderfully flavored foods. Be sure to check out the Ben Franklin's store directly across the street from China Café if you want to continue your nostalgic trip, back in time. We ordered Mongolian beef and there was no beef. When we called to complain we were hung up on multiple times. WORST customer service. I hope they go out of business!
