Have eaten there twice -- once dine in and once take out. Both times our meals were good. Typical diner food. But the menu is really creative and doesn't just offer the diner basics. The service was good when we dined in and the food was warm still when we did take out. Really nice to have the takeout option. Only real downside is parking can be tricky. read more

The food was adequate diner food. Nothing to write home about. I got the Western scramble. The best part was the toast because the rest of the food was mediocre. The service sucked. We waited a good 10 minutes seated before anyone offered us coffee, and it turns out it wasn't even our waitress who did. When our actual waitress finally showed up, she asked if she could take our order without even saying sorry about the delay. Then I noticed she was busing all the other waitresses' tables. And when she brought us our food, she asked if we wanted a coffee refill, and we said yes. And I watched her walk over and bus another waitress's table again before she brought us our coffee! I don't know if she was just a lousy waitress or if she was a victim of bad management making her bus all the tables while she is trying to waitress too. I won't be back. Update: Wow, Arthur, you missed the point. I don't mind waiting 10 minutes. But others were being served ahead of us, and you were having my waitress bus all the other tables. read more

I was worried, being a true Southerner, about the service being rude based on a previous review. I had nothing to worry about! The servers were fantastic, friendly and efficient. Breakfast was delicious. The French toast with the crunchy coating was sinful. I can't even explain how good that was- absolutely not diabetic friendly, but worth every carbohydrate. My husband, a brave soul, ordered the biscuits and gravy 30 minutes from the Canadian border. I watched with concern as he took the first bite, but he declared them edible! Y'all Yanks may not get this, but that's high praise!! The coffee was delightful especially after days on the road and some strange substitutes for good quality coffee on our trek across Canada. Thanks were given. We enjoyed the quaint, Gilmore Girls vibe, the townspeople chatter and the beautiful little town. Thanks for sharing it with us. read more

I love coming here i have never had a problem but the waitress we had today was so miserable she might wanna think about a career change my food was good but my friends was not i went to pay the bill and forfot u had to pay up front so i handed her my card she got all pissy and said guess i will do it then my formed went to ger her money for a tip and she said ywah what do u want need less to say from someone who normally tips 20 percent or more she did not get a good tip i feel she didnt deserve on at all but i am not like that so we did. New to town, and this was my first pizza order. It was takeout, done on time and ordering and payment smooth and polite. I have strong feelings about pizza, having grown up in New Jersey. I don't expect NY/NJ style pizza everywhere, but I do know which elements can tank a pizza. The toppings on my pizza were pretty good, not excellent but above average. The sauce was decent, nothing to write home about but not a detriment. The crust, however, was disappointing. Crust is a big deal with pizza. And this crust shared several unpleasant similarities with canned pizza dough made by Pillsbury you'd buy at the grocery store. It was airy and pockmarked on the bottom, and had the barest of sweet tastes which I always associated with some sort of additive or preservative (not sure if I'm right about the cause, but there's something there that's not flour, water, yeast, salt, or oil). I would be very surprised if the dough was made in-house. I bake lots of types of bread and I just can't see how fresh dough could be made or treated to have this texture or taste. And, though I mentioned the ghost of sweetness, what I'd summarize the crust tasting like is: Nothing. A sort of greasy, airy, canned nothing. Sounds harsh, but I'm being honest. I'll order from here again, but I'll try some other places in hopes of finding something that strikes me more as being made entirely on-site. read more

Great food and the friendliest service ever! I had the eggs Benedict and...1) the English muffins was actually toasted 2) the eggs were poached perfectly and 3) the home fries were seasoned lightly with some rosemary and they were not greasy. My husband had three gigantic fluffy blueberry pancakes and I homemade sausage on the side. He devoured it all. All the staff were gracious and our waitress Kathy was excellent. Stopped in on a whim for breakfast. It was fantastic! So good I forgot to take pics. The corn beef hash is all home made and super delicious. The pancake with real Vermont maple syrup was the best I have ever had. I highly recommend trying this place for breakfast. Everything that came out of the kitchen looked delicious. Plus our service by Ang was fabulous. There is minimal parking and not a lot of tables so I assume there could be a wait for tables and parking from time to time. When we arrived at just before 9 a.m. on a Tuesday, there was only one server and a lot of customers. Within 10 minutes, almost every table was occupied and another server arrived. Went here last minute after a different place was sold out of a bunch of their food. Before that I bought a chai tea to walk around with. I wasn't done my chai tea and walked into Tims place and they sat us. The waitress came over and instead of greeting us, the first thing she does is tapped my chai tea and said, "oh no this can't be in here either chug it or put it under the table." I thought that was extremely rude and we wanted to leave after that but didn't because we were starving. I understand they probably don't want outside drinks coming in, but for our circumstance and how it was so last minute we were just shocked at how we were treated when we got here. Great food but the management has poor customer service. My husband and I get takeout from there twice a week on the weekends and the last three times our orders were incorrect. I let it go the first two times because hey mistakes happen but this last time I specifically repeated myself twice in order to be clear to the woman, taking my order answering the phone. She still got my order wrong and then when I called back and expressed how upset I was about the order being wrong once again, the woman hung up on me, then called back and asked to speak to the manager and the woman who hung up on me was the manager and basically told me that if I didn't like it, then I don't need to order from there, and then proceeded to hang up on me again I definitely won't be taking my family in there, and I will not be ordering from them again read more

Stuffed Potato Pizza... I'm sorry did I have to say more? They have the traditional pepperoni and cheese pizzas, or maybe the more politically incorrect Hawaiian pizza (pineapples do belong on pizza!)... but try some of their specialty pizzas they're an experience you have not had before, I promise, if you haven't been to Tim's before then you haven't experience their creative topping pizzas yet. Not into Pizza? I would recommend the wings or Caesar Salad, both awesome options and very tasty. Made perfect every time I've gone, and it's been a few times! Trust me. Environment is nice, it would be awesome to see wood floors in there, but the carpets are nice. The bathrooms are always clean and the tables quickly cleared for the next customers, so the wait isn't every very long. They also offer take-out, and it's quick too! Atmosphere is nice, they always welcome you with a smile and Arthur or his father Tim will often say hello and chat while you wait for your take-out. If you're looking for a small home town feel, look no further than Tim's Place. Five for Environment, five for a quality, five for friendliness, and five for atmosphere, well done Tim's 5 stars. read more

I believe in second chances. Sometimes years later. Was in a hurry with my son the other day, we needed to grab a quick breakfast and get on with some stuff. It has been almost 5 years since my last experience with Tim's. I reluctantly entered with my son. The waitress was quick with a Happy Greeting. She brought a menu to us and we ordered. Prices were reasonable. Food was hot perfectly cooked and delicious. My son said what a change from the last time we were here. He said yeah maybe you should change your review, maybe it is good to let some time pass and see how things have changed? I agreed that seemed like a great idea. Our experience this time was excellent. We plan to go back for lunch next. Hat tip to the waitresses who were fast, kind and had it going on. Made you feel at home. read more

I ordered the sausage gravy biscuit and the gravy was bland and thin like it had been watered down. It was room temperature and the potatoes I got were partially cooked. Haven't tried their breakfast but have never heard anything but good things about this place so finally decided to try their pizza. We ordered a large cheese, large pepperoni and a small white pizza and were able to have it delivered. They are one of the few pizza places that actually offers delivery in town upon request with a certain order amount. I have to say appearance wise i was skeptical as I am a fan of traditional NY style pizza, but it was delicious! Friendly staff and excellent food! I will definitely order again. read more

I went here after seeing the reviews however I was disappointed. My waitress was very nice and friendly but another server (possible manager) checked on every other person in the diner except me. Kinda made me feel unwelcomed, because I wasn't a usual customer. The food was the biggest disappointment though. My omelette was very small and barely had any filling, and the home fires were hard. I also tired the biscuits and gravy which tasted sour, and the "homemade" hash which kinda tasted like a burnt burger. I thought that for what I was paying the portion size should have been bigger, and again that my omelette should have had significantly more filling. Don't think I will be returning. read more

On a recommendation, we drove 40 minutes to have breakfast. I was looking forward to some French Toast until I saw that you had to pay an extra $1 for Vermont Maple Syrup. Seriously? St Albans has a maple fest every year, this is Vermont! No self respecting Vermonter pays extra in Vermont for what is one of the few things we do well. When I'm on the road and hit a Cracker Barrel, they offer VT maple syrup without an extra cost. That said, Tim's food and service was very good. Instead of the French Toast, I had the breakfast quesadilla which was tasty while my wife had the veggie skillet which she really enjoyed. Tim's is a solid option for breakfast but do the right thing, stop charging extra for Vermont Maple Syrup, that's just wrong! read more

Came in not too long ago for dinner and got a half dozen each of the spicy Angry Wings and the Tim's Place Dry Rub. The Angry Wings were great, but the dry rub wings were some of the best I've ever had, and it's not even close. Perfect mix of juicy and crispy, with just the right amount of spice. When I asked about the recipe, the cook came out and chatted with me for a while, which was quite nice. I went back a few weeks later and tried the pizza, which is also excellent - I'm used to St. Louis-style pizza, and this was easily on par if not better. This is one of those small diners close to me that I've passed coming home a million times before; I just happened to try it on a whim. Glad I did! read more

Pizza at Tim's! I ordered take out on a tip that they make "incredible pizza". This was the first time I even knew Tim's did pizza. I heard they made great breakfasts and lunches so they must be so busy doing three meals each day that I never imagined they managed pizza in the mix. Well they do! And they do it very well. If any of you locals (as old as I am) remember Zachary's Pizza, you will INSTANTLY recognize the quality of Tim's to be very similar to Zach's. They have that nice crispy outside crust, the cheese is incorporated throughout the pie and veggies (we did the House Special but switched the mushrooms for bacon!) caramelize nicely in however they bake them. I loved it! It smells the same too driving it back home. If you do remember Zach's and liked it, I highly recommend you try Tim's for a travel back in time for your senses of smell and taste. It will make you smile. I've also been told they do it a lot like Swanton House Of Pizza as well if any of you have tried them before. Service was quick and friendly. I was worried they either didn't do the mushroom swap correctly or forgot the side of ranch dressing but both were there ready for me. In fact, I showed up early to pick up the pie and it was right out of the oven when I got there! Can't beat that for timing. Prices are comparable to local high end pizzas. Given that, and the quality of the pizza this first time out, I'm doing Tim's for pizza every time! I'm excited to see what they have to offer on breakfast and lunches. read more

This diner was underwhelming at best. Earlier reviews spoke of greasy foods to which I would agree. Food was overcooked and the service was mediocre. The hash was laden with grease and wasn't prepared like it was even cooked. The eggs, scrambled, were served burnt. The pancakes were heavy and flavorless. The potato hash browns were chopped in tiny cubes and served with little flavor and were again, way too greasy. Overall, this is a place I will not be visiting again. read more
