Egg over hard, home fries, biscuit & sausage patties
    Philip J. H.

I came here after little sightseeing & such & opted for a brunch (you might say) & opted for an egg over hard, home fries, biscuit & sausage patties & definitely worth it (oh before I forget coffee as well). Music in place was unique with do-op, British Invasion, disco etc but it all worked out well in my book & service was on point & definitely I see why the people (whether locals/tourists) get referred here.

    Great menu.

Cute vintage diner feel. Keeps its charm from the original 1925 decor. All your favorite breakfast items, huge selection, everything really well prepared, and an array of milkshakes that make deciding on which one to have impossible. Food and entertainment all in one venue.

What a lovely diner! Unique building with a friendly waitstaff and delicious food. We stopped by for a quick breakfast. We loved the retro style and the food was fast and good! I even bought a foam dome souvenir hat

There was a waiting line for this small place, but at 10 am, it moved right along. Very friendly staff and fast refills on the coffee. I ordered the meat lover's skillet, and I joked it should be called a potato lover's skillet. Will try the regular meat on the side next time as those portions seemed very generous.

After a long travel trip (delayed flights were insane), we woke up with an appetite! This diner was a wonderful surprise - cozy and welcoming - you feel as if you walked into a family member's home. Our meals were scrumptious... included fresh brewed coffee! Shoutout to Kaitlyn, who took care of us! She is friendly, attentive, and polite!

Classic diner fare and atmosphere. Expect a long wait on the weekends (sometimes over an hour during peak times), and even a short ~5-10 min wait during weekdays. Got the 2 egg classic + bacon, and the Vermonter omelet. Kept us full during our 20 mile bike ride shortly after. Friendly service, tasty food, and great prices, especially for Burlington.

Stopped here on our drive home from Montreal and it was perfect. We immediately got seated and was warmly greeted by our waiter. I checked the Yelp reviews and my sister and I both decided to order the little Henry. Perfection. I got my eggs over medium, ham, home fries, a pancake, and an English muffin. The English muffin was one of the best I've ever had. Perfectly toasted, not too bready, and had butter melted on top. I'm still thinking about the ham too. Everything was too good!! I wish I lived closer.

What a great diner. Potatoes and Biscuits and Gravy were very good! Staff were generous and they put up with two older guys being philosophical at the counter (they derseve a medal for that part alone). The Counter seating is located in an old railroad car from New Jersey. An unexpected happy experience!

I got the mini Henry breakfast with two eggs, sausage, biscuit, home fries and with Vermont maple syrup.

The waitress we had was not nice at all and had a nasty attitude. We would ask her a question and she would give us a dirty look as to why we are asking her the questions we did. Inside is very cute looking, they have nice booths and it's very yellow looking. The food could have been a little bit better. The home fires barley had any flavor to it , the sausage patties were okay I wished I would had received the links but I think they only came as pork. The French toast and the biscuit was on point. It was very delicious other then that. The prices were more on the pricey side other then that it was overall a good breakfast spot and no long wait.

YES. AMAZING STOP! Really cool 100 yr old diner and the food was fantastic! It's a tiny space so we sat at the barstools and watched them cook our breakfast. We both ordered the Little Henry breakfast. The 2 customers seated next to us ordered the BLT & fries and the fried clams with Cole slaw. They both LOVED their food too. It's a very clean restaurant and the owner is running the front and hustling around as well. What a unique experience. So glad we stopped in!

Really cute interior and the food was delicious. The skillet was a bit underwhelming for the price but the service was good!

Great breakfast place. Coffee was good. I had eggs and pancakes. Excellent. The only thing they are very light on the homefries.

Ambience: It's a genuine 1950s Worcester Lunch Car--complete with Formica counters, vinyl booths, and tile floors that feel like they haven't changed since before your grandparents were born. Charming if you like that "museum exhibit" vibe--but cozy it isn't. Seating is tight, and the wait can feel longer than vintage itself. Food: Yes, it's scratch-made breakfast and lunch--maple syrup is local, English muffins made in-house, eggs fresh from Vermont farms. Great effort. But then you find out the famous hot turkey sandwich and VT burger that earned Roadfood praise under the old owner are no longer on the menu. The new proprietors swapped nostalgia for a rewritten menu--and higher prices. Some folks rave about the blueberry jam and standout flavors, but others griped that biscuits and gravy were "downright gross." Contrasting reviews and extra-charge condiment notes further muddle expectations. Service: Staff tend to move with diner efficiency--fast, polite, and no fuss. That said, reviews note some inconsistency: stellar one day, meh the next. They're friendly, but don't expect a guided gastronomic tour--just order, eat, move on. Value: With plates clocking in near $19 for diner fare like chicken-fried steak and breakfast burrito bowls, this isn't exactly your classic greasy spoon find. Everything tastes well-executed, but you're paying for that curated "local ingredients" label--not bargain basement. Bottom line: If you're nostalgic for a parlor that looks like a train car and serve-your-mother's-recipe breakfast served up with giddy pride, Parkway Diner might still charm. Just be ready to pay for ingredient provenance and ditch your hopes for old favorites like the hot turkey sandwich or VT burger. Solid for breakfast or lunch, but don't expect miracles--even if they serve bottomless coffee.

We got the breakfast pancakes to split, which we were very curious about. It was somehow an excellent pancake and also a unique experience. I also grabbed the spinach scramble and my wife got the potatoes verdes. The chorizo in her dish was surprisingly good, but the true unsung hero was the homemade biscuit. Definitely grab one of those! The homemade hot sauce is excellent and not too spicy but packed with flavor. It adds a ton to their egg dishes. We are going back tomorrow to check out the banana bread French toast, which our waitress said is not to be missed, but we simply didn't have any more room in our stomachs! Update after day 2: skip the corn beef hash, and the omelet we got was just so-so. The "scramble" style egg dishes are much better. The home fries didn't get enough love in yesterday's review. We were really looking…read moreforward to this visit since reading that chef Paul Trombly was nominated for a Beard award. The only downside of our visit was having to wait nearly 30 minutes past our reservation time. It is a very small dining space, and when folks won't vacate their tables, there's not much to be done. There are tables outside in a "streatery," but it wasn't al fresco weather. Fortunately, the food made up for the wait. The menu is laid out in a series of shareable, mostly vegetable small plates, concluding in two or three proteins (meat or fish dishes), and desserts. We started with Smashed cucumber salad, Green garlic borek, and Garlicky green beans. Everything was delicious. I then had the Duck breast shish, which was fabulous! They were out of the fish, but substituted Scallops, which M said were very good. B had Fried haloumi, which she really enjoyed. Served with a good red wine (in cute cafeteria tumblers!). For dessert, there was Olive oil cake and a vanilla Creemee sundae. They were both excellent. Our server Allie was special, very engaging and in control of the table. We were appreciative that chef Trombly dropped by the table for a nice chat. Definitely going back next time!
