Yesterday I had my yearly exam, I wanted to write my review but my eyes were dilated so I had to wait. Anyway, yesterday was my birthday & I had never been there on my birthday but a happy birthday banner was there, I could not believe it. My appointment was in the morning, & that meant I ran into their lunchtime, I was not rushed, I was not told to come back after lunch, I was well taken care of & treated with kindness. I can not say enough good things about the office staff. They treat me like I am their only customer. I have the most interaction with Sylvia J., awesome does not describe the way she treats me. Rosa D. & Angie C. are awesome also, we talk but since I wear contacts, my main focus is that, I do get glasses once every 3 or 4 years & their treatment is one in a million. Claudia V deserves more than an honorable mention, I'm learning more about her with each visit. I started going to D. Olinger when his daughter was 6, she is now 19. Time does fly. Upon retiring, he did not accept my insurance & that did not stop me from continuing service, I am a cash patient & that is a true testament to the professionalism & compassion of Dr. Olinger & his staff, keep up the good work Sylvia, Claudia, Rosa, Angie & of course Dr. Olinger read more

Timothy P Olinger, OD - This is the office of Dr. Olinger with a birthday banner for me - Optometrists Near Me - Lawndale, California

I had an EXCELLENT experience at Dr Olinger's office! Right from the beginning of checking in, to the pre-testing, exam and ending in Optical--top-notch treatment! I've had many eye exams over the years and nothing came close to what I experienced with Dr Olinger. He was so patient and thorough and did tests that I have not seen before that made me feel extremely confident in the prescription results. He explained everything to me so clearly and I could not ask for a better Optometrist! Angie and Rosa in the Optical department were so welcoming and helpful in my frame and lens choices and also felt confident with their expertise. They have a virtual reality headset that takes measurements for my progressive lenses and this is something else you don't experience at most Optometry offices! I cannot wait to get my glasses!!! EXCELLENT 5 STAR EXPERIENCE! read more

The doctor alone gets 5 stars! Dr Olinger was nice, attentive and professional. His front staff 5 stars they were very welcoming and friendly. I was not happy with the two ladies on the optical side the ones who place your order on the glasses. I took my son and wanted to take a look at their inventory for my future appointments and the lady with short blonde hair made a big deal then when she walked with me to look at the glasses she looked bothered and the other lady with the dark hair she helped us with my sons glasses after his exam and SHE CHOSE the glasses we got to look at, she didn't offer my son the chance to to look around. She wasn't even nice she gave us the minimum required customer service, she behaved like she was forced to help us. For this reason I will not be going there or taking my child back. read more

To add another layer of disappointment....they did not communicate the frame/lens return to my insurance. This means that my insurance is under the impression that I still have the glasses from last years visit. This now inhibits me from receiving frames that are covered by insurance for another year. I truly hope that this office learns from this mistake and corrects patient concerns. Such a disappointment, wish I would have never happened upon this optometrist office. read more

I wasn't sure where to get an optometrist anymore or how it worked. I found this location near my home and it was great. I called and the lady on the phone was super helpful and nice. Booked an appointment fast. The place was very quiet and cozy. The people there were super nice and friendly. The optometrist was very helpful and genuine. They took good care of my needs and had huge selection of glasses. This place has a great team very knowledgeable. read more

I came in to your office to ask that you check my glasses. The way your staff handled my issue was not appropriate. They should know what to do in cases like mine. Instead it took a Yelp review to get you to offer to help. Luckily the online retailer has better customer service. They have allowed me to return the glasses for a full refund. I will go see a new optometrist and get a new prescription. Thank you anyways. read more

VERY RUDE and condescending. The doctor actually went as far as the chastise me for my manner of speaking. It's no wonder the office was empty and it's in a dying strip mall. I went to another place a couple of blocks away (Jodi L Clark O.D.) that was cheerful, respectful and the office was busy. They helped me in an efficient manner with respect and courtesy. read more

Great service by all the girls and Dr Olinger! Everyone is very friendly and knowledgeable you won't regret coming here

I am back once again. My yearly eye exam was August 9. The staff is always great but let me point out 2 in particular, Sylvia & Rosa. The day of my exam, i ran into their lunch hour. I didn't realize it was lunchtime until i left & went to in n out burger. I looked @ my clock & couldn't believe the time. Even though it was their lunchtime Dr. Olinger & Sylvia did not rush me & that particular day, i did something very stupid. They assured me that it was no big deal. Now moving to today & Rosa, well I forgot my mask @ home but my glasses were ready. I called & asked Rosa would she bring them out to my car & she did not hesitate & brought them to me. When i say everyone is great, they are GREAT! Dr. Olinger & i are about the same age so i don't think i have to worry about him retiring on me but if he does, I will no longer get exams read more

If you are looking for a Good, no a Great Optometrist Office, I would highly recommend this Office! If I had to grade Dr. Olinger's office, I would give them 5 Stars ! From the time you enter the Office everyone is so nice, office is very clean, everyone wears a Face Mask and they have Hand Sanitizer at the Desk. What I love about the office is, they have a large selection of glasses that range from very low to high, they have the updated machines for eye testing and most of all, you don't have to wait for your test results, Dr. Olinger will go over everything before you leave the office! Thank You Dr. Olinger and your Office Team for being so Pleasant! read more

I had been having an irritated eye for about 3 weeks or more, initially thought it was just allergies but it wasn't getting better so I needed to see what was going on. Called Dr. Olinger's office on Monday and they were able to get me in on Tuesday morning. Dr. Olinger found that I had an eyelash that was backwards and was poking my eye. So glad that it was something simple that he could solve immediately. read more

My husband's nose pads on the eye glasses he needs to see with needed to be replaced. I got there when they opened, they had other patients who arrived and needed to be seen. Hearing my situation, they installed new nose pads immediately and brought them to my car. They would not take any money. We will remember this wonderful office for our eye needs and will spread the word. I wish them continued success. Thank you. read more

Love Dr. Olinger and his fantastic staff - knowledgeable, friendly and great patient service! Over the years, Dr. Olinger has helped our family with all of our eye-care health needs. From eye infections to retinal care, cataracts to macular degeneration -- I wouldn't entrust our eye health to anyone else. Their COVID protocols make me feel safe even during the pandemic. read more

I have been coming to Dr. Olinger since 95' and he has been nothing but great to me and my family. Him and his team has gone above and beyond to help us in anytime of need. I have a very rare eye condition and he has always been more than accommodating and knows all my records like the back of his hand. I have gone to him for glasses and any eye problems and even though I have Kaiser (and vsp for glasses) I still pay out of pocket for any eye health related problems that vsp doesn't cover. My family and I trust him and I will continue to take my infant daughter to his facility for anything as long as he's in service. read more

A 5-star rating is well deserved! My family and I have found our all-time favorite Optomotrist three years ago. Dr. Olinger really knows his stuff. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable, he is respectful, caring and keeps with current advancements. The staff is well training, attentive and friendly. I really like how they respond when there is a question presented that they don't know the answer. I have never received a rushed reply; they don't seem to "just guess" rather, they let you know and immediately seek out the answer(s). read more

Dr. Olinger is very knowledgeable and patient. Took his time to answer all my questions/concerns and explain everything in depth. His staff is so rude that I refuse to go back. They have a poor attitude and phone etiquette. It's unfortunate Dr. Olinger doesn't have staff that has better customer service skills. read more

Dr Olinger is AWESOME !!! Super approachable, very knowledgeable, and so kind. I have been coming here for years even before I had eye insurance and I wouldn't trade him for no other optometrist. Rosa the manager there is always smiling and laughing she is great! Angie and Nancy are awesome, you can tell they love their job they are always so helpful and Miss Lisa the optician is so wonderful always explaining everything in detail of what is covered and not and so helpful when it comes to choosing frames and contacts , if I could give them 10 stars I would they are awesome ! read more

Dr. Olinger is the best! He gets my prescription spot on, and he genuinely cares about my eye health. I recently tried a new doctor because my insurance changed, and compared to the new doctor Dr. Olinger seems to use more techniques to ensure that my eyes are in good condition. He's very knowledgeable. His staff are always polite and awesome. I used to hate going to the eye doctor, but I don't mind now:} I highly recommend him! 8/2014 I rescind my review. He had me wearing a prescription of -12 when it was supposed to be -15 so I couldn't see for a whole year. I go to college in New York so i didn't have time to go back and fix my prescription. Also, everything is over priced. And he says that regular contacts (not custom made) only go up to a certain amount but I went somewhere else and they got me non custom made ones (which are much cheaper, we're talking hundreds of dollars here). read more

Dr. Olinger and his staff are nothing short of amazing. I have been coming to this office for years & although I live an hour in a half away now - I still make it a point to always go back. I work in the healthcare industry & it's difficult to find good, knowledgable, & trustworthy physicians, but Dr. is definitely one of them. It's clear he keeps a great office environment as soon as you walk in. Everyone there is so pleasant & professional. From being greeted to the exam room, they are awesome. Hard to find doctor offices with staff who have been there for years & years. This last time I went, I had just gotten my eyelash extensions done. I told them I wanted to be careful because I didn't want the adhesive to be effected. And they made sure the Dr. knew. This office definitely knows how to take care of their patients. read more
