Malone was able to fix a major eye problem I developed after having laser surgery at a "high volume" practice.

Avoid this place at all costs. I came to Dr. Leila for CO2 laser treatment, and it turned out to be…read morea huge mistake. I should've known better -- there are so many bad reviews about her online, and now I understand why. I gave her the benefit of the doubt, but I completely regret it. She may seem friendly at first and promise amazing results, but once you express any concern, her entire attitude changes. I paid for full-face and under-eye resurfacing and made it very clear that my main concern was the under-eye bag area (infraorbital region). After the procedure, I noticed that area was completely missed. I even sent her photos with the exact area circled, and instead of taking accountability or offering a simple solution, she kept talking about the upper eyelid--which I was never even referring to. I clarified multiple times that I meant the under-eye hollowness, but she kept deflecting, twisting my words, and outright refusing to acknowledge the mistake. Her tone eventually became defensive and rude -- like she was saying, "I'm not doing anything about it -- end of story." She even went as far as mocking me for using AI to help me express my complaint clearly, rather than address the actual concern. I tried to handle this professionally and respectfully, but she made that impossible. So now I'll be taking further action where I can be heard -- because with her, all she does is play games, dodge responsibility, and gaslight the patient. This isn't just poor service -- it's unethical. Do yourself a favor and read the other negative reviews before booking anything. I wish I had.

I wanted fat injections under my eyes, WHICH WAS THE WHOLE REASON I WENT IN THE FIRST PLACE. I did not like the dark circles under my eyes and I knew fat injections would make them go away. That's all I wanted, but decided on upper and lower blepharoplasty as well and I know upper was done, but I do not think lower was done, as there are no incisions inside or outside my lower eyelid Lastly, I texted to her after hours, stating that I did not like the dark circles and I was not happy with the results; I was not panicky at all, simply stated that I did not like the dark circles and I was not happy and this was her response. Which was 100% unacceptable and inappropriate. Good evening, Miss Chandler You know I am not working right now unless this is an emergency please do not contact me with the panicky messages if you want to come for a consultation, which is a little bit too early right now we asked you to wait until you're fully recovered To see if a follow up do not contact me after 6 PM. The clinic is closed right now. I am very open to emergencies every request from postop patient. I accept with open arms, but sending me like such hysterical messages. After my workday is over it's not OK OK you're very swollen. You're very very swollen. OK and I recommend that you wait until you fully recovered. Compu follow up like normal people do I literally I did not have one patient doing what you're doing right now and I understand you're worried, but I'm not a psychiatrist or psychologist. You need to manage your own anxiety and if you want extra, follow up, call my front desk, assistant during business hours and schedule a follow up OK please do not text me after the clinic hours. Just to chat with me that I'm not gonna do that. OK I'm not so I'm not happy either. Nobody does that not one. Patient has done this telling me that I'm not happy with the procedure. You need to have patience and love yourself to heal and get rid of the swelling OK On Friday, September 26, 2025 I received a phone call message that my follow up appointment was being canceled because her office was indefinitely closed. I called back and asked why her office was closed, being that I am a patient I found that very important and I was told she was not able to tell me The reason why. So this is the way she not only speaks to a patient, but this is how little she cares about the the patient. I still have dark circles under my eyes. I do like the upper blepo. It looks great, but the dark circles remain. Update I did find out what happened. Please go to this website. It was a unanimous vote to suspend her license. https://townhall.virginia.gov/L/GetFile.cfm?File=meeting%5C26%5C42372%5CMinutes_DHP_42372_v1.pdf

I am writing this review with 2 days post op and with my new 20/15 vision! I had been looking to…read moreget LASIK for the past year and decided that this would the perfect time due to being able to work from home. A few things attracted me to EDOW: the convenient location (in Tyson's), the latest LASIK technology, the experienced doctors, transparent website with all the forms, risks, videos, etc. and it not being a massive chain. There was also a $1000 off promotion for PRK and Custom LASIK when I scheduled. I like that each LASIK procedure included a customized eye mapping to prevent some of the negative side effects (halos, glare, etc.) which I learned is not standard for all practices. The whole process was seamless from the initial free consultation that I was able to schedule for the following day to the post operative appointments. The initial consultation included a standard eye exam, cornea mapping, vision evaluation and eye health exam. Jon was extremely helpful in answering questions and explaining each step. My eyes were healthy and my corneas were thick enough so I was approved! I was able to schedule the pre-op, LASIK surgery and post-op immediately after the appointment. For the next two weeks, the tech instructed me to wear my glasses to allow my eyes to return to its natural shape. All the appointments are confirmed online which is very easy. The pre-op only took about 45 minutes. This is when my eyes were dilated, mapped, and the "true" prescription was assessed for the surgery. They also ordered my prescriptions through Friendly's Pharmacy for delivery to my home. The antibiotic and corticosteroid drops were delivered the following day. All very easy! The actual surgery day was about 2 weeks later at 2pm on a Thursday. I was in and out within 35 minutes! In the first room, Jon administered a bunch of drops (numbing, antibiotics, others) and also gave me a Valium. They also gave me glasses, eye shields, post care instructions and some lubricating drops for home. A few minutes later I walked to the LASIK suite where I laid down for the procedure. Dr. Kang explained each step and the expected feelings and sounds so I was completely at ease. I never felt any pain whatsoever. The first machine applied some pressure my eyes one at a time, my vision went temporarily blurry and then I was moved to the next machine to reshape the cornea. I focused on the green light and noticed the slight burning smell. But felt I absolutely no pain or discomfort at this point. The whole procedure lasted maybe 5-7 minutes. I then went a another room where Dr. Kang evaluated my eyes. I was then sent on my way! My vision was already was about the same as when I wore glasses just sensitive to light and a bit hazy. The first 2 hours were probably the most uncomfortable since my eyes felt heavy from the drops and I felt a bit dizzy. I napped with my face mask and new eye shield since my eyes just felt sensitive and tired. Two hours later I felt like a completely different person. I did wear sunglasses inside to avid glare and diligently began my eye drop regime. I was able to watch TV and that night without an issue. The following day was magical as I woke up with better vision than I had with contacts. I had very little dryness and none of the halos/glare/redness people talk about. That morning, I drove myself to for the post op where the optometrist said I had 20/15 and with almost no inflammation or discomfort. I even ran that afternoon. I would HIGHLY recommend this practice if considering LASIK. Everyone was extremely professional, knowledgeable and skilled. I attribute my speedy recovery and excellent results to them. Just remember those drops!!

However, when my question--about the likelihood of still needing contacts after the surgery--was passed on to Dr. Holzman by his staff, he completely lost his composure. His response was defensive and dismissive, completely misinterpreting my concerns as an attack on his abilities. Instead of addressing my anxiety, he focused on boasting about his reputation. This was by far the worst healthcare experience I've had, all thanks to Dr. Holzman's unprofessional tirade. Decided to give it a try because everyone has different experiences. Overall, I would say that my family had a great experience with our eye exams, very thorough and efficient. I would rate the doctor as 5 star. The front desk people are not great and maybe I just also had bad luck with them. Our first time as a family here and found that I had to make call multiple times to get a call back, they do not respond to text message (though they direct you to use text) and seemed unfamiliar with insurance/unwilling to figure it out. Therefore, it was fine overall - we got what we needed in the end, but will probably would not go back.

Dr. Kim-Eye Institute of Reston…read more I had an extremely frustrating experience with Dr. Kim at Eye Institute of Reston, VA, and would not recommend them to anyone looking for quality eye care. From the start, my eye exam felt rushed. When I struggled to see the letters clearly, the doctor switched to shapes instead of taking the time to ensure an accurate prescription. After the exam, she had me try on the prescribed contact lenses, but I couldn't see well with them. Instead of adjusting the prescription, she decided to keep it the same as what I walked in with. Another challenge was the eye machine used for the exam--it kept fogging up, and the doctor repeatedly wiped it off with a cloth. This happened during both of my visits. I asked about it the second time, and she told me to try breathing through my nose. I also inquired as to whether warm temperature in the office could be causing the fogging, and she responded, "I guess." The equipment looked more like a temporary plastic station rather than high-tech machinery, and I've never had this issue at other optometrist offices. When I picked up my glasses, I immediately noticed something was off, almost like a smudge. I voiced my concerns, but was advised to try them for a couple of weeks. After struggling with them, I returned for another exam, but the doctor still couldn't get my prescription right. At that point, she mentioned cataracts, which had never been brought up before, and referred me to a specialist. When I asked to return the glasses since I couldn't see properly, I was told they have a no-return policy, even though they failed to provide me with functional eyewear. I left messages requesting a resolution, but no one ever called me back. I spent a significant amount of money on glasses that I cannot use, and the lack of professionalism and care at this office is unacceptable. If you value your vision and customer service, I strongly recommend going elsewhere.
