3rd time using Derek for a big remodel. This time he helped make a handicapable bathroom for my mom who is in declining health. He made sure that every safety feature was utilized with all ADA requirements and still made it gorgeous. Every little detail to her bathroom and new master suite was perfect up to the lights outlets so she could see at night. He would even take the time to include her in the decisions even though it would take a very long time for her to understand. Especially with her dementia he made sure that she was comfortable and felt that this was all her decisions. We have used Derek and Timeless Finishes on three remodels: two bathrooms and our kitchen. All exceeded our expectations. One thing I liked about Derek is that he is somewhat of a perfectionist. He won't complete the job until he and we are satisfied with his quality standards. He takes personal pride in his team's work. His team is great on the details like tile/backsplash work, counters and cabinetry. From the start Derek was responsive and clear on what he was able to provide for our full kitchen renovation. His quote was fair and he did not change the price at any point in the renovation other than when we asked him to do something differently that would clearly change the cost. For example, after demo we decide that it would be a good time to replace our old aluminum wiring. Derek was able to add that in a timely manner and obviously we knew there would be a cost change. Derek was always clear with costs and kept track of where we were at in payments. Derek was also always on time and never seemed annoyed when we would ask questions about certain things before they were finished (I'm sure a homeowners and their kids sticking their head in and asking about various things can be irritating). We love how our kitchen turned out and Derek even did a few Pinterest style things for us that were new to him. But they turned out excellent. We contracted Derek to upgrade our new condo that came standard with very basic finishes. We did not want to buy upgrades through the home builder as options are limited and overpriced. Derek upgraded almost everything in our condo. He installed new cabinets, quartz countertops, flooring (tile and carpet), crown molding, baseboards, custom closet built-ins, custom entertainment center with fireplace and LED lighting, and finished it off with paint throughout. His attention to detail is extraordinary. I have very high expectations (and severe OCD), and Derek did not disappoint. Derek at Timeless Finishes far exceeded my expectations. Remodeling is a big commitment on all sides, so I had 5 companies provide quotes for bathrooms and the kitchen. Not only was Derek specific about pricing in the quote, but he also responded with a complete quote quickly (and it included all items, unlike some of the other quotes we received). The primary selling points for me were that it was clear he knows the scope of work (unlike some of the salespeople coming from other companies), and when he came initially to see what we were looking to do, he was great with my daughter and our dog. He had to replace everything down to the joists - I had leaks I didn't know about and a totally rotten floor. We had a kitchen remodeled and a bar area redone. This company is outstanding! Quality work done on time. Derek is the contractor who gives the bid and does the work with his other affiliates. Prices are so reasonable and when he found problems like 4 leaky water valves he would replace them for no extra charge until we insisted. So many little things come up when you demo a kitchen and he would just take care of it. We are so happy with the kitchen remodel. Originally we were going to reface the cabinets because the house will be rented. However, after receiving 3 refacing bids and then Derek's bid from Timeless Finishes, Derek's full cabinet and countertop replacement bid was the same as our lowest refacing bid. The cabinets are a great quality with slow close drawers. Derek even helped us decide on a couple changes we made in the kitchen design with cabinet placement. I am so so so happy that I took the chance because he was the best contractor ever. I've heard so many horror stories from my friends about their experiences with their contractors, but I didn't have a single hiccup at all. Derek worked with me on my tight budget and he's really knowledgable. He gave me all options and even offered me advice that would cut costs (what contractor is willing to offer you a cost-saving option)?
