Just be prepared to leave with a green mouth because apparently Halloween calories and green tongues don't count. There are monsters everywhere, Halloween decorations all around, and even a creepy clown staring at you while you eat your Halloween-inspired treats. I absolutely love how much fun they're having with the theme! And let me tell you... I REALLY want to go back and get that shirt! It is SO cute. I love that they're doing all of this. It makes the whole experience feel playful and nostalgic, and there are so many people working here that you can really feel how much this place means to the community. Bob's Big Boy /johnny's broilers is also a famous piece of Southern California history and has appeared in movies over the years. And let's not forget the history of the building itself. They tore it down once, and we the people of Downey basically threw a fit! The community fought to bring it back, and thankfully, we did. So yes, this isn't just a place to grab a burger or a shake. So we waited until she checked up on us. Which she didn't) She checked all the other tables around us, THREE TIMES, and she ignored us when we needed more water or missing items. I had to holler at her across the room to even get any more water or my friend's soda. I'm not sure why she was completely unprofessional. She doesn't have to like us, but she needed to do her job.
