I called Michael and he came, assessed the tree and decided it was possible to save it by securing the opening with rods. There isn't any other tree service I would trust to do the job. I have always been impressed by Michael's work. He came yesterday, did the climbing and inserted the rods. The tree is now as strong as it was before the damage occurred. They estimated a hand climber and we were really happy about that. When they showed up they made a judgement call without speaking to us and took down our fence, dug up a tree and drove up our lawn without asking so that they could use a crane. I get it. Lower cost and safer. That's not what was quoted. It's the same price to them but ends up more to us overall. We had to wait longer for their climber and in the end they didn't use him and did a lot of damage to our yard. The yard repairs cost almost as much as the tree sadly. Press for details on the how on the estimate. Ask questions and be specific on how they will do it and how you will communicate if issues arise. Be present the entire time they are working.
