NoodleZ on the mend after being sick
    K S.

My dog NoodleZ had to be hospitalised due to severe Gastroenteritis and Giardia, and I couldn't have asked for more. They cured her illness and did an amazing job. I'm so pleased at how much they helped her get back to her full health. Highly recommended and a big thank you to everyone at Timberline!

On the eve of Christmas Eve (known as Christmas Adam to some hah) our cat had a very dramatic incident of somehow imbedding her claws into her pads. Likely from being elderly and not having her claws trimmed the last vet visit. We called our usual vet and they sent us to Timberline. Our experience was far better than I ever expected at an emergency vet. Surprisingly she was moved quickly into triage. In triage the techs were able to get my cat's claws removed from her pads, trimmed her remaining claws and got her cleaned up. I didn't even hear a peep from her! Within minutes she was returned to me, comfortable, cleaned up and calm in her carrier. The male vet tech didn't make me feel judged in anyway even when I was judging myself for letting it happen. In fact when I went to pay my tab I was informed there was going to be no charge since it was just a triage visit. I cried in the car all the way home. The kindness and compassion really hit me in the heart. It's been a hard year for a lot of us. So especially in the spirit of the season, businesses like Timberline really are in it for the love of animals. In fact I can even vouch that the staff spoke kindly and compassionate about the patients even when we didn't know we were listening. Hopefully we won't have a need to come back soon, but I know if we have an urgent pet need this is where we will be going!

I can't say enough good things about this emergency vet clinic. From the moment I walked in, the staff treated me with professionalism, and genuine concern during an incredibly stressful time. The veterinarian clearly explained what was happening, went over all treatment options, and patiently answered my questions. They really went the extra mile to help- one of the workers helped me get back to my car because my hands were super full and gave me a pet carrier for the way home. $220 was the exam cost was a little on the higher end, but I'm so grateful for the exceptional service and HIGHLY recommend this clinic to anyone facing a pet emergency. Even though the clinic was super super busy my pet received expert care, and I felt confident I was in the best possible hands.

This picture of my 13-yr-old kitty, Malcolm, would not exist if the incredible doctors, vet technicians, and clinical staff at Timberline hadn't literally saved his life over the past several days. I am so thankful for the expertise, skill, tenacity, and almost overwhelming kindness we were shown by absolutely everyone at Timberline - in particular, Dr. Davidow and Dr. Waldrop were both very willing to walk me through exactly what was going on at any given stage of Malcolm's treatment (when they had a second to breathe between rounds), Josh was always very kind to accommodate my frequent check-ins/visits (I'm sorry if Malcolm got you at any point when he started feeling better, Josh!), and I will always be so, so grateful for Dawn and Tangie truly saving the day. The two of you in particular gave me more time with him than I would have had otherwise. I genuinely cannot recommend Timberline highly enough to anyone finding themselves and their pets in a health crisis/emergency situation.

It might seem strange to give five stars when my pet died here, but hear me out. (Warning - this review contains upsetting content.) I brought my old and sick cat in on a Saturday morning knowing what was wrong and what procedure she needed. I was either in denial or just very hopeful she would pull through. The staff was warm and listened well as I explained the situation, and they told us what we could expect. Things did not turn out as I had hoped. They grabbed the phone right away and I was back there just in time to say goodbye. I appreciate that although I had signed a DNR, they got me with her ASAP to communicate what was happening in real time and to make the final decision. It was honestly the worst moment of my life -- she had been my best friend for over 15 years -- and they knew just what to do. They wrapped her in a fuzzy pink blanket, carefully handed her to me, and led us to a room with a couch and a window with the sun peeking in and told us to take the time we needed. The doctor came in and explained what had happened, and it was all very understandable and unavoidable. In such moments you feel so incredibly lost. We were given more time to be alone with our girl and to grieve and told to push a button when we were ready to discuss next steps. They gave us easy options, and I chose to take her home, so they packed her up and told me how to care for her until we could get her in at Resting Waters. For such a horrific experience, they handled it with care, and I have full confidence they did everything they could with what they had. She was very sick. It was best that she was sedated and in the care of competent and gentle people when she went. A few days later, I received a hand-written card from them. It was so incredibly sweet. I have it up on her cat tree with candles and little flowers and her collar. That meant the world to me after a week of sobbing. Thank you, Timberline, for giving my sweet girl (and her family) such tender care. In memory of Shooben, 2009-2025

When I woke up one morning I was not expecting to rush my 8 year old cat, Lucy, to the emergency vet due to respiratory distress. It was very sudden and I was terrified. I have never been to an emergency vet before and didn't know what to expect, but when I entered the door, the team at Timberline demonstrated they had experience and expertise in their field. After several hours and expert opinion diagnostic work ups where you could tell the team was trying absolutely everything to discover an answer to the problem, I decided to take away Lucy's pain by putting her to sleep. The entire team at Timberline, our vet Dr. Waldrop, Rachel and Douglas at the front desk, and all of the vet techs in the back room made sure Lucy and I felt comfortable and had plenty of time together during her final hours as we waited for her cat dad to arrive from out of state. When he arrived, they gave him the same respect and treatment as me. The team helped to reassure us with our decision. We were allowed to pay for the visit and cremation services up front so once Lucy had passed we could walk out whenever we desired. Each part of the difficult process was seamless as they brought us into a back room with oxygen to keep Lucy comfortable and we could hold her and pet her during her final moments. It has been a truly heart breaking experience to lose my furry best friend, but the Timberline group made everything simple and easy so we didn't have to think too much throughout the process. They even sent me a sympathy card a few days later that has immensely helped me through the grieving process. Timberline provided exceptional care to me and my family. I am grateful for their expertise and advice during this traumatic and heart breaking experience. I can't imagine doing it with any other veterinary office. Thank you Timberline!

We took our cat in yesterday morning with some "digestive" issues. Everyone from Douglas when we first called and then at the front desk to Dr. Davidow - (wish we had the name of the first vet tech because she was fantastic as well)- were compassionate, clear on the diagnosis, and provided excellent advise for follow up. What could have been an awful situation at 6:30 in the morning on a Sunday was as pleasant as could be expected. Henry is healing well, and almost back to his usual self. We cannot recommend Timberline Emergency enough. Their care and customer service were exemplary. If you ever find yourself in need of an emergency vet, this is the place to go. THANK YOU again to the entire staff!

AVOID THIS CLINIC…read more The Incompetence was Astounding I arrived just one minute past their "10-minute grace period", which I was not made aware of. It was not verbally stated to me, it is no where on their website, nor is this "10-minute grace period" mentioned in the appointment confirmation text. They turned me away without any consideration for the urgency of the situation. I explained that my dog had been having diarrhea for a week and stopped eating. Despite being visibly distressed and practically in tears, all they could offer was a pack of OTC probiotics -- something I had already tried. As a dentist, I cannot comprehend turning away an emergency patient for being one minute past a "grace period". To make matters worse, they referred me to another clinic that closed in 15 minutes -- showing a complete lack of awareness or coordination. I was left scrambling. The staff's overall demeanor was incredibly frustrating. There was no sense of urgency or can do spirit. I was eventually seen by a third clinic, Urban Vet, who was responsive and genuinely committed to helping. They were doing all they could to help, which was the complete opposite feeling I got at Maple leaf. I would strongly recommend Urban instead to anyone looking for a vet that actually shows up for you and your pet in a time of need. God forbid your pet is sick and Maple leaf is their life line.... ---------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE: The Incompetence Continues My response to the hospital manager: I called the clinic (see photo), 2 days prior to the scheduled appointment to ask if I could be seen sooner to address urgent symptoms. You stated, she could be seen by your clinic at her upcoming appointment to address these symptoms. This phone call should have been documented in the chart notes. As you know, this is a liability to not have documentation. Your response has revealed further disorganization of the clinic and its auxiliary. So in conclusion, the clinic was clearly made aware of my dog's urgent needs prior to my appointment and when I arrived. And they did not care. To respond otherwise is lacking accountability and simply false. If you are looking for a vet that demonstrates genuine care and compassion through their actions ...keep looking.

I felt 100% confident in the skill and judgment of every doctor we saw, and he got a warm reception and compassion from everyone in the office. As his health started declining near the end, we were in here a lot, but no one pushed me to do anything excessive. They just helped me keep him comfortable and as healthy as possible under the circumstances. When it came time to say goodbye after almost 16 years with our sweet boy, Dr Shini came to our home and was exactly the presence we needed: a calm and caring guide. It was such a heartbreaking day, one I'll never forget, but I am so grateful to Dr Shini for helping us through it. After giving ourselves time to grieve, we are getting another puppy and will be bringing her to the excellent staff at Maple Leaf Veterinary Care Center.

On the phone…read moreI was told they could not schedule surgery without an exam first, and I booked the earliest appointment based on the impression that the clinic could perform the procedure after evaluation. At the visit, I was told Cascade does not have a veterinary ophthalmologist and that I would need to see an ophthalmology specialist for surgical repair. I was charged $111 for the exam, but the outcome was essentially a referral that could have been made clear before I came in. I'm also concerned about the guidance I received: I was told there was a "50/50 chance" surgery wouldn't work, yet board-level ophthalmology resources commonly cite higher success rates for gland replacement/repositioning (often called a "pocket" technique) and describe recurrence as a known possibility--not a coin flip. For example, Colorado State's veterinary ophthalmology service lists 85-90% success for cherry eye repair, and VCA notes ~5-20% risk of re-prolapse requiring additional surgery. My main concern: The hospital was NOT transparent on the phone about whether they can actually perform cherry eye surgery in-house (especially if it requires a specialist). If I had known the expected outcome is referral to ophthalmology, I would have avoided unnecessary exam fees and go directly to the right provider.

Some main points that I particularly want to point out and appreciate include: - They have a texting feature that I have utilized numerous times at moments I thought were looking really grim for my guy. I greatly prefer information in writing over spoken form for the sake of keeping record for future reference and this clinic helps me do just that. The insight and care they have been able to provide simply over text has been astonishing and more than I could say for other clinics that I have ever taken my pupper to. - I have never felt pushed into doing any procedures or purchasing medications from them - they are the fartherst thing from feeling "salesy". The doctors have always given me a comprehensive rationale as to what and why they are wanting to do a procedure and/or administer something, and I have never felt like I was being taken advantage of or made to feel incompetent. - From what I have observed, they seem to really love the vast array of animals that come into the clinic - including my old guy that needs quite a bit of assistance in simply being able to stay upright and walk; I get nervous because Duke requires so much assistance, but they are incredibly accommodating. Shoutouts I would love to mention from off the top of my head include Dr. Obegi (who of which makes a crazy commute over from Sequim to tend to her practice and her animal patients), Jenna, Georgee, Zoe, and Jen (and to anyone else that I am forgetting!): I appreciate you all so much. Thank you for assisting me in taking such incredible care of my precious guy and restoring my trust in vet clinics again.
