Athena and ApolloThey deserve the best care and Athena does not deserve the way she has been treated there.
    Clarissa H.

This is my first Yelp review I've ever written but I felt like it was important to do so. I have two beautiful miniature bully fur babies and I began taking my oldest female they're a little under a year ago. I recently had switched her from a vet that was wonderful in our same town The only reason why I had to do so was because she was pregnant and they didn't handle c-sections due to her breed and body structure she needed one. From the beginning there was nothing but issues. Most of the vet staff and several of the doctors were afraid of her. And let me just say she is the sweetest girl ever of course with her pregnancy she was a little more on guard but I would feel as veterinarians they would know how to approach and handle those situations. The previous vet had no issues with her she was always happy to go there Roosevelt animal hospital was where we previously went if anyone needs a referral for a good vet in shoreline area. As many of us dog parents know that any dog is going to be standoffish if they feel that the person approaching them is on edge and that is why she would react the way she would when most of the staff there would approach her. She would growl or put her tail between her legs her ears back because she felt uneasy. Because of that they told me that I would need to give her gabapentin every time I brought her in. As well as she always had to have a muzzle on. There was two doctors a woman and a male that approached her as I would think most staff should have and Athena was fine and loved them The male Doctor said she was the sweetest girl ever and did an amazing job so I know that it's not my dog it's the staff being under trained in dealing with different breeds and animals that may be more stressed. My girl has really bad allergies we recently performed an allergy test on her about a month ago she gets monthly shots for her allergies as she's allergic to everything we later found out once we got the results. When I brought her in to that appointment to get her allergy shot nails trimmed etc the vet tech that brought her back was already on edge she was shaking she was stuttering her word's and of course Athena didn't want to go with her due to her demeanor. About half an hour to 45 minutes later the lady brought her back and was acting in the same manner, could barely get words out said that she couldn't trim her nails she wasn't cooperating and next time I needed to make sure and give her the drugs so they could handle her. Mind you I don't believe I said this before I did tell the doctors that I would not drug my dog every time I brought her in because it was unnecessary and no other vet had an issue with her. We do have an animal hospital right up the street and I've brought her there several times as well they've never had to muzzle her and never had an issue so I'm not sure why Northgate veterinarian is not able to handle her. So the last straw for me was today she had her monthly allergy shot appointment at 8:00 a.m. and we were on our way to the appointment I recently had a major surgery December 12th and I'm not going to be able to really move around for about 10 weeks so I was moving a little bit slower and we were running a few minutes behind The vet tech called me and said Athena had a appointment at 8:00 a.m. and I informed her that we were on our way and I was just running a little bit behind due to my recent surgery she rudely told me that she didn't know if they would be able to see her today and she would need to check with the other technicians came back on the phone said need to reschedule aren't going to be able to see her I asked if there was any way we were almost there also said I didn't mind waiting, she really needs it as her skin is extremely broken out she had no compassion in trying to fit us in as well as the reasoning why we were running late. I understand if they're booked and busy and absolutely can't fit her in that's one thing but I felt and I believe I'm accurate they didn't want to try and fit her in because they didn't want to see her because they don't like handling her because they're untrained. So seeing as how we were almost there we still came My husband went in for me due to my surgery it's hard for me to walk in even though I would have liked to speak with them and tell them how I felt that is why I'm writing this review. He walked in and asked for all of the records printed out for both of our dogs as we would be going to another vet. So we will be returning to our original vet before Athena got pregnant Roosevelt animal hospital. And I really hope that this veterinarian will read this review and speak and train their staff properly regarding different breeds and personalities of those dogs and how to handle them. As well as training their technicians how to speak professionally and kindly too the animal parents.

Jen is so wonderful, I was so stressed getting my kittens on time in the morning and was so grumpy and wasn't a very pleasant customer. She was so nice and professional even tho I was in a bad mood. I own a business and I can honestly say that this place is really lucky to have someone like this working there. My little kitties are so comfortable there and I plan on going back always. I'm so grateful that my kitties are in such great hands and the bill wasn't at all as expensive as I thought it was going to be, for two kittens, it was so much less money than I thought it was actually in shock when I received the final bill. Thank you Jen and all the girls that were there on 04/23/24. They even took time to draw little hearts on the medicine bag.

I am new to Seattle and interviewed several Veterinary Clinics. I was so disappointed until I called Northgate Vet. From the front desk to the techs to the doctors, everyone was great! I had my dog daughter spayed and I was extremely nervous. I am very picky and ask a lot of questions. They made me feel very comfortable through the whole process. I chose to do the laser instead of the scalpel and the cold laser therapy after for quicker healing. She recovered quickly & is doing great! I would highly recommend this practice. Dr. Hazard was so patient and kind and confident. He really put me at ease & promised to take care of my baby and he did. Thank you to everyone who made this stressful process go smoothly.

Honestly, I am so impressed with the level of professionalism and friendliness at this veterinary clinic that it would be rude of me not to give them a great shout-out on Yelp! The process of making an appointment, the appointment itself, and even my experience after the appointment was effortless and great overall. They are quick to respond with their online appointment system and were specific about pricing when asked, which I really appreciated. I brought my little pup Chevi in for a routine wellness exam and health certificate for travel to CA, and was in and out within 30 minutes. From the get-go, they had a little "Welcome!" sign outside of the practice with Chevi's name on it, which I thought was soooo cute. Dr. Philips and Kendal were very sweet and helpful throughout my appointment, and I never felt pushed to buy any further services or products. The girls at the reception area were also very nice, attentive to any questions I had, and just seemed to be very calm and collected in an environment that I understand to be quite stressful. Finally, the customer service after the appointment was unreal. I was immediately emailed a copy of my pup's visit info, as well as received a phone call a few days later just to see how my pup was doing after his appointment. Honestly, I was just in for a routine appointment, but I feel thankful to have given this practice a chance as it's so near to my home, and feel happy to have found my pup's new vet in our new home in Seattle!

Benny's name on their welcome sign!

Great first impression! Dr. Park really seemed to care about my dog and was knowledgeable about his breed. Everyone there was sweet and perky and ready to answer any questions or concerns I may have had. Very professional staff. The exam was more thorough than he has recieved in the past. She checked his teeth, his knees, heart, and skin. She asked about what type of food I give him which is smart to ask. Also when time came for the neuter price quote they explained every charge and what the significance of each chage was. I think I've found his forever vet!

I brought my corgi in recently for a pretty nasty rash that seemed to pop up out of nowhere. He was miserable, and honestly, I was freaking out a bit--nothing worse than seeing your pup uncomfortable and not knowing how to help. From the moment we walked in, the staff were all kind, quick, and super understanding. A special shout-out to Dr. Erica Anderson. She was incredible. Not only did she explain everything thoroughly without up-selling (which I really appreciated), but she also took the time to make sure my little guy felt safe and calm during the whole visit. Dr. Anderson quickly diagnosed the issue, gave us a treatment plan that actually worked, and followed up to make sure everything was healing as expected. My corgi is back to his sassy, zoomie-loving self, and I couldn't be more grateful. Seattle has no shortage of vet clinics, but Jet City definitely stands out. Not just for the clean, modern space-- but for the genuine care they show. Highly recommend, especially if you're a fellow corgi parent.

Today I had to say goodbye to my dog. Her name was Daisy…read more Like everyone, I very much love my pets. But I think our story is a bit different. When I was 19 years old, my future wife and I started our pet family. We started with 3 cats (O'Reilly, Hairy, and Buddy) all within about a year or two. After college we decided one morning to get a dog. We went to some random house on the west side of Cleveland that was advertising a litter of puppies and we found Daisy. We were ill prepared for what we were about to go through. She proved to be a rambunctious, loud, and thoroughly trouble-making puppy. We'd regret her lack of formal training for years to come. Before leaving Cleveland for Seattle we took on one more cat, Cici. The car ride across the country would prove to be the first of three for our team of seven. Daisy, despite being a relentless trouble maker, was our girl. She loved the car rides, swimming in rivers and oceans, traveling with her family, and above all else...eating....everything. She had personality. She would love you, lie to you, yell at you, get mad at you, thank you, and protect you. She was not typical. As my team got older, I came to realize that I'd made a huge mistake by getting everyone all at once. It meant I would likely lose them all in a short period of time. I was unfortunately right. A few months ago, we experienced our first loss with O'Reilly. She was arguably the meanest cat on the planet but we loved her deeply regardless. Saying good-bye was beyond terrible as my instinct is to fight relentlessly to keep this team together at any cost. You just can't stop it sometimes and Barry & Jenya Katz have helped us come to terms with this reality of life. I am very grateful to them. They told me when we'd done as much as we could and they were right. When I woke up this morning, I knew Daisy was spent. My once energetic and rambunctious pup was now ready to sleep. Jenya came over to my apartment with her wonderful tech Jessica and helped me say good-bye. It was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do but they have become like family to me and shared my grief. They know my team by name and they care as I do that they each feel love and comfort to the last minute. I know this is a bit heavy for Yelp but pet owners who truly care will appreciate this story. These people have helped us keep this team together more times than I can count. The clinic staff and veterinarians have not let me down. They haven't let my team down. You should trust them with your team too.

I'm an established patient, they know me and my partner (and my cat!). Unfortunately, asking for an update on labwork yesterday culminated in an absolutely bizarre phone conversation with one of the receptionists that ended with "Look, we have lots of other patients. We can transfer your records to another vet if you're unhappy." And then hung up. That is, without a doubt, an insane thing to be ok saying to a client. I just wanted to know whether I needed to postpone my upcoming appt to wait for the labs! I no longer feel like there will be a good standard of care so I'm taking them up on the "find a new vet" threat. My 17 year-old cat gets to re-establish care elsewhere. This absolute catastrophe could've been avoided with the sentences: "Sorry about that, you should've heard back today but we are now expecting it early tomorrow. I wouldn't reschedule your appointment." Instead I got "I don't know what's happening with your pet. Do you want to reschedule the appointment or not?" Maybe things will work out for you here, for me they did for a while, but also maybe they'll rudely show you the door when you ask for an update on your pet. I won't risk that level of volatility in my pet's health care. I don't think you should either.

We kept an eye on them for a a few days hoping that after some water and a little time to rest, the bird would find it's way to the sky again, but unfortunately, this was not the case. After reaching out the Bird Clinic of Seattle, it was discovered that this specific type of bird couldn't be treated by them and they suggested reaching out to a local vet for euthanization. Easy, right? This is Seattle - there's TONS of veterinaries here... After calling no less than half a dozen vets within a 10 mile radius of our home who refused to help (including the vet we USED to take our cats to who continually fat shamed them), we called Atlantic who graciously said they could assist AND offered same day service. We put the bird in a shoebox and brought it over. I asked the front desk person what form of payment they preferred and the response was, "Nah. There's no need to pay us for this kind of service. Thank you for doing the right thing and bringing this poor bird in." Fast forward, my big guy cat woke me up a few months ago growling very early in the morning. It was obvious he was in a lot of pain, but our regular vet clinic didn't open until 9am vs. Atlantic who's phone lines open at 7am. I called them and immediately got an appointment for him to be seen later that afternoon. Frankly, the quality of care and genuine kindness that Dr. Monahan and her staff continually show us is incomparable to that of our last vet. I have bumped into vet techs at Atlantic whom I've never met, but express so much joy when my big guy cat shows up for follow ups. Everyone from the doctors to nurses to the front desk folks are always thorough and wonderful and we've never had an issue getting an appointment on the same day. We decided to move our cats here for primary care permanently. If you're looking for a vet that's happy to answer questions, not fat shame your pets, come up with health solutions and are generally an outstanding group of people who deeply care for animals and love what they do, this is the place.
