Dr. Castor is amazing. I brought my two young cats here. She was kind and gentle with them, and even though they are quite skittish they were okay to be handled by her. Aside from a general checkup, I had a couple of issues that I asked specifically. They were both suffering from respiratory issues which I demonstrated to her. She wasn't able to immediately pinpoint the issue, but prescribed me a few antibiotics and antiparasites that would be safe for them to take to see if it would resolve the problem -- it did, for both. The other issue was weight. She gave me a comprehensive breakdown of proper feeding habits for cats. I now have transferred my cats to a wet food diet with high quality protein based on her recommendations. It's still affordable but my cats are much healthier and more energetic now, without being overweight. Love this clinic and I will be back.

Dr. Castor has been caring for Ben for most of his life. He's half way to 22 years old now. She is kind and compassionate and gives me straight information about how to best care for him so that he enjoys a quality life. She has also more recently (at my request) shared her thoughts and "tips" on aging and how to know when he is in distress. Ben is a special needs cat and unlike others, she and her crew have never judged him or me and have always treated him like the special and unique kitty he is. I don't want to even imagine taking him anywhere else.

Violet on your way to city heaven

I received the best care ever from this Dr & clinic! They assisted in diagnosing my beautiful "Violet" with bladder cancer. The doctor then assisted with her passing. In the past I've put other cats to sleep but this was the most involved & caring doctor! She stayed with me on the floor until "Violet" was gone. The front desk guy is amazing also! He got me in with hardly any notice due to her critical situation. He treated the situation with compassion which I appreciated. I have linked to other vets where it seemed like they could care less. This vet is the cream of the crop! They even sent me a card after her passing which I thought was thoughtful. I highly recommend and will be taking my new kitty there to receive the same excellent treatment!

I'm so glad and grateful for switching to City Cat! And my cat is too! I've always had a hard time getting him to the vet bc he hates the car and he hates being crated. He would yeowl, pee, poop, and vomit, so switching to a home care vet seemed to be the obvious choice. The first visit went great. I felt that Dr. Castor was very helpful and thoughtful in answering my questions. She provided us treats, toys, and different samples of dental care products, as well as links to helpful videos and ideas to address my cat's issues with traveling and crating. I also emailed her on a Sunday night (after 6pm) about bloody stool, and she and her vet assistant responded within an hour! They provided some advice and suggested I could try a probiotic. And working in the healthcare industry myself, I very much appreciated that she provided a link to research. ^_^ I've been very happy with my cat's care here!

Dr. Castor is an amazing and caring vet and her staff has been wonderful and responsive to my often long list of questions. It is clear her years of experience and focus on feline medicine really shows when dealing with complex cases. My elderly cat was not doing well due to a stubborn case of IBD (possibly intestinal lymphoma) along with his underlying CKD. He had lost too much weight and was only 7lbs and I did not think he had much time. Fast forward almost 5 months later he is thriving and back up to 10lbs due to her guidance and trial and error with treatment and medication. She did not require me to put him through an excessive amount of testing and seeing specialists like other vets I inquired with before were advising. Had I not worked with Dr. Castor, my cat would most likely not have just made it to his 17th birthday this month. With that said, I highly recommend City Cat and Dr. Castor if you are looking for a vet with a high level expertise in feline medicine and a staff that are very caring and compassionate.

Castor got down on the floor--to the cats level--to do the exams; I think they appreciated that a little more.

I brought my corgi in recently for a pretty nasty rash that seemed to pop up out of nowhere. He was miserable, and honestly, I was freaking out a bit--nothing worse than seeing your pup uncomfortable and not knowing how to help. From the moment we walked in, the staff were all kind, quick, and super understanding. A special shout-out to Dr. Erica Anderson. She was incredible. Not only did she explain everything thoroughly without up-selling (which I really appreciated), but she also took the time to make sure my little guy felt safe and calm during the whole visit. Dr. Anderson quickly diagnosed the issue, gave us a treatment plan that actually worked, and followed up to make sure everything was healing as expected. My corgi is back to his sassy, zoomie-loving self, and I couldn't be more grateful. Seattle has no shortage of vet clinics, but Jet City definitely stands out. Not just for the clean, modern space-- but for the genuine care they show. Highly recommend, especially if you're a fellow corgi parent.

I'm an established patient, they know me and my partner (and my cat!). Unfortunately, asking for an update on labwork yesterday culminated in an absolutely bizarre phone conversation with one of the receptionists that ended with "Look, we have lots of other patients. We can transfer your records to another vet if you're unhappy." And then hung up. That is, without a doubt, an insane thing to be ok saying to a client. I just wanted to know whether I needed to postpone my upcoming appt to wait for the labs! I no longer feel like there will be a good standard of care so I'm taking them up on the "find a new vet" threat. My 17 year-old cat gets to re-establish care elsewhere. This absolute catastrophe could've been avoided with the sentences: "Sorry about that, you should've heard back today but we are now expecting it early tomorrow. I wouldn't reschedule your appointment." Instead I got "I don't know what's happening with your pet. Do you want to reschedule the appointment or not?" Maybe things will work out for you here, for me they did for a while, but also maybe they'll rudely show you the door when you ask for an update on your pet. I won't risk that level of volatility in my pet's health care. I don't think you should either.

Let me start by saying that our introduction to Atlantic Vet Hospital was a bit unusual. Last…read moresummer, a young bird managed to injure itself next to our home; we have a feeling the poor thing accidentally flew into the side of our house and ended up with a broken wing. We kept an eye on them for a a few days hoping that after some water and a little time to rest, the bird would find it's way to the sky again, but unfortunately, this was not the case. After reaching out the Bird Clinic of Seattle, it was discovered that this specific type of bird couldn't be treated by them and they suggested reaching out to a local vet for euthanization. Easy, right? This is Seattle - there's TONS of veterinaries here... After calling no less than half a dozen vets within a 10 mile radius of our home who refused to help (including the vet we USED to take our cats to who continually fat shamed them), we called Atlantic who graciously said they could assist AND offered same day service. We put the bird in a shoebox and brought it over. I asked the front desk person what form of payment they preferred and the response was, "Nah. There's no need to pay us for this kind of service. Thank you for doing the right thing and bringing this poor bird in." Fast forward, my big guy cat woke me up a few months ago growling very early in the morning. It was obvious he was in a lot of pain, but our regular vet clinic didn't open until 9am vs. Atlantic who's phone lines open at 7am. I called them and immediately got an appointment for him to be seen later that afternoon. Frankly, the quality of care and genuine kindness that Dr. Monahan and her staff continually show us is incomparable to that of our last vet. I have bumped into vet techs at Atlantic whom I've never met, but express so much joy when my big guy cat shows up for follow ups. Everyone from the doctors to nurses to the front desk folks are always thorough and wonderful and we've never had an issue getting an appointment on the same day. We decided to move our cats here for primary care permanently. If you're looking for a vet that's happy to answer questions, not fat shame your pets, come up with health solutions and are generally an outstanding group of people who deeply care for animals and love what they do, this is the place.

I arrived for my scheduled appointment only to be told by Elliott Lead that there was no record of it in their system. I showed a screenshot confirming my appointment and Elliott acknowledged that this same issue had already happened earlier that day which means they were aware of a problem with their scheduling system. Even with this admission and with my dog being sick they refused to see her. What made this experience even worse was the complete lack of care and accountability. When I shared my concern about being turned away with a sick pet Elliott responded in a dismissive and condescending way suggesting I must not have received a confirmation email or text even though I had proof of the booking in front of them. There was no ownership of their mistake and no compassion for my dogs wellbeing. Elliott did not offer to help find another appointment at any Urban Animal clinic did not offer to see if there was a cancellation and did not provide any support or guidance on where to seek care. I had to search for an emergency clinic on my own and spent three hours trying to get my dog the care she needed because Urban Animal refused to assist after their own scheduling error. This level of neglect lack of responsibility and absence of empathy is unacceptable for any veterinary practice especially one trusted with the health of our pets. Tymber deserved better and so does any animal brought to Urban Animal. Because of this experience and the unprofessional conduct I will not be returning and I cannot recommend Urban Animal to anyone looking for reliable or compassionate veterinary care.
