The doctor did an ultrasound which showed many tumors on her liver and one burst. It was an inoperable situation and she was dying. They allowed us to take her home to pass in our presence. When she did pass, we took her back for cremation. This was so sudden and unexpected, but the staff and doctor were beyond amazing with their compassion, concern, care and respect. I just cannot say enough about how special these folks are. We weren't in the lobby area that long, but enough to see that it is VERY nice and clean with coffee and snacks available and well spaced out couches and chairs.

We had a very disappointing experience with the Oncology department at Timberline…read more Our Golden Retriever, Vanille, recently completed radiation therapy for a peripheral nerve sheath tumor and today was scheduled for a follow-up appointment. Although Timberline is more than 30 minutes from our home, we chose to continue her oncology care there because we trusted Dr. Lyons. There are several oncology specialists much closer to us, but we believed the extra drive was worth it for the continuity of care. While we were on our way, the clinic called to let us know that we were already 10 minutes late. I explained that we were only 2-3 minutes away. I also explained that when I scheduled the appointment by phone, I had been told the appointment time was 2:45 PM, which was the time I had planned around. I was then told that because another consultation was scheduled after ours, Vanille could not be seen and we would need to reschedule. After checking my confirmation email later, I noticed it listed the appointment as 2:30 PM. I don't know how that discrepancy occurred, but that was not the appointment time I was given over the phone when I scheduled the visit. What disappointed me most was not the scheduling issue itself--it was the complete lack of flexibility and compassion for a cancer patient. I fully understand that clinics have schedules to maintain and that policies exist for a reason. However, Vanille had only recently completed radiation therapy and was still recovering from a serious hospitalization related to her treatment. Every trip is physically demanding for her. I wasn't asking anyone else's appointment to be delayed or expecting a full consultation if the schedule didn't allow it. Even if it was only possible to spend 10-15 minutes with the doctor, that would have been far more meaningful than simply turning us away after we had driven over 30 minutes and were only a couple of minutes from arriving. Instead, after a brief hold, we were simply told "sorry" and that we would have to reschedule. We were offered an appointment the next day, but that wasn't a practical solution. Rearranging work and making another long round trip with a recovering cancer patient is not something that can easily be done. Medical expertise is obviously important, but compassion, communication, and reasonable flexibility are equally important in specialty oncology. Unfortunately, today's experience significantly changed our confidence in continuing Vanille's care at Timberline, and we have decided to transfer her oncology care elsewhere. I hope this feedback encourages the clinic to consider handling situations like this with more compassion in the future, especially for patients undergoing cancer treatment. I also want to be clear that this review is not a reflection of Dr. Lyons' medical expertise. Our decision was based entirely on how today's situation was handled by the clinic.

Before any services were rendered, a tech would show prices on a screen so there was transparency. Similar to many things on the west coast, it can be pricey but really not any different from other local downtown vets. There is also the option to find certain products on Amazon, Chewy, etc and sometimes even recommended by staff to save clients some money. All staff is very friendly and truly seem to love their job and the animals they care for. Around holidays, pets usually get a cute bandana tied on them to match the theme. This location does dispense some meds. Others meds will need a prescription to take to a local pharmacy. The caveat is that the vet will only do a physical hardcopy of a prescription, which is kind of a downfall if you're trying to get something fast. I eventually had to make the decision for my Beau to cross the rainbow bridge. It was a very hard time for us, but the staff was so unbelievably caring. The doctor on staff that day even got on the floor and cried with me and was really supporting; this really stuck out to me. A few weeks later, we even got a signed card from everyone on staff, which was really heartwarming. Overall, a really great place to take your pet. There's free on-site parking, which is even better when you're trying to load and unload a pet. They're a super friendly and caring staff. Check it out!

Vet care is very expensive across the board, but this was a sign to me that Ravenna was pricier than others.

The front desk responded to my emails in a way that made things even more unclear, and the vet never followed up directly or recommended a follow-up appointment for my dog's UTI. I called Cascade Pet Hospital specifically to schedule cherry eye surgery for my dog. On the phone…read moreI was told they could not schedule surgery without an exam first, and I booked the earliest appointment based on the impression that the clinic could perform the procedure after evaluation. At the visit, I was told Cascade does not have a veterinary ophthalmologist and that I would need to see an ophthalmology specialist for surgical repair. I was charged $111 for the exam, but the outcome was essentially a referral that could have been made clear before I came in. I'm also concerned about the guidance I received: I was told there was a "50/50 chance" surgery wouldn't work, yet board-level ophthalmology resources commonly cite higher success rates for gland replacement/repositioning (often called a "pocket" technique) and describe recurrence as a known possibility--not a coin flip. For example, Colorado State's veterinary ophthalmology service lists 85-90% success for cherry eye repair, and VCA notes ~5-20% risk of re-prolapse requiring additional surgery. My main concern: The hospital was NOT transparent on the phone about whether they can actually perform cherry eye surgery in-house (especially if it requires a specialist). If I had known the expected outcome is referral to ophthalmology, I would have avoided unnecessary exam fees and go directly to the right provider.

I don't even know where to start -- spectacular vet!…read more A month or two before I picked up my pom puppy Geo, I starting researching vets in the Seattle area. I was making calls and emailing... and Dr. Beall replied with a full write up of some first steps I can take right when I pick up my puppy, socialization tips, and just comforting information for someone like me, who was about to have their first puppy all to themselves! When Dr. Beall visited Geo for her first exam when she was just 2 months old, Dr. Beall immediately pulled Geo out of her shell, she had been scared and nervous her first few days but Dr. Beall's bright personality definitely warmed her up. Geo wasn't even phased when receiving her first vaccine and never seemed to feel pain for the rest of them. Additionally, Dr. Beall explained every vaccine to us, being sure to describe exactly what they were for. I really appreciate that she sends a post-exam write up of the vaccines and recommended treatments we spoke about during the visit because it's great for my records and to have in case of emergency. General exams were performed with ease, and as she checked heart rate, weight, etc. Dr. Beall would also answer my questions so there was always enough time for me to ask them all. She even consults on behavioral questions as well and she definitely knows her stuff! She is actually the first person to get Geo to sit! Prices are very affordable for me, even being a college student I don't hesitate to call Dr. Beall for a check up just because I know her visit will not break the bank. Dr. Beall is an AMAZING veternarian and I would definitely recommend, especially if you are a helicopter mom like me... She really was everything I could want in a vet. When I had cats, we would go to the vet at a clinic and exams would always feel rushed and impersonal. Dr. Beall's visits are in an entirely different realm, and if you're looking for excellent care and that personal touch I would see Dr. Beall. Narissa + Geo
