Very professional and it was a relief to find a vet who was using online scheduling and the ability to text

This is pretty good…read more I'm not sure whether it is a four star or a five star.... The staff are quite hard-working and on top of things. Considering how busy, Urban Animal-Capitol Hill is, that says a lot. I didn't realize that you might have to wait hours before being actually seen but they made the long wait easier for me by working me in. My cat has had chronic issues with diarrhea and vomiting. I did not get a hard-sell or any unnecessary tests. Instead, they recommended a very no-nonsense strategy of changing his diet, metronidazole (in case of a bacterial infection--I've used it myself while traveling in South Asia!), and10 packets of Purina Fortiflora, a probiotic. The latter two were very reasonably priced. I also got a "sanitary shave" for my cat (it was expensive but worth it). I wanted to see how they would handle my sometimes ferocious orange tab but I ducked into the restroom and they started it without me--it only took probably 2-3 minutes! I was impressed by the vet tech's ability to "handle" my cat. Cat whisperers? It is such a relief to not have to have go back for multiple visits (I don't have a car! It's difficult to get my cat into a carrier and then wait for a Uber or Lyft!). I find their approach quite reasonable and worthy of confidence.

I asked can they please take him to be looked at while I fill it out. He seemed very inconvenienced with my request and took my dog. Then the doctor's assistant came in and took notes on what was going on. My doggy even went up to her and she didn't even acknowledge him. Then came back with a quote where she placed an amount for medication at $1000. When I questioned that, she said she accidentally put an extra "0" but wanted me to sign it anyway. I told her I will after she fixes her error. She didn't like that and her face said it all. She then paraded my dog that was in a lot of pain, to fix this instead of caring about him. Then the doctor came in and she was lovely. She was very thorough and informative. She actually showed concern for my dog and me. Being a vet showing no compassion to my dog rather it's almost time for us to close. I felt that was their big concern and not my dog. Not one member showed any concern or even acknowledged him. Truly disappointed and I will not be returning to a place that should love animals but didn't show it except the doctor.

I brought my corgi in recently for a pretty nasty rash that seemed to pop up out of nowhere. He was miserable, and honestly, I was freaking out a bit--nothing worse than seeing your pup uncomfortable and not knowing how to help. From the moment we walked in, the staff were all kind, quick, and super understanding. A special shout-out to Dr. Erica Anderson. She was incredible. Not only did she explain everything thoroughly without up-selling (which I really appreciated), but she also took the time to make sure my little guy felt safe and calm during the whole visit. Dr. Anderson quickly diagnosed the issue, gave us a treatment plan that actually worked, and followed up to make sure everything was healing as expected. My corgi is back to his sassy, zoomie-loving self, and I couldn't be more grateful. Seattle has no shortage of vet clinics, but Jet City definitely stands out. Not just for the clean, modern space-- but for the genuine care they show. Highly recommend, especially if you're a fellow corgi parent.

We got lucky and found a parking spot up front (kind of a tight spot), but if you're not as lucky, street parking is available. When we first walked in, what we noticed most was that it was quiet and peaceful. Our cat who is a nervous kitty out of the house seemed calm and just took in her surroundings. We sat in the waiting area with the clinic cat who was so open to belly rubs :) The exam room was small, but has a bench for sitting that can only fit 1-2 people comfortably. Our kitty immediately took to hiding, but the staff were very gentle with scooping her out from under for the exam. She received two vaccines and Dr. Aimee was quick and our cat seemed very comfortable hanging out in her lap during the exam. She answered all of our questions and we were happy with the care our cat received :)

Today I had to say goodbye to my dog. Her name was Daisy…read more Like everyone, I very much love my pets. But I think our story is a bit different. When I was 19 years old, my future wife and I started our pet family. We started with 3 cats (O'Reilly, Hairy, and Buddy) all within about a year or two. After college we decided one morning to get a dog. We went to some random house on the west side of Cleveland that was advertising a litter of puppies and we found Daisy. We were ill prepared for what we were about to go through. She proved to be a rambunctious, loud, and thoroughly trouble-making puppy. We'd regret her lack of formal training for years to come. Before leaving Cleveland for Seattle we took on one more cat, Cici. The car ride across the country would prove to be the first of three for our team of seven. Daisy, despite being a relentless trouble maker, was our girl. She loved the car rides, swimming in rivers and oceans, traveling with her family, and above all else...eating....everything. She had personality. She would love you, lie to you, yell at you, get mad at you, thank you, and protect you. She was not typical. As my team got older, I came to realize that I'd made a huge mistake by getting everyone all at once. It meant I would likely lose them all in a short period of time. I was unfortunately right. A few months ago, we experienced our first loss with O'Reilly. She was arguably the meanest cat on the planet but we loved her deeply regardless. Saying good-bye was beyond terrible as my instinct is to fight relentlessly to keep this team together at any cost. You just can't stop it sometimes and Barry & Jenya Katz have helped us come to terms with this reality of life. I am very grateful to them. They told me when we'd done as much as we could and they were right. When I woke up this morning, I knew Daisy was spent. My once energetic and rambunctious pup was now ready to sleep. Jenya came over to my apartment with her wonderful tech Jessica and helped me say good-bye. It was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do but they have become like family to me and shared my grief. They know my team by name and they care as I do that they each feel love and comfort to the last minute. I know this is a bit heavy for Yelp but pet owners who truly care will appreciate this story. These people have helped us keep this team together more times than I can count. The clinic staff and veterinarians have not let me down. They haven't let my team down. You should trust them with your team too.

Brought my two senior kitties here for a little over a year. Good, but not perfect experience…read more They're a lot disorganized but largely very caring and responsive. I'm an established patient, they know me and my partner (and my cat!). Unfortunately, asking for an update on labwork yesterday culminated in an absolutely bizarre phone conversation with one of the receptionists that ended with "Look, we have lots of other patients. We can transfer your records to another vet if you're unhappy." And then hung up. That is, without a doubt, an insane thing to be ok saying to a client. I just wanted to know whether I needed to postpone my upcoming appt to wait for the labs! I no longer feel like there will be a good standard of care so I'm taking them up on the "find a new vet" threat. My 17 year-old cat gets to re-establish care elsewhere. This absolute catastrophe could've been avoided with the sentences: "Sorry about that, you should've heard back today but we are now expecting it early tomorrow. I wouldn't reschedule your appointment." Instead I got "I don't know what's happening with your pet. Do you want to reschedule the appointment or not?" Maybe things will work out for you here, for me they did for a while, but also maybe they'll rudely show you the door when you ask for an update on your pet. I won't risk that level of volatility in my pet's health care. I don't think you should either.

Last…read moresummer, a young bird managed to injure itself next to our home; we have a feeling the poor thing accidentally flew into the side of our house and ended up with a broken wing. We kept an eye on them for a a few days hoping that after some water and a little time to rest, the bird would find it's way to the sky again, but unfortunately, this was not the case. After reaching out the Bird Clinic of Seattle, it was discovered that this specific type of bird couldn't be treated by them and they suggested reaching out to a local vet for euthanization. Easy, right? This is Seattle - there's TONS of veterinaries here... After calling no less than half a dozen vets within a 10 mile radius of our home who refused to help (including the vet we USED to take our cats to who continually fat shamed them), we called Atlantic who graciously said they could assist AND offered same day service. We put the bird in a shoebox and brought it over. I asked the front desk person what form of payment they preferred and the response was, "Nah. There's no need to pay us for this kind of service. Thank you for doing the right thing and bringing this poor bird in." Fast forward, my big guy cat woke me up a few months ago growling very early in the morning. It was obvious he was in a lot of pain, but our regular vet clinic didn't open until 9am vs. Atlantic who's phone lines open at 7am. I called them and immediately got an appointment for him to be seen later that afternoon. Frankly, the quality of care and genuine kindness that Dr. Monahan and her staff continually show us is incomparable to that of our last vet. I have bumped into vet techs at Atlantic whom I've never met, but express so much joy when my big guy cat shows up for follow ups. Everyone from the doctors to nurses to the front desk folks are always thorough and wonderful and we've never had an issue getting an appointment on the same day. We decided to move our cats here for primary care permanently. If you're looking for a vet that's happy to answer questions, not fat shame your pets, come up with health solutions and are generally an outstanding group of people who deeply care for animals and love what they do, this is the place.

I arrived for my scheduled appointment only to be told by Elliott Lead that there was no record of it in their system. I showed a screenshot confirming my appointment and Elliott acknowledged that this same issue had already happened earlier that day which means they were aware of a problem with their scheduling system. Even with this admission and with my dog being sick they refused to see her. What made this experience even worse was the complete lack of care and accountability. When I shared my concern about being turned away with a sick pet Elliott responded in a dismissive and condescending way suggesting I must not have received a confirmation email or text even though I had proof of the booking in front of them. There was no ownership of their mistake and no compassion for my dogs wellbeing. Elliott did not offer to help find another appointment at any Urban Animal clinic did not offer to see if there was a cancellation and did not provide any support or guidance on where to seek care. I had to search for an emergency clinic on my own and spent three hours trying to get my dog the care she needed because Urban Animal refused to assist after their own scheduling error. This level of neglect lack of responsibility and absence of empathy is unacceptable for any veterinary practice especially one trusted with the health of our pets. Tymber deserved better and so does any animal brought to Urban Animal. Because of this experience and the unprofessional conduct I will not be returning and I cannot recommend Urban Animal to anyone looking for reliable or compassionate veterinary care.
