We had one of the best vet visits ever with Dr. Andrew Kures at Seattle Northeast Veterinary Hospital! He was incredibly patient and took the time to really listen to our concerns about our dog Cinnamon. He walked us through all the treatment options in detail and clearly explained at what point we should escalate care if needed. It's great to find a vet who takes this much time and care with both the pet and the owners. read more

We had two kittens who had ringworm and the staff of NEVH helped us enormously through it all. The female kitten also had congenital issues. I bet I have seen all these vets. As with everything, some vets are a better fit for me/my animals than others, but all were caring and kind. I am really grateful we found them. read more

Don't go here. We have dealt with them over the last decade with several pets. Vet is unhelpful and poorly run vet. Last visit they tried to get us to get vaccines they had already given my dog 2mons prior, wasted 30mins of our time asking questions, and then told us because of a technicality that I would half to reschedule and needed to leave. The other dog i took there they insisted she had an hyperthyroidism and after several visits with no luck after chasing tests and treatment, took her another vet for second opinion. One cray found a base ball tumor in her liver prevent her from eating. Again dont go here. They arent pragmatic and solutions based simply want to run a battery of tests that lead no where. read more

WOW. We just had the most amazing experience with Dr. Mandel and the wonderful vet tech/assistant whose name I am forgetting (sorry!). My dog has handling sensitivities and is terrified of the vet- not to mention he is VERY large and can be hard to handle. Dr. Mandel and the vet tech were so extremely patient and kind. They clearly understand anxious dogs. They did not rush my dog, took the time to make him comfortable, and are very aware of dog body language and signals. I am SO grateful that we have found a vet who gets our dog. Thank you!!!!! read more

I've been going to Northeast Veterinary Hospital nearly from the day I moved to Seattle 20 years ago. I find their staff friendly and thorough, and I get the strong sense that their doctors and staff genuinely care about the animals in their care. One of the hardest moments in my life was when I took my cat of 18 years, who was quite ill at the time, for his last veterinary appointment. The staff was kind and caring, and even wrote me a personal note a week later checking in on me. I continue to go yo Northeast with my latest feline friend, who, although she never looks forward to the trip, does enjoy the attention they give her. I can't imagine taking her anywhere else. read more

We've rotated through basically all of the vets at this clinic over the past 5 years, and while some took our concerns seriously, others were dismissive and apathetic. Our bulldog died of leukemia a few days after Dr. Ward dismissed our concerns and told us the sudden wasting in his temples was normal. She suggested acupuncture to address his very obvious pain instead of the medication we asked for because it would "just mask the issue." I will never take another animal I care about to this hospital. read more

My little one was sneezing a lot and he is normally unperturbed by anything in life. Naturally I panicked and called Northeast Vet Hospital to see if there were any last min appointments first thing on Saturday morning. Thank goodness they were able to squeeze us in! We arrived ten minutes early and were seen about ten minutes late. The appointment lasted about 20 minutes and the vet was very calming and sweet with my little guy. Nothing ended up being wrong with him, but I was relieved to hear it from someone who knows allergies from more nefarious illnesses. The sneezing went away on its own after about a week. I wouldn't hesitate to come to this vet hospital again in the future. They have plenty of parking in front and back, and staff is friendly and helpful! read more

I can't say enough good things about the care my dog has received here. Dr. Turner spayed her recently, and everything went so smoothly. I was a little nervous going in, but the whole team was incredibly kind and attentive -- I felt like she was in great hands the entire time. It's also super convenient to book appointments online, and we've always been able to get in to see a vet when we need to. Overall, just a really positive experience. I'm so grateful for how well they've taken care of my pup! read more

Saved by Grace: Dr. Amy Ward came in on her day off to save my dog Grace, and we were a new patient. She was in pain, lethargic, and not eating. After X-rays, Ultra-sound, Examination, and Blood Work, it turned-out that she had Pancreatitis. An injection of an anti-nausea and an antibiotic had her on the mend. The staff there is wonderful, and Dr. Ward and her crew have my complete confidence. Brian Davis read more

We loved our vet here in 2020, but she unfortunately left the practice. Our recent experiences have not been so positive. We brought our rescue dog to the practice for an exam with a vet we had not met previously. She entered the room without introducing herself. The vet tech quickly grabbed our dog without communicating what she needed or introducing herself to him and stressed him out. She conducted a hasty exam, did not give me a chance to ask questions. She then stepped out, said she would be back. The tech came back and said they were ready to check me out. I had to ask for the vet to come back to actually talk with me and explain her recommendations. This vet is no longer listed on the website, so perhaps has left. Unfortunately we have had negative experiences with 3 vets here (one of whom is still working there) so when seeing someone new, it's very hit or miss. We came back several months later for a blood draw, were told the results would be back the next day and we'd get a call. Three days and two phone calls later, we're told the results are back but the vet needed to be the one to tell us the results. It took a lot of effort on our part to get the results for our seriously ill pup. We have come back to see Dr. Ivory specifically, and have had positive experiences with her. She is knowledgeable and compassionate and has good bedside manner. I would recommend her for care. read more

Pro. Friendly staff, clean waiting rooms, clean clinical spaces, compassionate vets. Con. Prescription ordering can be hit or miss. Unsubscribing from Vetsource is IMPOSSIBLE. TLDR; Northeast Veterinary Hospital as a service has been a mostly positive experience. We've taken our pets to them for several years. During the pandemic, they were professional and had a seamless approach to maintaining examinations. The only aspect of their service that could be better is prescriptions. On two occasions, we've had to settle on the "human" equivalent of drugs. This also required us to break them down ourselves, leading to imbalanced dosages. But, the main reason we are giving them the lowest grade is because NVH added our email address to the Vetsource online service. Like a parasite, we continue to get solicitations from Vetsource, on behalf of Northeast Veterinary Hospital. This after unsubscribing several times! So, yeah, because of this issue, I'm giving a 1 star. read more

My dog is an incredibly anxious guy with a history of being attacked, and northeast veterinary hospital has become the only place I trust for his wellness check ups or nail trims. I've been bringing my pets here (cats and dog) for about 13 years. I've always gotten great advice on pet care and pretty thorough info on my pets' growth. I've been lucky to have pets that have been healthy, so the only time they've really had to visit the vet was for their annual visits. But about two years ago, my beautiful Black Lab started to show signs of aging. The vets and techs have all been super supportive and helpful. When I decided this year that it was time to put my girl down, I received support and sympathy. I'd never had to put a pet down and it was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. My three kids and I were taken with our pupper to a private, quiet room and we were given time to cry, grieve and be with our beautiful girl. All the staff were kind and patient, and although we stayed past closing, they didn't hurry us out. I know that after a long day at work, everyone wants to go home, but honestly, I didn't realize they had closed until we left. The kindness during the procedure will never be forgotten. We're still grieving our pupper, but I know that grief is shared by the staff at NE Vet Hospital. They sent a sympathy card, called when the ashes were ready to be picked up and again, expressed their sympathy. Thanks to all the staff for their understanding, thoughtfulness, support and kindness during this difficult time. read more

Never had a more awful experience with a vet clinic. I'm a disabled veteran and made an appointment for my service dog. My social worker called with me to request a reasonable accommodation for me to come in with my service dog. We were assured this wouldn't be any issue, we clarified and were explicitly told I would be accommodated and would be able to go in. Morning of, I go three miles in my wheelchair to get to this appointment, where I'm told that I can't come in, in spite of previous assurances. This is so wildly unprofessional. They then repeatedly tried to gaslight me by saying I must have misunderstood. My social worker has verified that they did indeed explicitly assure me I'd be able to go in. They also tried to convince to still pay them for an establishing care visit, even though they told me I had no assurance of being able to go in in the future. So disappointed and upset with this terrible service. I booked this appointment weeks ago and called in between to verify the details and my accommodation, and now I'm left in the lurch trying to get scheduled with another vet in the timeframe I need. If you're a disabled person, do not go here. read more

Alas, another good local company takes a dive due to sellout to Southern Veterinary Partners. Had an emergency situation that became a nightmare. You have to take whomever is available & the pickup Vet was terrible. Slow, uninformative and ultimately recommended going to emergency Vet for a $2500. infusion. Yes $2500. for a 9.5 YO beloved dog. What do you do with that? The emergency Vet was better but still ended up with double costs. I guess Vets are following in the footsteps of our forprofit supposed healthcare system. So sad. In addition have been trying to get a prescription refilled at Costco. Same place I got it twice. It's taken 3 weeks and still no script. Is this rocket science? Had to pay $10. for 4 pills which was a 2-day supply and still not filled. Needless to say I'm looking for a new vet - preferably local if anyone can help! read more

While I understand that we are in a time of pandemic, there needs to be an alternative contingency for animals that have separation anxiety and cannot be away from their owners. Yesterday we brought our Lab mix for the first time to this location as he'd been having some urinary issues. Our previous vet seemed to be overcharging us and so we wanted to try a new location and were recommended this one. First off, when the tech came out to take our dog in, she didn't try to comfort or distract him. We could easily see that he was nervous and did not want to leave. A few minutes after they went in, we started hearing barking from the building from one dog. Ours. Around 10 minutes later, we got a call from the vet that he was not letting them touch him, had tried to bite a tech, and was now guarding the exam room and wouldn't let them in. Instead of stopping everything right there, they put us on hold. Meanwhile we're sitting outside, unable to go in, listening to hold music, mixed with our dog's barking and howling. Still on hold, around 10 minutes later, we got a call from another line, from one of the techs. They were unaware we were on hold and when we told them, they informed us that the vet - remember the one who put us on hold?- had LEFT FOR THE DAY. At this point, we were told that we could take our dog home and just bring in a sample for them to test instead. We did that, taking a sample to them the next day. We were then told that no they couldn't test it since they hadn't done an exam yet. My objection isn't to the fact that they couldn't test the sample. It's to the fact that they LIED to us and said that despite not being able to do an exam, they could run the needed tests on the sample. Throughout our interaction with the people there, we got no empathy, no kindness. I'd much rather go to a vet that overcharges us than this one. read more

This used to be a good place. Over the years it has deteriorated in quality of care. Our dog went in to have a small tumor removed and while sedated get his teeth cleaned. They pulled three teeth. He got necrotizing fasciitis from the procedure, never diagnosed even though he was brought in three times post op. 6 days post op, after a visit that same day to the clinic, we took him to a vet hospital had emergency surgery and the bacteria had taken over. He had to put him down. He was 6, the best dog ever. Don't go here!! If it would let me leave negative stars I would. read more

Asked me to arrive at 8am for dental cleaning for pup...then could not tell me when procedure would be done/how long it would be. So at noon, went to lunch and tried calling to see/get an update...only to get an automatic response saying they are closed for training from 12-2pm.... When I went back to the vet at 2pm to see what the update was, they said pup had yet to have her procedure....from there promptly asked them to bring me my pup so we could leave...but we still had to pay the $100 for pre-cleaning bloodwork for a cleaning that never took place. We waited 6 hours...Worst part is, they told us not to feed her past midnight the night before...so all day, she was waiting in the back and hungry. I will not be going back. I strongly recommend not using this place. read more

We adopted our pup from Seattle Humane, and were given a voucher for a free vet visit at an approved clinic in King County. A close friend of mine was working at the clinic when I was researching clinics to schedule at, and told me that NE accepted my voucher. Over the course of our time going to NE Vet, we have consistently had issues booking an appointment; multiple times we have called and automatically been put on hold, waiting 15+ minutes, only to be hung up on when we were the next caller in the que. I'm sure it was a technical malfunction, but frustrating nonetheless, and it seems that if it is consistently happening, there is a serious staffing issue that should be re-evaluated. We've seen multiple different veterinarians in this clinic, and in particular, we had a really hard time processing the lack of "bedside manner" from Dr. Ward. She treated us as if we were incompetent and negligent when trying to figure out our newly adopted dogs onset allergies. We have actively avoided scheduling with Dr. Ward since then, and others were much nicer, but scheduling is still such a huge inconvenience that we chose to find and establish care at another clinic. read more

Terrific vets and support staff. They explain problems/treatments. Been going there for years, no complaints. ‍

After several trips to emergency vet clinics and a terrible local vet, we finally discovered this place which literally save our beloved cats life and did everything they could to work with us financially. The owner came in and did the emergency surgery he needed and the staff went out of their way to show us kindness and compassion. Could not recommend this place enough. Northeast Veterinary Hospital - This is Goose! He is alive because of this clinic! - Veterinarians Near Me - Seattle, Washington

I hesitated writing this review but based on others with similar experiences I felt like I should express my frustrations with this clinic. My family has been bringing out pets here for years, but after several bad experiences and a lack of response from their office manager I will never use NE Vet again. We brought in a new puppy for a puppy exam, and waited 25+ minutes to be called after we sent an initial text message alerting them to the parking spot we were in. After the exam we were told that it would be better to stretch out her rabies vaccine until she was closer to 16 weeks. I asked if that would be an entire new vet visit or if it could be done by a tech (and so to not be charged an additional $60 for another visit). We were told that we wouldn't be charged for another full visit, but instead a tech visit so we agreed and booked another appointment. When we brought her again we again waited 30+ minutes before they brought our dog back. We were charged for a vet visit, saying that all puppy visits had to be full vet visits. When I said that we had been told something different the last time we were there, the person on the phone responded by saying that was incorrect and she needed my credit card number. I decided to cancel an upcoming appointment for our other dog. When asked via email if I would like to reschedule, I responded by letting them know we would be looking for a new clinic. I said that if the manager would like to reach out to talk about what happened I'd be happy to speak with them. I received no response. I understand the challenges that COVID has presented, but this clinic is obviously understaffed, is overbooking appointments, and isn't concerned about retaining longtime clients. read more

UPDATE: The Vet reached out to me via phone and gave me time to explain how everything went down. He was genuine in wanting to make it right for me. Which I greatly appreciated. I've had good experiences here (hence the 2 stars) but the two rude staff members I interacted with today ruined that. I walked in asking if my dog could get her glands done. The front desk said, rudely, that's fine but for future reference we aren't offering that service because of the virus. Which I completely understand so I asked if I should come at a different time and they said no it's fine. I also asked if it's alright that I be with her because she gets anxious and they said it shouldn't be a problem, it looks like there's a note on file saying that. So I waited in the treatment room. Then the next staff comes in and says that they're going to take my dog into a separate room because of the social distancing requirements. I asked if there was any way I could be in the same room with my dog if I was 6 ft away from her (the staff). She said, rudely, if I stood at the door way, she would do the service and her coworker would hold my dog. But wouldn't that mean her and her coworker would be less than 6 ft apart? So I said I won't do it and left. I completely understand the safety requirements we need to take with the virus. But getting told yes at the front then no in the back is a waste of my time. I work in customer service myself and there is a better way to speak people. I know this is a hard time for everyone right now so hopefully it's just because they've had a bad day. read more

I am leaving this as neutral, because when trying to make an appointment for a new patient, even if there is an urgent need -- don't expect it to be soon. I called today for an senior dog who has allergies (we recently moved to this area) and his allergies are the worst they have ever been. The soonest was May 20th. And when I explained the situation and that I really was hoping not to wait that long, the response was 'oh yeah, I understand that' and crickets. No solution, just a shrug. Not really great for long term survival of a business unless they have repeat clients who continually get new pets. Just a heads up. read more

I've been very pleased with my dog's care at NE Veterinary Hospital since establishing services in 2020. We have seen Drs. Tweed, Ivory and most recently Turner for routine care, IVDD, a corneal ulcer and the latest, a small mass on my pup's metacarpal pad that I thought was fungus. Dr. Turner examined her thoroughly, found this mass and completed a fine needle biopsy (happy to report this is a benign mass). Dr. Turner scheduled this fine needle biopsy appointment on her LUNCH BREAK the next business day knowing I was anxious about this unexpected finding and wanted to get the biopsy done and send to cytology. Every time I've had to access care, I am able to get timely appointments (this most recent visit was a same day appointment). The administrative staff, vet techs, and doctors are professional, compassionate and provide wonderful care and attention to my pup and my concerns. I highly recommend NE Veterinary Hospital! I used to bring my dog here and always hated it. The front desk staff is rude and you can tell they don't care. A lot of the time they would be chatting about their weekend plans and such instead of helping the pet parents. They charge WAY WAY WAY too much. The reason for my review is, I moved out of town and needed to get paperwork transferred, it was the most difficult thing ever. When you tell them you are leaving, they delete EVERYTHING right away. The vet out of town called to ask a question and they told her they didn't have any info and hung up! Out of the vets in Seattle, this is the overpriced corporate company that you don't want to go to. I will be back with my dog and WILL NEVER take him here again. read more

The Frontdesk people were not very friendly. I had to wait way too long in the waiting room for my appointment. While I was sitting there two different customers came in and was called back before I was. When I did get called back, I felt like the vet tech was judging me for the breed of dog I have. I thought the vet was very good and friendly, but I do feel I was being cross sold on items I didn't really want. I was told to come back in 4 weeks to get the follow-up shots (2 shots). When I called to make my appointment the lady at the front desk told me I had to have an office visit to get her shots (that's an additional $90.00). I asked her why since I was just there less than a month ago. She said because the vet said she would like to see her again. I said, why?.... nothing has changed in 3 weeks. I feel like this is price gouging. There was no reason why I needed to see the vet again when in fact the vet tech could have vaccinated my puppy. I feel like that was a way to just get more money out of me for no reason. read more

So, eight years later I decided to try Northeast Vet Clinic again. Once for a yearly check up, once because my Scotties behavior seemed to indicate there might be something causing him discomfort and once because he was exhibiting behavior which meant he probably had a UTI. The staff who answered my initial phone call about the possible UTI scheduled him for an appointment as soon as possible, next day, 6pm. All of the vets we saw were competent and personable. The techs were kind and caring with my elderly boy. I particularly like Dr Alison who explained in depth, offered opinions and very kindly helped me with collecting a urine sample (difficult for me due to disability). Turned out he does have a UTI and I got a call the next morning and was able to pick up his antibiotics a few minutes later. Will definitely be going back for vet care. read more

We have been taking our 1-year old pittie/collie rescue, Nina, to Northeast Veterinary Hospital since we got her in April 2020. We have had a positive experience each time, and ever since her first visit when she learned that they give Milkbones inside, Nina is happy as a clam whenever the vet techs come to the car to bring her inside (she even whines when it's time to say goodbye). The folks who answer the phone are always patient and helpful when I call to ask if we need to bring her in because ate something weird (Nina's "leave it" is definitely a work in progress...). Most recently, we took her in for some recurrent GI upset that had us worried. Dr. Fisher was very helpful in explaining his recommended treatment and what symptoms to be on the lookout for in the coming days. When her fecal test came back negative the next day, Dr. Fisher took time out of his schedule to talk with my husband on the phone and answer our remaining questions. Nina is feeling better now but it's a comfort to know that Northeast Animal Hospital is right down the street in the event that she starts feeling unwell again. Their regular, pre-scheduled appointments are booking quite far out right now (2-3 weeks lead time), but they reserve quite a few slots each day for walk-ups. As long as you call right when they open at 8:00 AM, it shouldn't be a problem to get an appointment if your furry friend is feeling sick. read more

She loves the brachycephalic breed and was highly recommended among the bulldog community. She is wonderful with ours! We had some issues with our bulldog this morning, where he was experiencing some vommiting. Unfortunately, Dr. Tweed wasn't in, but the staff was very accomodating and got us in with Dr. Duyungan. He was just as amazing and gave us options for care which is something we appreciated. Our little guy turned out to be okay and we are thankful for such a kind staff. Everyone, bar none, at Northeast Veterinary Hospital seems to love their job. Doesn't matter whether it's the front desk, the Veterinary Assistants, or the doctors, everyone is happy, professional, and appears to LOVE their furry clients.
