Our furry feline daughter is in good hands here at Maple Leaf Veterinary Care Center! The facility is clean, staff is kind and attentive, and the docs take their time to explain different treatment care options. Location is also super convenient. While parking is limited, they usually have spots available. Overall, solid choice for your fur babies! read more

The most regretful decision I've ever made. Failure in care with devastating consequences. My cat Cubic was diagnosed with CKD at this clinic, but the doctor failed to recommend ultrasound imaging- she only said it was optional. She also responded inadequately to continuously worsening bloodwork and urine results. No one suggested further testing despite months of significant deterioration. The doctor was only in the clinic 1-2 days per week and always busy, making it nearly impossible to communicate directly with her. When my cat stopped eating for days, an assistant actually discouraged me from completing another blood test, saying 'your doctor said once every 6 months should be enough.' Two days after they told me his latest lab work showed 'some progressing but nothing too bad,' I brought him to the ER. They found 3-4 LARGE tumors in his stomach with just a physical examination- they didn't even need ultrasound imaging to detect them. My baby died from late-stage lymphoma three days later. We are completely heartbroken. Timely imaging and proactive follow-up on abnormal results could have completely changed the outcome. read more

The staff does a great job of taking care of our cat. Thanks Dr. Morrison and team! You're all wonderful.

After having been a client for 18 years of receiving the best possible care from the team, it pains me to give this bad review. To make a long story short I reached out to them this morning with an urgent request. Apparently, I was given incorrect advice, which ultimately resulted in a 24 hour delay in care. The Vet wouldn't talk with me and instead had the office manager call me back. She blamed the breakdown on poor training. They completely fell down when I needed them the most. I don't believe this would have happened if Dr. Shini still owned the practice, however private equity purchased the practice in 2023. I'm very disappointed and will be looking for another Vet. read more

AVOID THIS CLINIC The Incompetence was Astounding I arrived just one minute past their "10-minute grace period", which I was not made aware of. It was not verbally stated to me, it is no where on their website, nor is this "10-minute grace period" mentioned in the appointment confirmation text. They turned me away without any consideration for the urgency of the situation. I explained that my dog had been having diarrhea for a week and stopped eating. Despite being visibly distressed and practically in tears, all they could offer was a pack of OTC probiotics -- something I had already tried. As a dentist, I cannot comprehend turning away an emergency patient for being one minute past a "grace period". To make matters worse, they referred me to another clinic that closed in 15 minutes -- showing a complete lack of awareness or coordination. I was left scrambling. The staff's overall demeanor was incredibly frustrating. There was no sense of urgency or can do spirit. I was eventually seen by a third clinic, Urban Vet, who was responsive and genuinely committed to helping. They were doing all they could to help, which was the complete opposite feeling I got at Maple leaf. I would strongly recommend Urban instead to anyone looking for a vet that actually shows up for you and your pet in a time of need. God forbid your pet is sick and Maple leaf is their life line.... ---------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE: The Incompetence Continues My response to the hospital manager: I called the clinic (see photo), 2 days prior to the scheduled appointment to ask if I could be seen sooner to address urgent symptoms. You stated, she could be seen by your clinic at her upcoming appointment to address these symptoms. This phone call should have been documented in the chart notes. As you know, this is a liability to not have documentation. Your response has revealed further disorganization of the clinic and its auxiliary. So in conclusion, the clinic was clearly made aware of my dog's urgent needs prior to my appointment and when I arrived. And they did not care. To respond otherwise is lacking accountability and simply false. If you are looking for a vet that demonstrates genuine care and compassion through their actions ...keep looking. read more

My beloved Barney received the BEST care at Maple Leaf Veterinary Care Center. We started coming here when he was already a senior dog, after moving up from California and then having our first Seattle vet go out of business, but I am so happy we found our way to these people for Barney's last few years when he needed TLC the most. I felt 100% confident in the skill and judgment of every doctor we saw, and he got a warm reception and compassion from everyone in the office. As his health started declining near the end, we were in here a lot, but no one pushed me to do anything excessive. They just helped me keep him comfortable and as healthy as possible under the circumstances. When it came time to say goodbye after almost 16 years with our sweet boy, Dr Shini came to our home and was exactly the presence we needed: a calm and caring guide. It was such a heartbreaking day, one I'll never forget, but I am so grateful to Dr Shini for helping us through it. After giving ourselves time to grieve, we are getting another puppy and will be bringing her to the excellent staff at Maple Leaf Veterinary Care Center. read more

We have been with this vet for years for care with our cat and our late dog. We've bounced around between Dr Libbe and Dr Morrison mostly but both have been so great, caring, and helpful in the care of our dog throughout his life and especially at the end. The clinic is responsive to my inquiries and just overall very kind people. Even though we've moved further from the Mapleleaf area for several years now, we continue to come here and will continue to do so. read more

If you're simply looking for a clinic to handle routine vaccinations, Maple Leaf Veterinary Care Center will suffice. However, when it comes to urgent or more complex health concerns, don't expect support. Their default response is to refer you elsewhere, typically an animal hospital without any attempt to assess or assist. Trying to book an appointment for something worrisome? Be prepared to wait at least a week. This delay can be critical, especially when your pet is in distress. If you're seeking a long-term veterinary partner, someone who will be there through both routine care and emergencies? This is not the place. The staff consistently demonstrate a lack of compassion and a troubling disregard for your pet's well-being. Poor scheduling practices result in pets being held for excessive periods, even when stress could worsen their condition. It's hard to believe this clinic views animals as patients at all. Communication is another major issue. The front desk acts as a barrier between pet owners and the clinical team, making it nearly impossible to get updates or post care guidance. Whether this is due to staff indifference or a deeper cultural problem within the clinic, the result is the same: your pet's health suffers. As someone with over 11 years of experience in healthcare, I find the operations at this clinic deeply concerning. Their failure to meet even basic standards such as timely care, clear communication, and post procedure support is unacceptable. Yes, this is a veterinary clinic, not a human hospital. But if you're offering services that parallel human healthcare, you should be held to similar standards. One of the most fundamental principles in healthcare is to provide the kind of care you'd want for your own family. Sadly, that ethos is nowhere to be found here. read more

After visiting a few different clinics in the Seattle area, this veterinary care center has by far been our favorite. The whole team is very attentive and kind, and you get a sense that they actually care about your pet vs. visits feeling merely transactional. Some reviews have read that they're very money-oriented or will try to squeeze every penny out of you, but I personally haven't experienced anything like that after being a client for almost two years now (8 visits total for 2 pets). I recently brought my cat in less than a month after her annual exam and they only charged half price for a "brief visit" which was a pleasant surprise. From my past experiences, exams have always been one flat charge. They do mark up their Rx medications quite a bit, but my understanding is that's just industry-standard, especially coming from an independent/standalone practice. It's unrealistic to expect them to be able to compete with Chewy, Costco, etc. And they've always given me the prescription to take elsewhere when I asked and never made me go directly through them for the meds. Service and communication has also never been a problem. I've emailed them and called over the phone and every experience has been perfect. Another thing I appreciated about this place is how seriously they took COVID precautions. Even now, patients are asked to stay in their car if it's just a technician visit, and masks are still required for those who come inside. Not only are they cautious, but they did a really great job at streamlining the process so that it's easy to follow and efficient. Bonus: they mailed us a cute little welcome package after our first visit! Before Maple Leaf we were in California and loved our vet there so much, we didn't think we'd find a new vet that would compare, but we were wrong. Maple Leaf Veterinary Care Center truly has lived up to our hopes and expectations. read more

I'v been bringing my dog to this clinic since 2021. However, my most recent visit has left me deeply disappointed. Half years ago, my dog underwent an ultrasound appointment. Unfortunately, what was meant to be a routine procedure turned into a distressing incident for my dog. The shaving process carried out for the ultrasound resulted in severe clipper burns and cuts all over her belly and sides. After done the ultrasound, my husband picked her up in a rush and went back to work, he didn't notice anything wrong. Neither the technicians nor the doctor informed my husband about this serious issue when he picked her up. It wasn't until I returned home from work at 6:00 PM that I noticed that all the fresh wounds.... Seeking resolution and an apology, I reached out to the clinic, only to find the situation handled in a disappointing manner. the doctor just complained about the clippers...When I expressed my desire for the staff responsible for the incident to make an apology, I was met with a lack of understanding and empathy at the front desk. The response I received was disheartening, as I was told that the only apology note available was from the doctor who was not directly involved in this incident. As a pet owner who deeply cares for the well being of my furry companion, I find it incredibly disappointing that this clinic failed to take responsibility for the actions of their staff and provide a proper apology. The emotional distress caused by this incident continues to linger... read more

I took my 13 year old cat in for a checkup and they said he's in perfect health. I feel like that should mean in ever aspect. A month later he died at the animal hospital from kidney disease, heart failure, blood clots, stroke. I've had him since I was 9 years old. I feel like a clinic should be more thorough with their screenings before they say "perfect health." I've never had to endure any sort of death in my life and he had to go. My vet at the Maple Leaf Veterinary Care Center in Seattle set a high bar in terms of what to expect for vet care. I took our family cat here from her first vet appointment as a tiny kitten, all the way till she was a six year old and felt that the care she received here was caring and effective. Our cat, like many, can be nervous and a little grouchy at the vet, but here she went along for the ride for every visit and had positive experiences. The vet always took the time to pet her, talk softly and calm her down and then gently and stealthy went on to do a very through exam. Treatment was effective: from treating an abscess after a scary scuffle with a neighborhood cat-bully, to eye drops to fix a painful infection, things went smoothly and the vet's care proved straightforward and effective. An added bonus: their offices are new, beautiful, and modern. They recently moved to a remodeled facility on the main drag in quiet Maple Leaf. Their front desk staff is professional, friendly and efficient. We never had any problems here, just six years of good experiences, until near our last appointment, when extra tests were ordered at the site of a vaccination after it had failed to heal and was causing her pain. When I called the business to question having to pay for extra tests at the site of a vaccination they had given, they took full responsibility. The vaccination had been in her shoulder blade rather than a hind leg, per their usual protocol, which caused some confusion on their end, but they offered to cover the follow up appointment and testing. Businesses are like humans: we make mistakes. The fact that they addressed the situation, restored my confidence. If you come here you will get good care, but if anything does come up, they are willing to hear your concerns, take action and make adjustments. That's worth a lot in my book. read more

Just got back from my first visit for my new puppy. Fantastic experience with great pricing. I saw Dr. Teyssier and she was both thorough in asking questions about his health as well as going in depth with answers to my questions. I got support both with physical well being as well as advice for raising a very young puppy. My dog had a fun time there, he was given lots of love and affection. The front desk and vet techs were all great, too. I wish my doctor visits were as pleasant! read more

This place is the very best. All the staff, technicians, and vets are wonderful. They are kind, patient, knowledgeable, and treat my nervous pitbull with total respect. I visited the Maple Leaf clinic for the first time yesterday and was very impressed with my experience. They were able to get me in very quickly, there was little to no wait time for my appointment to begin, and the expense was very affordable. Dr. Anne Heskel was a great listener and made all my concerns feel heard and validated. She really took the time to go through every possible solution for my cat and I never felt rushed. She also did a great job handling my cat. My cat is very docile at home but can be very feisty once in a vet's office. I never felt shamed for this. And I appreciated Dr. Heskel allowing me to be involved with the exam to ease my cat's anxiety. It was the most pleasant and efficient vet visit I've ever had. Definitely recommend this clinic to any cat owners. read more

We have been bringing our cats here for years, three cats in total. We love Maple Leaf Vet. They are so sweet, you can tell they really care about your pets as if they were their pets. These great people here are absolute professionals and are equipped with the experience and wonderful staff it takes to handle difficult dogs. What is untruthful about my review? It is all 100% accurate. This vet clinic is not respectful and attempts to create a false narrative. Initially they had my review taken down. I posted it again as it was a truthful review of my experience with them. Makes you wonder how many other bad reviews they had taken down. I have asked them for evidence of specific services rendered and they have not provided them. I asked them follow-up questions about the imaging to which I have seen no response. Just avoid the head ache of dealing with them and find a different vet clinic. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Maple Leaf Vet Care Center. The entire staff (Vets, techs and front desk) are beyond excellent. Everyone is so knowledgeable and after a few years of visits, I've yet to have an experience where 1 or more team members didn't figure out a way to go the extra mile. My cat is on a special prescription diet, and Deb once stayed open past close for me to ensure I could pick up a case of food when I called from bad rush hour traffic. As an owner of now 2 pets, I am incredibly grateful to have this team in our corner. THANK YOU! read more

Today we took our dog for blood work, prior to having him neutered. After numerous tries for several weeks to receive an advance estimate, they presented it at time of blood work. It was approximately 2x higher than any other quality estimate in the areas for this routine procedure. When asked for an explanation, the lead nurse simply told me they factor in contingencies. I asked if we could remove the cost of additional risk factors, assuming the bill would be lower if no cost over runs occurred. No cigar. We've really grown tired and now wary of this clinic giving us no estimates for expensive procedures, and then charging us up front at an appreciably higher rate than the community norm. Really not happy with this Vet office. Took my bengal cat to the vet and asked them how his teeth were. They said his teeth were fine. I then said what about the one that is missing (they must have not even checked). So then we scheduled an expensive dental procedure to check his teeth. They neglected to inform me before putting him under that they don't do fillings (only extractions). The vet tech told me they needed to remove his main canine tooth (was chipped) before even talking to me about a filling as a potential solution. When I asked about that option, she said that they don't do that type of work and that they refer out to a specialist. WTH?!? Why don't you tell me that you don't do fillings before you put him under for a dental procedure. I would have taken him to that other place and only put him under once if I knew that you didn't do this work. So... basically Maple Leaf Veterinary Care Center is just hustling money out of people, implying that they can do everything (given the costly estimate), and then just referring out. Smh. Now I have to put him under again (which is dangerous), for a filling that they should have told me upfront that they don't do. Update: Received a call from Scott Schini, who absolutely should not be managing any business. I expected an apology for the miscommunication and negligence and instead just got an $800 bill and telling me to go to another Vet Clinic. He refused to even acknowledge the situation or even listen to my feedback and refused to provide my vet records to me upon transfer to a new Vet Clinic. I've been bringing my pets to Dr. Schini since he was practicing in Inglemoor some 20 years ago. I trust him with my pets completely and I trust his judgement. I was searching for a new vet since my pup and I just relocated to Seattle from Southern California and I came across this great place with excellent reviews--thought that i'd try it out. My pup had some sort of skin irritation on multiple parts of his body and after being seen by Dr. Heskel I felt so comfortable going home with him and his treatment plans. It was so incredible to me how our 30 minute visit felt like it was a lot longer (in a good way). Dr. Heskel made it seem like my pup was the only patient she had seen all day. They were diligent and patient with both of us and made sure that my pup was comfortable the whole time. They inquired about his history, diet, stool, behaviors, daily routines... to name a few thorough questions. I've never felt so at peace. My pup has had 2 vet visits before in Southern California and they were both enforcing distancing due to COVID so there was a major disconnect that I didn't get here. I never want to have another vet ever again! read more

If you are looking for a local vet that is both professional and personable then this is the place you have been looking for. Hey, even if you aren't looking for a new vet, then maybe you should be. After our favorite vet Dr. Barbara Deeb from Allpets passed away we were sort of left in limbo without a vet for our ferrets. Don't get me wrong there are definitely enough ferret vets in the Seattle area - but no one even came close to the friendly, highly ferret educated Dr. Deeb. My little guys would love visiting her office so they could run around the reception and taunt the old cat that would sit quietly and take it. We did take them to Exotic Pets on Aurora for awhile, and don't get me wrong the service is great, but there will be no running around in this reception (understandably with the huge range of exotic critters that pass through the doors, that would be difficult). I also don't like it that I seen a different nurse every time I go there. So I decided I wanted a smaller establishment and somewhere closer to my home due to the fact that our little Ziggy has a monthly injection for a tumour that will eventually take his life. Dr. Schini and the staff that assist him are amazing! You know straight away that this man loves and cares deeply for animals - great and small. Like many other yelpers I also received a call the next day to see how Ziggy was doing, now how is that for service! Because I trust fellow yelper and dear friend Faith, I knew that I could trust Maple Leaf Veterinary Care with my two precious Pup-a-lups(TM). Finally a vet that doesn't make you leave with your tail between your legs and that confused "did I just get ripped off by my car mechanic" kind of feeling. The prices quoted and actually charged were so much lower than other vets we have called and visited. They called the next day to check on our dogs and to top it off they sent this really adorable "Welcome" card to our house a week after our visit. Seriously it was adorable, it had a cartoon drawing of all of these really cute animals on the front- I put it on my fridge. Anyway, (I always get off track!) I am seriously grateful for this place. Just knowing that they exist makes me feel better, because as anyone who has a special pet will understand, you just need to know that there is someone out there you can trust to provide quality and affordable health care to your pup-a-lups(TM). Have taken my dog there a few times for a "second opinion" on his digestive and skin issues. Saw Dr. Dittrich, who was nice enough. I was hoping for a fresh set of eyes and perhaps some holistic ideas for the problem. I let her know at the outset that these were my goals for the visit. They did an exam and pretty much said I needed to continue the nasty prescription food that my dog hates. They did do blood tests and suggested that maybe an allergist would be in order but really didn't have anything to add that my usual vet hadn't done. They weren't too helpful in terms of suggesting alternative remedies to my pet's condition. While the service was satisfactory and the care was good, the price was way more than I paid at my usual vet - which is why I've given them a three star rather than a four star. For this level of care and service, I think I'll continue going to my usual vet. read more
