While I didn't fully understand what I was looking at, the fact that they were transparent enough to share images--knowing I could easily research them--told me everything I needed to know about their honesty. They do very good business so they're frequently booked up-- make an appointment if possible, they take preference over walk-ins. I called on a Wednesday morning to see when I could get in, and the earliest appointment they had was Friday. I needed an oil change, my tires inspected, and for them to check on an issue with my AC. You fill out a detailed service form inside the Shell station and the cashier, who is also a garage employee, takes care of it from there. When the mechanic called to give me his report, he followed my instructions to proceed with the oil change but get my permission for any other work needed. He told me my tires were in good condition (and didn't try to upsell me to make a buck). With the roads in Bmore being what they are, it would have been really easy to try that card (which some untrustworthy mechanics do more so with women), but this guy was honest with me and I respect that. He also said that my AC issue wasn't a problem that required any work and might just come and go, though harmless-- so again, saving me cash. The whole process was very efficient and reasonable priced, and the staff was friendly. I definitely recommend!

After doing my own research, it became clear that not everything on the list of repairs were safety-related or required by the state. Only after pressing the issue did the mechanic (named Malik) agreed and revised the list, which already raised red flags about trustworthiness of this shop. The experience only got worse from there. I dropped my car off early the next morning, as instructed, and called later in the day to ask Malik when it might be ready so I could arrange a ride. Instead of a simple, helpful response, I was met with outright hostility. When I asked, "Do you expect the car to be ready today or tomorrow?" Malik curtly replied: "Your car will be ready when it is ready." I asked my question a different way. Malik replied with the same exact response, " It will be ready when it is ready" I tried to explain that I just needed an estimate to plan my transportation. Malik responded "What part of what I told you don't you understand?" This level of rudeness and unprofessionalism toward a paying customer is completely unacceptable. Clear communication and basic respect should be the bare minimum, especially when you're entrusting someone with your vehicle and paying for their time and expertise.
