It was well past 2 o'clock, and I try not to drink coffee after 11ish-o'clock, because it usually messes with my sleep. But I remembered the words of a man much wiser than me who once said, "I never sleep, 'cause sleep is the cousin of death," so I felt like a lil' iced coffee would actually be beneficial, in this case. No regrets. The iced coffee was great! I always forget about iced coffee when I'm at a coffee shop, because I just usually order a hot black coffee. I'm so stuck in my ways, sometimes! But iced coffee was a good choice in this situation, and it came with a little vanilla cream, which was unexpected but a nice indulgence. The Grind is located right across the street from West Virginia University. It was packed when I visited, and I imagine it is almost always packed, because of its location. But the people who work here are very efficient and friendly, and my iced coffee was ready lickety-split. I got my coffee to go, but there are some tables inside the coffee shop to sit and relax, if you wanted to. One of my favorite things about The Grind is that they have a confession box in the restroom. I left a little confession in the box, because it promised that the box was "a safe place to share what you can never tell a soul," and I felt that I could trust this random coffee shop in West Virginia with my whole heart. I left my confession there, and took my iced coffee with me and went on my way.

The strong pungent aroma was a deceitful invitation to its mildly salty cheesy taste on buttered toast. I had looked for it in the past to no avail, and it had been a long time since I had reminisced about it." He went on to say that his wife surprised him with bread bought from here, and that clinched the deal for me. I promptly ordered two loaves which arrived perfectly packaged a few days later. One went into the freezer while we sliced the other for toast slathered in butter and honey. Mmmmm. Driving to PA from NC is impractical, however, from time to time I'll place an order for salt-rising bread. Well worth the money for a quality-infused trip down memory lane. I provided a complete address AND instructions that they be delivered to the apartment building's desk. They delivered them and dropped them ON THE GROUND outside random apartment complex door. When my son finally located them, cookies were missing (of course) and the remaining cookies and box were covered in ants (as you'd expect for food left outside on the ground). Bad as that is, when I called the store to let them know, the person who answered the phone immediately got nasty with me, telling me it wasnt their fault because they had Door Dash deliver them. When I tried to talk to her about how I didn't order through Door Dash and it's not my problem that they have a poor delivery process, she raised her voice, now yelling, that it's not her problem and that she won't do anything about it. When she stopped, I asked her if she was actually yelling at ME for a terrible delivery and customer experience. She hung up on me! (She should be immediately FIRED!) I will NEVER even consider Insomnia Cookies again nor will everyone me and my son/his friends tell about this awful customer service experience.

This location is so convenient to my work, so they really need to be awesome!! I landed on the Starbucks famous fall drink, you guessed it the pumpkin spice latte. I usually get. Medium and add an extra shot and I like to use almond milk. I can taste the difference. The extra shot is because in my head that will make feel good and not be tired. The drive they line was long but it was moving quickly and of course the Barista was sweet and had a smile. I am really glad I went back. Starbucks has the favorites and no matter what as long as they are mad correctly it's definitely a comfort drink.
