Easily one of my favorite spots in Morgantown. I always have great service here, workers are very friendly. Nice outdoor patio & indoor dining room. Good place to come to do some work or study. Obsessed with the Terra Turkey, it's always amazing! Everything from their bakery case is phenomenal as well. Their cupcakes, cookies, & power balls are my favorites.

This substantial cafe offers indoor seating and an outdoor patio towards the river. It has a breakfast and lunch menu and a large spread of cupcakes and other sweets, which were very pretty but exceeded my needs on the day I dropped in. I was glad to be able to order a quinoa salad, which had multiple fruits and nuts and a pleasant contrast from the jalapeno dressing I got on the side. An iced tea was straightforward but refreshing. I will echo others in saying that the service didn't seem on point. Ordering at the counter wasn't overly speedy, but then they gave me a table number to display when I found my own table. Fair enough, but then people kept wandering around with dishes asking each table if the dish was for them. What were the table numbers for other than to answer this very question? Strange, and service efficiency matters more at a working lunch type of place. But I was happy to have found a worthwhile vegetarian dish in WV.

Popped into Terra Cafe which is situated right on the rail trail in Star City. Very chill spot where folks can get a hearty meal to dine in or to-go. There's also some benches on the trail close by if people want to eat and relax by the river. This place knows it's way the bakery and have some delectable cakes and pastries. I opted for a chewy moist Cinnabon and some quiche with sides. Safe to say I left satisfied. The staff was also super nice. Made great suggestions and even did some fun coffee art.

Very cute place! I got the Terra Turkey and had some of my friend's Ham & Cheese Panini and they were both absolutely delicious. Normally I'm a turkey sandwich girl through and through, but the Ham & Cheese was actually way better and I would highly recommend if you're in between. The turkey is a cold sandwich and the ham&cheese is hot so also keep that in mind. We also had the mimosa pitcher and it was terrific. The inside is quiet and has a great atmosphere. They have a really cute art wall and also had fresh flowers you could buy. The service was also great everyone was so sweet! Definitely will be back!!

Such a cute spot! We've been driving cross country from Arizona to New York and when we drove through West Virginia I knew I had to stop and get a pepperoni roll - one of my best friends is from Morgantown and has always raves about them! I turned to Yelp to find a spot and Terra Cafe came up along with a few different places - the reason we chose Terra was because it seemed like a (liberal lol) place that would probably take the pandemic seriously and also offered tons of vegetarian options as one of our party doesn't eat meat. I ordered a pepperoni roll, the salmon omega club, a kombucha, and a cookie. The salmon omega club came with the tomato chèvre soup - the sandwich was great but I thought the soup was a little bland imo. I also got an extra side of Mac and cheese, which was tasty. I'd recommend the sandwich for sure but even more so the pepperoni roll, which ended up being bigger than I expected, so I only ate like a quarter of the sandwich and saved the Mac and cheese for later too. The chocolate chip cookie was super tasty, but I didn't like the kombucha - it was a ginger pineapple pepper kombucha and I normally like peppery flavors but it wasn't my fav in this combo. The biggest standout here was the fact they took the pandemic so seriously - everyone wore masks, there were spaces to social distance, and plexiglass at the counter. It made me feel very safe and like the business cares about its customers - very impressed. They also had a gorgeous selection of baked goods that would be worth going back for. All in all, loved this spot and would definitely return!

First visit to Terra Cafe and this will definitely will not be my last. Very surprised Morgantown has such a hidden gem. The food was extremely fresh and tasty.

Out of towners, be warned - the other location of Rising Creek (on GPS) is no longer an actual restaurant, but simply makes and ships their bread. We made that mistake, without checking their website, and drove to the other location first. All of that aside, we still arrived at their second location with plenty of time to eat before heading to the football game. I ordered a simple omelette with sautéed peppers, onions and cheese while my dad and my husband decided to try their salt bread with gravy and eggs (think biscuits and gravy but instead of biscuits, it was their infamous salt bread). The omelette was tasty, but nothing special - the type of omelette I could easily make it home. My dad and my husband felt the same about their "biscuits" and gravy and eggs. The service was friendly and the girl was very kind and attentive. The space is simple and non-descriptive. You order at a little window and then take food to eat on their little partially covered patio. We were traveling with our dog and they allow dogs on the patio. The clerk is super friendly. The patio is a mix of old unmatched patio furniture on a layer of mulch. Some of the seating was wet from a recent rain. There are fun signs around. We were the only patrons for an early dinner and found some dry seating. The menu is a blend of chimmichuris, burritos, salads. Food came out fairly quickly. The clerk brought the food out to us on the patio and checked on us later. I ordered the Tijuana Crispy Chicken Salad in an edible tortilla bowl. Wow, it was hot! Buffalo hot! Pickled onions, hand-cut thin fries, fresh mozzarella, fresh lettuce blend, cheddar cheese, and crispy chicken made this salad a winner in my book. (I could have done with a bit less buffalo sauce.) My husband had the Monte Cristo Chimmi. He loved the blend of ham and turkey and the crispy sugar coated chimmi crust. The raspberry jelly was the icing on the cake. I'm Thai and grew up eating very spicy food, including authentic som tam from Thai restaurants, so…read moreI'm very familiar with how Thai spice levels normally feel. This is actually the first time I've had such a strong physical reaction. Most traditional Thai restaurants use fresh Thai chilies when making papaya salad, not large amounts of ground chili powder, because chili powder creates a much harsher, burning heat on the stomach rather than the normal fresh chili heat. I ordered spice level 4 expecting something moderate, but it felt closer to what would be level 9-10 at many Thai restaurants. There was no warning that the spice level was based on chili powder rather than fresh chilies. After eating, I experienced severe stomach burning, dizziness, and almost fainted, which has never happened to me from Thai food before. Information for the chef (from someone Thai, hoping this helps): Fresh chilies and chili powder create different types of heat. Chili powder is made from dried chilies, which concentrates capsaicin (the compound that causes burning). It also often contains more crushed seeds and inner membranes, which hold the highest capsaicin levels. Because it is finely ground, it spreads more evenly and can coat the mouth and stomach, causing a deeper and harsher burning sensation compared to the sharper but cleaner heat from fresh chilies typically used in traditional som tam. I would strongly recommend that the restaurant clarify how their spice levels work and what type of chili they use so customers can make informed choices. Thai food can be spicy, but it shouldn't come as a surprise in a way that causes physical distress. As someone from Thailand, this was not the typical type of spice we associate with authentic som tam. My mom also own Papaya Salad restaurant in Thailand. I know how to make my own dish. This is not authentic and not a good Thai food. 4 5555
