Biscuits and Gravy with hash browns Delicious!

The biscuits and gravy were delicious. Sausage was a little spicy which made it a standout. Biscuits were fluffy and had a great flavor. Potatoes were cooked just right. Service was prompt and server was attentive. Cute decor.

Came in for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Our server could not have been more friendly and pleasant. She brought us all coffees and waters super quick and she made sure the coffee mugs were never empty! The breakfast meals were HUGE portions for the price. The buckwheat pancakes (stack of 3) and scrambled eggs with sausage was way more than I could finish in one sitting. I took half the pancakes with me. The flavor was as expected, nothing crazy! All of the baked goods up front were very tempting. I left with the special of the week, caramel apple pie cookie, and a salty pretzel cookie. Both were amazing. The cookie dough base isn't too sweet at all and it lets the toppings really shine. The decor up front is fun and festive. The seating is well spaced out and the bathrooms were clean. I'll definitely be back, when passing through the area. I'd stop in just for cookies to go!

This is a do not miss locally owned place for travelers and locals. Service is fast and friendly. There are so many good food options it was hard to decide. I had to go with a popular local food, pepperoni roll. It did not disappoint and the homemade chips went perfect. My friend got the homemade chicken pot pie, so big and delicious. Plenty of seating with bright and airy feeling. We could not pass up on taking home some fresh baked goods for later. Such a great selection, it was hard to choose. Do not pass this place up!

me, my friends,, and Pete Padula (GREAT to meet the owner)...so glad to have Apple Annie's in Whitehall!!!

Absolutely 5 stars (more if I could give more stars)! My girlfriends and I decided to visit this recently opened restaurant/bakery and so glad we did. It was a truly enjoyable afternoon of good food, amazing baked goods, and holiday atmosphere! While sitting, the owner stopped by to ensure we were happy, and chatted for a bit - GREAT management! I ordered a cup of chicken noodle soup and Apple club sandwich that came with homemade chips and a side of cole slaw. The soup was the chunkiest chicken noodle soup and awesome!! The sandwich was delicious and loved the sides! Of course, I then had to walk down the long line of AMAZING baked goods - pies, cakes, canolis, cookies OH MY- there were a lot of Christmas cookie trays out on display and selling fast! I highly recommend you stop in or carry out!

We decided to get bakery items to go and they were delicious! I got the banana cream pie, cannoli, chocolate chip, and hot chocolate cookie. The meringue was a little too stiff for my liking on the pie, but overall it was creamy and not too sweet. The people behind the bakery counter were professional and quick.

Today was our second time having Apple Annie's, so this is a 2 visit review. To start the Resturant is super neat and clean. The waitresses during both visits were very informative and polite. The Menu is huge. We got the Apple Jack Chicken sandwich with house chips , Chicken Tenders and Fries, and Pepperoni roll with seasoned fries and house made ranch. Everything was very good! Today we got the Coutry Fried chicken meal with green beans, along with the Salisbury steak meal with green beans and everything was very good! Both meals came with mashed Potatoes and gravy as well. All around a great Resturant!

We had just walked around Valley Falls Park (20 minutes away), and the West Virginians in our group told us that we HAD TO go to Poky Dot for lunch as our 18-month-old granddaughter would surely enjoy the atmosphere. Poky Dot is far more than an ice cream shop, though it's that as well. Our hungry group wanted lunch, and the 50s-style diner did not disappoint! Their food menu is extensive and includes breakfast items, all-day omelets and Benedicts, stacked breakfast sandwiches, munchies (wings, quesadillas, nachos, tater tots), salads, burgers, wraps, croissant sandwiches, hot dogs, big bites, super suppers, soups, and more. Surprisingly, given the diversity of options, four of the five adults in our group ordered burgers (or similar) -- (1) my choice was the Raspberry Kiss Burger ($12.99), which I split with my husband. (Our rating: 5/5). The burger was topped with Swiss cheese, bacon, spring mix, and an amazing raspberry chipotle sauce. I selected the Mac N Cheese as my side. The food was tasty and fresh, the burger was cooked as we like it done, and the quantity was generous. (2) my husband ordered the Cowboy Burger ($13.99), which we also split. (Our joint rating: 4/5). Per the menu, this burger features mushrooms, onions, BBQ sauce, and Swiss cheese -- and topped with a jumbo onion ring. For his side, my husband selected (more) onion rings. Unfortunately, they were out of onion rings, so his burger didn't have the onion ring and he substituted French fries for his side. Overall, the burger was tasty, fresh, and cooked well. However, both of us preferred the raspberry chipotle that was on my burger, and his burger was light on the mushrooms for our tastes. The fries were also weren't crisp. Burger #3 was an Original Poky ($10.99), served with lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles, served with French fries. (Rating: 4/5. The eater found it a bit dry without a sauce on it; fries also not crispy). #4 was the Giovanni ($12.99) from the Big Bites Menu. The Giovanni is half-a-pound of Angus beef, topped with American and provolone cheese and Oliverio peppers, and served on Texas Toast. All Big Bites are served with French fries. The eater rated this dish as 3.5/5, being disappointed that the toast was too small given the size of its meat and peppers topping. Finally, the 5th adult ordered the Chicken Alfredo ($14.99), their fresh grilled chicken served over spaghetti, with their homemade Alfredo sauce. She also got green beans for a side dish. (Not sure of the eater's rating). While the restaurant has a Kids Menu, we brought along cheese, fruit, and other snacks for the baby to happily munch on. Dessert. I'm not sure where to start about the desserts. To say that they're over-the-top is an understatement! Imagine that a single scoop of ice cream weighs one pound. Or that the menu offers a sundae that features 16 scoops of ice cream! We were all quite full but decided that we needed to share some type of dessert. The winner was the Cookie Shake ($14.99), served in a 32-ounce mason jar with your choice of vanilla, chocolate, or strawberry ice cream, topped with a Fudge Round, Nutter Butter, Nutty Buddy, chocolate chip cookie, crushed Oreo's, whipped cream, sprinkles, and a cherry on top. The adults in the group averaged to a 4/5 rating, with some feeling that the shake could've been thicker and/or had some cookie or candy add-ins. The toddler though rated it 10/5! The ambiance (5/5) is quirky and fun, with bright colors everywhere, fun booths to sit in, and fun wallpaper in the restaurant AND in the restrooms. It's worth a visit if only to see the atmosphere. Service (5/5). Our waitress was attentive and friendly, with exactly the personality needed for this environment. Parking was easy and free, just off Fairmont Avenue. All told, our overall rating is closer to 4.5, but I'm rounding it up to 5.0 because it was a fun experience, the food and milkshake were good, and the waitress was attentive. I wish that this restaurant were closer to home!

Back again after a long hiatus! Love Muriale's ever since my first visit as a 20 something!…read moreStopped by on a drive from Pittsburgh with my sister on our way back to Charlotte and Greenville, SC. I talked into the meatball hoagie with a house salad with the house dressing. Can't wait to eat.... The house salad and Italian bread with soft butter were outstanding. By the number of ingredients, that salad was made with a lot of love. Waiting on the meatball hoagie.... The mixed peppers on the meatball with a large mound of melted mozzarella cheese. The sandwich was large enough that it was a struggle to get my mouth around it to take a bite and that's a good thing! The meatballs and red sauce were as good as ever. My sister had never been to Muriale's so she became an instant fan. After 8 years away this meal was great. Don't ever change and keep it classy. Thank you!

As we're temporarily home bound, a friend brought us delicious takeout from Muriale's. We shared two somewhat-similar and tasty entrees, (1) Eggplant Parmesan ($21) featuring lightly breaded and fried eggplant, fresh mozzarella, ricotta, house-made marinara sauce and (2) Veal Parmesan ($24), with lighted breaded and fried veal, fresh mozzarella, and house-made meat sauce. Both entrees were served with a side of spaghetti and tomato-based sauce, house salad, and garlic toast. Note that the house salad was excellent, consisting of fresh greens, onions, cheese, olives, tomatoes, pepperoni, and roasted red peppers. We chose the balsamic vinaigrette as our dressing. (Side salads in the Fairmont/Clarksburg area are often only iceberg lettuce and a shaving or two of carrots). Our initial thought was that the prices were a bit on the higher side. However, in seeing the high quality of the food, the generous portions, and the "extras" that were included (salad, garlic toast, etc.), we feel that it was a good value.
