A fun breakfast/lunch with the family. The club sandwich was absolutely huge and my wife loved her omelette. My son got a burger and devoured it. The restaurant has a really cool 5060s diner vibe and the service was attentive. Super convenient off 79 on our way south for spring break! read more

30 minutes for 2 omelettes..the place was not busy on a Sunday. $2 extra for hashbrowns instead of home fries. The wait staff and place were nice enough.. but an overall disaster read more

We stopped in for breakfeast this past Sunday...fathers day and were seated in the booth immediately to the right of the front door. Admittedly the place was busy but after we got our coffee we settled in and ordered, nothing complicated just a late breakfeast. Eventually the ceiling started leaking directly over me dripping on me. ( I was told "sorry about that"). We were commited at this point we were a half an hour in, so we moved. After over an hour we still didnt have our food and I overheard the server talking to the kithcen that it was just a plain waffle and some pancakes. We still had over four hours to drive so we left at which point the waitress still billed me for our coffee which was bitter. I guess this review is more about the coffee since we never actually got to try the food. This place should be avoided if your in town. read more

So I came to djs diner today around 10:30, now mind you I'm on my way outta time and figured I'd get a quick bite, my server brought me my drink, and asked if I was ready or needed a minute, I said I needed a minute, well she gave me 20. keep in mind there is only 2 other customers in the whole place. I ordered and my drink was gone so I expected her to ask me if I needed a new one, nah that would be to easy, she brought the food out and I went to ask for a drink but she said hold on and walked away now she's been sitting on the phone, her personal phone for 40 minutes, still no drink, still shit service, and me sitting here waiting for my bill, this place has potential, the food came quick but it fucking sucks when it comes to this Particular waitress, oh and to add to it, she's on her phone bitching about her schedule. Sooo yeah thumbs down!! read more

Stayed at a nearby hotel, so we stopped for a quick breakfast. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door by a lively waitress. She accommodated all requests even brewing a me a pot of decaf because she wasn't "happy" with the pot that was there. Food choices were what you would expect in a classic diner. It arrived fast and hot. Everything was good. Bacon was great!! I would definitely come back here. Diner was cute. Food was good. Service was excellent. read more

Horrible. Food was extremely greasy and french toast was soggy. Don't waste your time or money.

Food was nice and served hot and fresh. The wait staff was friendly and efficient. Had a good amount of choices and don't miss the ice cream. read more

Service was excellent! Traditional Americana diner-style.food is the order of the day. Billiards, jukebox, and classic cars are all a feature here at DJ's. I loved the vibe. It felt like an authentic diner from the 50s. Best of all, the food lives up to the ambiance. I had the classic half pound burger with fries topped off by a chocolate milkshake that could easily double as dessert. The waitress was friendly and efficient and quick bringing us our orders. DJ's is going to be my go to anytime I am in the area. read more

Out of stock late weekday night: stuffed peppers. Still frozen: meat loaf. Waitress was sweet and apologetic , and gave us a 10 percent discount. Chicken Alfredo was the substitute and good. Veggie omelet was also good. Cute decor. read more

The food and service were so good on a Saturday evening that we came back for breakfast Sunday morning. My friend is a vegetarian and had no trouble finding something on the menu to satisfy her (fettuccine for dinner, and she ordered a la carte at breakfast). read more

I was driving south on I79 and saw this cute 50's style diner so pulled in for dinner and so glad I did. I loved the ambiance of the 50's with the booths and checkered floor. Brielle greeted me and brought my drink order - I then ordered apple pie a la mode (always eat dessert first!!), meatloaf and sides. I love they have breakfast all day! definitely going to come back and sample that! Waiting for my food was a pleasure, listening to great music and conversations around me. It was a happy atmosphere! The apple pie was wonderful! My food arrived hot and flavorful. I really enjoyed the meal. I recommend you stop in for a meal read more

Always had friendly staff, good pricing and overall a great experience. Definitely will be coming here a lot more while in town

Coming from NJ (diner capital of the world) I could be biased. Staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. Decor is cute, just not a fan of the digital jukebox. Only .3 off the highway a great place for any meal. We were there for dinner. No soup of the day, just chili Good flavor, fine ground beef and a few red kidney beans served in a coffee mug. Meatloaf was tasty but dry, needed gravy to revive it. Salad with grilled chicken was good. Chicken was moist. Only iceberg lettuce. Asked for lemon meringue but got a coconut cream meringue instead. Came to the table precut and wrapped in plastic. Certainly not a fancy place. Totally worth the cost as everything was reasonably priced. Would stop in for breakfast or lunch next time. read more

Service was impeccable! We arrived at DJ's because of a terrible experience at Cracker Barrel. We were just passing through near closing time of both restaurants. While the chain restaurant employees went out of their way to discourage us from eating, the staff at DJ's made sure we were fed well and had plenty of coffee for our long drive home. read more

Once upon a time I rated this buisness low, I have been there since and the improvement is fabulous. I highly recommend this buisness. The food is great, the waiters work their tails off. If you haven't ate here lately you need to go back. read more

Food was good, not great, but typical diner food. Prices were fair. The atmosphere was very nostalgic of the 50s and 60s. Old pictures all over the walls and red booth seats. They have coin machines and an old pinball machine to occupy the kids while you wait for food. It takes a while since the food is made to order. The only thing that would of made it better is that if they had the jukebox playing, but it was unplugged. I took off a star because of the $2.36 charge for using a card as payment. read more

This diner is average in every way. Good portions for the $$, but nothing stands out as outstanding from a food standpoint. If anything the biscuit gravy is bland, and the biscuits were hard as a rock. The bacon however was super crispy! The decor is nice and the Waite staff were super friendly. A solid 3 stars. That's all. read more

super cute place, really friendly staff and good service. food was also great for the price, nervy generous portions and good quality!

Beautiful diner and friendly staff. Ordered the James Dean sausage gravy biscuit and hashbrowns along with a small milk. The gravy had no sausage and tasted like raw flower. The hasbrowns were soggy so I sent them back for more crisp. Still no crisp. Milk was lukewarm. Its a shame to have such a beautiful diner and terrible cook. I ate one bite of each and asked for my check. I was never asked if there was a problem, like she knew the food was bad. read more

Dj's 50's & 60's Diner - Breakfast - Diners Near Me - Fairmont, West Virginia

This restaurant if that's the name you want to give it, has the absolute worst food I've ever eaten! The service is pretty good. They gotta work extra hard to make up for the taste of the food! I have eaten there on two separate occasions. The first was a couple years ago. That was enough to convince me to never eat there again. I had ordered the homestyle turkey dinner with the trimmings I guess so to say. But the green beans I received were like almost plastic. The mashed potatoes were instant. The turkey was rather good but it is kinda hard to mess it up. The second time was by mistake kinda . I told some friends about my past experience and they stayed at a near by motel. The only choice they had in close food was DJ's diner. So they ordered creamed chicken over biscuits. The biscuits were like lil pastry pucks. The green beans again were like plastic. The creamed chicken had peas and carrots in it. I didn't think peas and carrots came in creamed chicken but it was as though it came from a can. Ok maybe I'm just picky but in my mind, homestyle isn't instant or plastic. Also I don't think anyone likes a hard biscuit. But it amazes me as to the number of cars I see in this businesses parking lot. I guess that with inflation people don't care what their food tastes like either. They must be coming in because of the decor. They place really looks amazing from the high way. There really isn't allot of local license plates though. Not worth the money, to be purchasing what tastes like prefabbed food. read more

Well there was no warm and fuzzy greetings when we walked in with our kids. The boyfriend of one of the waitresses sitting at the counter was the only person in the restaurant. Our server was not very personable. She took our order and brought our food the bare minimum for service. We shared a club sandwich and chicken salad. The kids shared chicken fingers and fries with apple sauce. Nothing fresh. It was all out of a box or freezer. The place was empty (except for the boyfriend) and the ambiance was your typical wanna be 50's diner. As we were dining some locals came in and were greeted with an arousing welcoming party. In conclusion, I'd keep on driving the next time you're on route 79 and save you money for another place. There is a reason this place has a 3.5 star rating and I should've checked Yelp before stopping. read more

I went over here since it was right across the parking lot from my hotel. I'm glad I did. I walked in to grab something for carry out and was immediately greeted by smiling faces. Only reason I won't give it 5 stars is because I feel the prices are a little high, but other than that, I like it. read more

Super bummed. Ate here often as a kid and loved it, experience included! Was so fun. Came back today with my daughter (who has food allergies) and they were awful to work with. I asked for plain pasta (a safe bet anywhere) and it came out covered in butter. I, once again, explained the dairy allergy and she went to the kitchen.. came back 2 min later saying there was nothing they could do. That they "have" to cook the noodles in butter..? So my 3 year old daughter left hungry because they couldn't boil water and throw in spaghetti noodles. Would've even been ok if they acted sympathetic, but it was more of a "sorry, nothing we can do". We've been dealing with this allergy for over 3 years now and have always been accommodated. But they couldn't have cared less....... read more

What you would expect from a good diner! The food was great, and the milkshakes were great! I'm docking a star because the service was a little bit on the slower side, but our server was still attentive and friendly. The food was worth it, so I don't mind the longer wait, personally.
