Visited Cracker Barrel with a group of friends for our annual get-together. The head of our group phoned ahead to make sure we had a table set up for our arrival. When we got there, we waited for at least 15 minutes before we were seated. After we finally got to order, we waited for AN HOUR for our food to arrive! Our server was polite, but did not apologize for the long wait. Food was fine, but nothing spectacular. After lunch, I went to the front of the store to pay and the cashier was very rude. I will never understand how any business would allow someone with such a bad attitude and ineptness for dealing with the public to represent their restaurant. Overall, I left the restaurant feeling unhappy and unsatisfied. So my wife and I stopped here while traveling back to PA. It was 8:30 pm when we were seated. They close at 9. We each ordered coffees only to have the waitress come back and say that they had already dumped the pot and was told not to make anymore. We replied that we would leave then and find another restaurant. She replied ok. Wow. You're too inept to realize you just lost two dinner sales because you didn't want to make a pot of coffee?? I ordered online and was very sick and did curbside pick up. My order number 287926790 was supposed to be ready at 2:05. I finally had to go in twice to find out what happened to my order. It was given to someone else and had to be refired and I didn't receive my order until 3pm. The only compensation I received was an ice tea. I will never order from there again. We wanted carry out as we were traveling, stopped and the hostess was very accommodating and helpful. I regret we didn't get her name. We ordered cheeseburgers with no bun (we use low carb tortillas to cut the carbs) and no sides (options as usual were mostly carbs). Burgers were cooked perfectly, moist and delicious. They even tucked some condiments in as we ordered no ketchup. We made our sandwiches and were back on the road within 1/2 hour. I ordered spicy catfish with hbr, baby carrots, and a house salad. I got literally FIVE baby carrots, and my salad came out FIVE minutes AFTER my entree. My coworker and I stopped in for lunch last week while on a quick road trip. Hunter was our server and he provided excellent service. He was friendly and attentive and was always there when we needed something. The order came out accurate and we both had the sampler platter which comes with ham, meatloaf and chicken and dumplings. I have never been so disappointed in a meal ever. Spent the day driving and stopped for hot dinner. That was the first disappointment thinking the food would be hot. The appetizer came out with the meal and nothing was hot. Not even warm. Mac & cheese was cold, hash brown casserole was cold. I add bacon perfectly prepared and oh so delicious. then top it off with hashbrown casserole and a cornbread muffin! To start off, just want to say this is hopefully a one off. Saturday 8/5 My husband and I are renovating our kitchen, so cooking is out of the question. This Cracker Barrel is right next to our house so we eat here pretty often. We usually do the curbside pickup with no issue. Not this time. We put our order in, the order said it would be ready at 8:25. We pulled in 5 minutes early, checked in. 20 minutes go by and we check in again. Finally my husband calls in, they ask if our order is for Rachel? No, it is not. We give the girl on the phone our name for the order and she assures us that our order will be out soon. At 9:25, so an hour after our food was suppose to come out, my husband finally goes inside to see what the issue is. My husband finally came out, drinks in hand, manager in tow. Our food was ready, sitting on the counter. However nobody bothered to bring it out. The manager offered to remake the food, however we had already waited long enough. We popped into Fairmont on a roadtrip and had a late breakfast of pancakes and the Grandpa sampler. The food was good, service was quick. I am just surprised that for such a large, national brand they do not offer alternative milk for individuals who cannot have milk/cream with their coffee. A young girl manager or whatever she was walked towards him and he stepped back and said sorry am I'm in your way? She said nothing and just glared at him. He asked her twice if there was a problem? She finally said NO! Very rude and disrespectful. Wish I would have paid attention to her name tag because I surely would put her name out there. Her customer survive was horrible. Just picked up the absolute worst meal I've ever had in my life from here. Ordered haddock with corn, turnip greens and mashed potatoes. The prices were extremely reasonable. The portions are acceptable as well. I went with the vegetable platter ($7.69). I ordered the mixed greens salad, carrots, green beans, and broccoli. I also had a tomato, cucumber and onion salad. The platter came with 4 vegetable options. The tomato, cucumber, and onion salad was a side dish that some one at my table did not want. The mixed greens salad consisted of lettuce and I believe cucumbers. It was simple and all the ingredients were fresh. The carrots were fresh too. They had a sweet taste to them and were very good. The green beans contained little pieces of bacon in it. It was very flavorful. The broccoli seemed to be just steamed. Very few things in the kids toys were priced so you have to take your item to a cashier to get a price check. Cracker Barrel is typically a chain restaurant that is pretty solid regardless of location. We were disappointed by a recent visit here. They're under staffed, but that's everywhere now. Food was very mediocre. It arrived lukewarm and the gravy had a crust to it meaning it had set under heat lamps too long. Wow! What an amazing place to eat breakfast, lunch, dinner or dessert and coffee! Thoroughly enjoyed the big country hearth in the great-room! We stayed at a nearby hotel and this gem of a restaurant made our trip extraordinary! Service is outstanding, and we tried so many wonderful things on the menu. Some of our favorites turned out to be the Oatmeal Breakfast, with cinnamon, craisins, raisins, fried apples, and steel cut oats - served with a muffin - simply outstanding! The dinner salad and soup was another favorite, as well as the Pork Chop dinner, and my husband really enjoyed the chicken and dumplings, turkey and stuffing, as well as apple pie with ice cream! Absolutely D'Lysh! The country store has all those amazing little trinkets and gifts you want to take home to your friends and family, and lets not forget an old fashioned candy or gum for your travels! The mac & cheese had something that appeared to be burnt in it and when I questioned the waiter he said " that's where it didn't get stirred up" and if he brought me more it would look the same.
