Absolutely not! I wanted to love this place, loved the name and the location up on the hill but…read moredang, it was anything but enjoyable! I'm giving two stars for hubby's burger and our server/bartender, she seemed new and was friendly and nice. We sat at the bar so were served right away which is a plus, hard to ignore people right in front of you! The food and the manager are what ruined it for me. We started with the "World Famous" crab dip. I asked to sub the pretzels for tortilla chips due to gluten intolerance and was told the chips are made in house so may be cross contaminated in the oil. Looking forward to fresh chips I said no problem! Oh my, the chips were anything but fresh! Very stale, some actually chewy and most just bland and tasteless. No way the crab dip is famous, it was basically cheese with some canned crab tossed on top. Hubby's Spicy Jack burger was great, especially with the added smash patty from my burger! The smash burger is probably good as well, it was the gluten free hockey puck that completely ruined it for me. Yes, I told our server who then told the manager who then came to verify it was hard as a rock who then shook his head and walked away. The server was very apologetic and said she would take the $2.00 charge for the bun off our bill. Great, I'm okay with that! She didn't know how so here comes the manager again, hits some keys and hands us our tab. He put "DIDN'T LIKE", in caps, as the reason for the "Manager Comp". WHAT? Unacceptable!

When we got there, we were sat in good order and everything was quite nice. However, we realized…read morethere was going to be some interesting developments when the server came by and he seemed a little nervous, but that's understandable. In any case we placed our orders, I ordered the breakfast platter special, which was fried chicken and biscuits with country sausage gravy my wife ordered the eggs Benedict my daughter for her birthday ordered the French toast with two eggs and my son ordered the chicken and waffles. Talking first about the chicken and waffles. I've come to see that many locations offer chicken and waffles. This being about average for what I would consider chicken and waffles as it was a small filet cut in a half upon a very thin flat waffle, which would've done better to be a Belgian waffle with a much fluffier plump chicken filet. My son did enjoy it but when he finished it the server came by and he says did you enjoy that? Was it good, it must've been good because you ate everything! Then let's discuss my wife's eggs Benedict, which she thoroughly loved. However, the ham looked like it was sliced deli ham for a sandwich instead of Canadian bacon or a little thicker slice of country ham. It's not my call, as my wife said she enjoyed it. My daughter enjoyed her stuffed French toast and egg. Everything was cooked to her liking and she said it had a good flavor and of all four dishes that certainly was the best of the four. as for the last dish, my Sriracha sausage gravy, fried chicken and biscuit with home fries, the jury is still out as the home fries came out a little overdone and cold. The sausage gravy looks like somebody spread it on with a paintbrush, and it wasn't very warm. The chicken was warm and did taste good and the biscuit was good, but it made no sense when the server said, it comes smothered in sausage gravy. Take a look at the picture, and it looks more like a couple tablespoons of gravy on each biscuit with the chicken. We did have a good time and the ambience of the place was very nice, especially seated along the windows looking at the snow outside and perhaps we'll give it another shot at a later date. Overall, nothing over the top but nothing to make us fear coming back either. It was just kind of middle of the road, but I am glad that the nicest dish and the best presentation went to my daughter for her 20th birthday. At least that was a saving grace as well as the lunch with the movie, listening to the various antics and chatter coming from the server.

Unfortunately, we only received half of our order and had to share one entree and side. We ordered the B3 Mac and cheese, brisket handheld, house BLT and jalapeño cornbread for delivery. When our order arrived I was handed only the Mac and cheese and brisket sandwich. By the time our order got there the restaurant was already closed so we couldn't even call and get the missing items. Both the items we received were actually really good but we were disappointed that half our order was missing. The sandwich had balsamic onions, Swiss and horsey sauce and was very tasty. The fries that came with the sandwich were seasoned well and also really good. The Mac and cheese was creamy and had a nice amount of bacon. I'd love to give them another shot the next time we're in the area since the food was good. Hopefully we'll get to try the cornbread next time.

Lucky for us, Thomas waited on us. To be honest, we didn't expect the level of service we received. The first thing we noticed was how how busy he was with getting drinks and taking care of tables, and at first we expected the same subpar service we seem to find more and more these days. Then he stopped, made sure we were taken care of and made sure we had the information we needed to consider our food choices, and to just make sure we felt a little bit special. In addition, he was just super friendly. After our food came, delivered by an equally friendly Brandon, in between our own converation we noted how Thomas made sure drink orders were correct, discussing them quickly with the wait staff, making sure they were made to their satisfaction. That was pretty impressive. I would like to note our food was very good, our drinks were excellent, and the atmosphere was just as we expected. We sincerely want to give kudos to the the restaurant and to Thomas for making a quick ''break' an enjoyable and unexpected pleasure. It was a nice change.
