I was house hunting in the area and stopped into Walzzys Hotdogs for a bite and glad I did. It's a small, cozy place decorated with lots of memorabilia I enjoyed checking out. The woman behind the counter was warm and welcoming with a big smile. I ordered a hot dog, fries and drink. The hot dog was great and the fries were delicious - just the way I like them! Stumbled upon this yummy place when we were rescuing dogs. Now every time I am in the area I have to stop by. I feel like Guy Fieri should stop by and have them on Diners, Drive-ins, and dives. I am a huge fan of fresh cut fries. I don't know what they do to them but OMG are they delicious. You don't need anything to dip them in they are so tasty. Now to the hot dogs, They have the most unexpected combinations. I have only tried four of them so far and have loved everyone of them. I had the Walzzy dog today, it was delicious. I also had the hangover dog. It had egg, chili and some other things on it. Sooo good. We also had a side salad which doesn't sound all that good but it was also delicious. Sherry is the sweetest most hospitable host. Immediately walking in the diner has a charm that is unforgettable, what stood out most the hand drawn chalk menu on the wall above the kitchen. The hot dogs were fantastic and while I ate sherry showed true compassion for who I was and where I came from, at one point she gave me a free sugar cookie straight out of the oven. I live 2 hours away but I'm hoping to make it out to Walzzy's once a year because the service is THAT good. read more

Don't waste your time going to Walzzy's Hotdogs Not only do they not answer their phone, when I went in there tonight there was no employees to be found, the couple that was leaving said they don't know where they went, I called out that I'd like to order and waited 10 minutes and no one showed. Great addition to Cheat Lake, I am especially fond of there daily/weekly specials and adding breakfast. Every visit we are greeted by employees and the food is good, fair price. Stopped in for lunch on a trip to Morgantown. The Walzzy dog is fantastic. The fries are fresh cut and cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is that of an old fashioned diner. I finally took the time to drive out to the Lake to try a Walzzy Dog. Worth the time for my first trip - which has inspired more trips in my future. I love Hot Dogs and they have many options from which to choose - but I alway stick with a standard, Chilli, Mustard, Onions. There are 3 types of sauce to choose from by level of heat and I picked medium. It had a nice kick, just right. Fries were good with the house seasoning. I was not a fan of the corn, but it is also winter time, so it gets another chance this summer. The people were very nice and helpful. It's good because it's a new place in this area. But... if you just get one of their 'normal' hot dogs you're not going to get anything more than Hometown Hotdogs (which is fine but not worth what they charge). You'll have to get their 'specials' which cost more (but you sort of get what you pay for in this situation). One dog is $5-6, which to me is too expensive, but again, there is no where out here eat. read more
