Would not go there again. We went on a Saturday afternoon. It was busy and short staffed. I got a small salad which was worth it, but after ordering we waited more than an hour and never got any food or an apology from the waitress. Can't think of anything good to say. The cushions in the booth were shot and you had to sit in a hole or on springs. I moved to a chair and it was just as bad. They need to get some new seats. Seemed clean enough, but I didn't use the restrooms. Sad emoji. read more

We came here to start our night in Morgantown and had a great time. It is a small location and pretty cramped, if you have tall or bigger people in your group you'll have a hard time fitting in the booths. Service was quick and reliable. We all got fish bowls and they came often and were awesome. Even the food here is great, we enjoyed the crispy wings and the BLT. I'd love to come back to try more things! read more

We come here often. on 4/28/25 we ordered a fish sandwich and their home cooked chips and a BLT on multigrain bread with the same chips. the chips were over cooked and burnt. I asked for new ones for both of us and my BLT was on white bread. I asked to have my order just taken off the bill. the girl (possibly manager, not our waitress) said she would take care of the bill and just told us to leave..WTH? we were in total shock! we left and the poor waitress didn't even know. Whilst I would normally give this spot 3 stars, I have to give it 4 for the jovial atmosphere! Our waitress was just amazing - on the spot when we needed her and taking care of everyone - a genuine person with a great smile! We came for the fishbowl beer as my hubby went to grad school at WVU yet had not heard of the place :O We also got the salsa which was fun to eat, and enjoyed watching the young men play the game of tossing quarters in the jar at the bar. At a friend's recommendation, we stopped by Mario's when driving through Morgantown - and I can't wait to go back! We arrived at 2pm on a Monday in August before school started back up. It was relatively quiet, a handful of other patrons at the restaurant. We ordered beer, chili fries, and 8 cowboy ranch wings. What is cowboy ranch? It's a mix of ranch and buffalo sauce - delicious. The wings were super meaty and perfectly cooked/sauced! The chili fries were pretty good - nothing to write home about but not upset that we got them. The beers though... the beers are served in a "fishbowl" chalice pint glass that is ICE cold. It was amazing. The service was a bit slow for the number of patrons there and the price was a little high for the overall environment, I think. I will happily be back and there is lots of parking around the restaurant! read more

I returned to Mario's the other day, and all of my fondest memories of college came back in a frosty Fishbowl. It really is like stepping back in time, and as classic Morgantown bars (Sunnyside) seem to disappear, Mario's Fishbowl stands as an oasis of good food, good drink, and good nostalgia. Having spent more time downing fishbowls in my college days than wolfing down burgers, I wasn't all that familiar with Mario's menu. However, my waitress Kim soon steered me toward an epic taste treat, the steak stacker. This meaty bad boy is nothing short of a carnivore' delight. This savory sandwich delivered a load chopped steak simply swimming it cheesy goodness..and of course, the Texas Toast didn't hurt to drive its deliciousness home. Several fishbowls later and some Mario's swag--can't wait to wear my Mario's Saint Patty's day T-Shirt--and off on my way. The original fishbowl is only offering outdoor seating which is limited. Every time I have gone during COVID I have always had to wait. You have to go in to put your name on the list, no call ahead. It is worth the wait, the food is good with the wings being their specialty (cowboy ranch). A large beer selections served in an ice cold fish bowl glass! The ambiance outside is perfect with hanging lights, multiple TVs, and shack style bar. read more

I used to love this place, but the daytime staff and even some of the afternoon shifts they get more involved with other tables besides their own and they don't pay attention to the food coming out. My fries were ice cold and the chilli on it was even worse. It took them 35 minutes to get drinks for a second round and when we went to get someone's attention for that they were snippy with us. So we just paid and left. Definitely not the same place as when the original owners had it. read more

Food is way too expensive and takes 40-50 minutes to be prepared. Additionally, portions are incredibly small in that the average male could eat 2 meals (which would cost over 23 dollars). my boyfriend and i come here all the time, we love the food and the service is usually amazing. tonight however, my boyfriend received a raw burger. he ordered medium rare, we know there's going to be pink in it. we are not stupid. but when telling our server his burger was raw, she asked if he wanted a new one which we thought was good enough. but when she didn't even take the plate away from him and asked him if he wanted it medium this time instead of medium rare (as if she thinks he's stupid and ordered the wrong thing). obviously she didn't believe us. maybe if you took the plate and looked at it! i'm a server myself, and this situation was handled horribly. i gave her my card and she just smacked the bill back down and didn't say a word. he even threw up in the bathroom twice after eating. we were both nice. said please and thank you. he didn't ask for a replacement in a rude way at all. and it was still on my bill. not a single apology was given to us. so disappointed to see this from a small business we used to love going to. won't be back to this location. read more

Significant other used to live in the area so was told had to go. The wings absolutely did not disappoint. Cowboy ranch is definitely the move to go and the blue cheese is delicious. Had one of the multitude of steak sandwiches and would definitely get them again. So many enticing items on the menu so would love to come back as she is an alum for football games. The kicker is definitely the large goblets of beer. Frosty, icy, cold, refreshing, etc etc. Could definitely spend an entire saturday posted up for football games or a sunday for NFL games.
