This was my first time here tonight. It was very easy to order and they have weekly specials. I got weekly special and I am so disappointed I did not take a picture of my food. I was way too hungry. This establishment has been around Morgantown for a long time, I remember in highschool venturing down to the old high street location after classes. Still true to all those years ago black bear holds a special place in my heart and it gives me joy to see them thriving at a much larger location. Arrived before a Medical Appointment, with time to spare. Arrived at 11:05 which was right on time to relax. Our picks from the menu were Fish Tacos and Shrimp Tacos. The food did not disappoint, very tasty and well portioned. Our drinks choices were water and my spouse had the Blueberry Burst Cider. In town for Geowoodstock. Had never been to area so trying to find local spots. You go in and place order in line. Burritos are the main stay. 1. Husband - Sgt Pepper Burritto said "he wished it was better mixed together" he would get a bite and it was all rice, all beans, etc. but they are huge burritos and do not fall apart. 2. Kid did burritto as build her own. But basically thought same thing. Yummy, huge, just wished it was more balanced out so you could get all the flavors at once. 3. I did build your own. Same review. Siracha refried beans were hot for me. But hubby says I am a baby with food heat. chips were very good. Think queso is overrated. Was staying in Morgantown for the night on a road trip, and the concierge recommended the Black Bear. Ended up settling on the Rail Trail quesadilla, and it is by far the best one I have ever had. Coincidentally, it is also the only quesadilla where I have had no option but to eat it with a fork and knife. The service was great as well. Everyone was super friendly, and I was probably in and out in 30 minutes. All around great experience, and I would honestly consider tacking on 30 minutes to hour onto a road trip just to stop here for lunch. read more

The food is fine. Nothing special. Run-of-the-mill flavors. Smallish selection. The service is good--everyone is friendly and helpful. The location is huge, so it feels a bit like a high school cafeteria. The seats are super uncomfortable with oddly small seating surface area. read more

We had a party of over 30 in the room just off their main dining area and they went out of their way to accommodate us. Their catering trays were a hit for ages 5 through 75 years old. This is our favorite place to go when in Morgantown and it was great to be able to have our son's party there. Love the Irie Member and the Thai bowl in particular, but I've never had anything bad here! Their specials are always killer, the jicama is SUCH a cool touch, and one of the servers told me they have the best tofu in town. I can't argue there. Fast casual ambiance - walk up and order, they bring it out to you. I'm usually here for takeout so I haven't checked out the drink selections, but recommend the food to everyone. Walked in on a Friday evening. Cashier was friendly. I opted to build my own burrito. (Maybe this was my fault for mixing too many ingredients). Took about 20 min to get my food. The burrito was massive. Enough food for the price i paid. However, i'm not sure if it was the blend of vegetables and guacamole and sour cream that made the meat cold? Not a good taste. Perhaps it wasn't hot enough to begin with and got even cooler with other ingredients. I added sriracha refried beans and they had good flavor. I didn't really like the rice or cole slaw. Chips and salsa were good. It wasn't too busy in there with plenty of seating. There was a big reunion or something so it can get loud but it didn't bother me. Menu looked good, and that attracted us to drVe a few miles off the interstate to try. Pros: Big place, queso dip was tasty, many types of wraps and burritos to choose from. Staff was great. Cons: poor signage , had to figure out yourself that there were now wait staff; you have to order from a counter, and get your own fountain drinks, and wanted a tip? Staff brought out your food afterwards. Is this a sit down place or a fast-casual place like Five Guys? Food just wasn't great, there was more lettuce and celery 'filler' in the wraps than meat. Summary: I admit I expected more than I experienced today. I do not like to give low reviews, the staff obviously works hard and I imagine the place is busy on the weekends.
