I will start off by saying I went in with high hopes and thoroughly expected to love my visit to this restaurant. I soooo wanted to give a better rating to a smaller, locally owned business, but my conscience will not allow it. My husband and I came in this past Friday for lunch, and the beginning of our visit was pleasant- we ordered 10 wings, and the waitress offered to let us get 5 of one flavor and 5 of another. We ordered them extra crispy, and got half Sweet Thai Chili, half Spicy Ranch dry rub- both excellent! Perfect crunch and flavor on the wings- would definitely order again. Then we ordered a couple of other items to share, and neither were anything to write home about, unfortunately- the nachos I would absolutely skip next time. They came with the cheap round tortilla chips and goopy, thick cheese sauce you get when you order nachos at the movie theater. You could tell they were trying to be creative with the toppings, which I appreciate, but there wasn't much flavor at all. The other item we ordered was the Billion Dollar Burger. I will say again that I definitely appreciate the thought that went into creating this menu- you could tell the owners are trying to be inventive and bring new flavors to a town in which those might not normally be available. However, the execution was lacking....the mushroom sauce did not have a lot of flavor, and instead of "microgreens" like the menu stated, the burger came with salad greens on top (nothing wrong with that; it was just unexpected). I am sure if we ordered another burger we would have liked it better, because the waitress assured us the beef is never frozen, and the patties looked to be a good size and have a nice crust to them. In terms of ambiance, it is more of a hole-in-the-wall find. There was only one other table with people when we arrived, and the two employees were chatting in the kitchen, which you could hear clearly because it is a smaller space. Despite it not being visibly busy, the other tables seemed still to have crumbs on them, and my husband and I had to wipe off our own table before sitting down. Again, I hope this does not come off as being rude or prissy- I wanted to like this place so badly and would be open to trying it again in the future. I love a good dive spot for burgers! However, in JAG's case, I think a little more seasoning in the food and running a tighter ship in terms of cleanliness and service could go a long way. read more

We decided to eat dinner at JAG Beer Burger Bowery since the previous reviews were good and it was close. when we entered it was a bit early for dinner so there we're several tables available to accommodate us and we decided on a booth. Our server Katie promptly came over to take our drink order and answer any questions related to the menu choices. Burgers fries and onion rings all of which were hand made items of high quality and were delicious. Katie was helpful and entertaining throughout our visit. When we first ordered to go, the prices seemed a little high but when you see the size of the burgers and the portions of the sides you understand the cost. The onion rings are Large. The crust is super crispy, in the onions are very sweet, just perfect I ordered the Soprano burger with added bacon which with 2 large patties is huge I thought it was good but I'm obviously not a fan of mixed beef and sausage in my burgers. The wife ordered the Our Kind of Burger with add it bacon. She was not happy with the flavor and thought that the meat might be bad. Best burger I have ever had! It is a little funky place off the main drag in Fairmont. Great nostalgia. The burger, Our Kinda Burger, was beyond delicious. Came as a double so unless you are really hungry, you may want the single. Burger tasted like it was grilled on a bbq grille. Loaded with mushrooms, onions, and more. The food is fantastic. I ordered a monster burger thinking "it should be big enough". It was way too much for me to eat. Myself, my wife, and my friends were all there and we had a fantastic time. Even one of my friends from California came with us and loved it. The seating inside is small, but the food and the service are both great! I ordered a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich with no jalapenos. The sandwich had hot peppers on it and was no edible. The menu has "peppers" listed for this sandwich and "wax peppers" listed for every sandwich with hot peppers. When I called the store to tell them what happened, it seemed humorous to them, and the "resolution" was "Sorry, lots of people make that mistake. We should probably update the menu". Yes, you should have updated the menu before I paid $10.95 +tax and tip for an inedible sandwich. "Peppers" on a Philly cheesesteak generally refers to bell peppers. Spicy food is generally identified on a menu. This is especially true when "wax peppers" or "jalapeno peppers" are specifically referenced elsewhere on the menu. We were in the area visiting Valley Falls. My son wanted a burger so we looked up burger places on Yelp. JAG Burger came up with lots of potential. It is behind the laundromat so we almost missed it. The burgers are huge. The signature ones have double burgers. We all tried something different and we all thought they were delicious. I ordered the food at 8:00 pm, said it was supposed to be ready at 8:30 pm but wasn't due to several door dash orders coming in, which I understood. No big deal. Waited till 8:45 pm for my food. Get home, everything seems to be okay until we realize there was no ranch for the fried mushrooms we ordered. Again no big deal, we have ranch at home. Then we open the burgers. My burger was just as ordered; my boyfriends burger was not. He ordered the Bowery burger which is supposed to have two patties, fried hots, cheese, lettuce, tomato and Mayo.
