I will start off by saying I went in with high hopes and thoroughly expected to love my visit to…read morethis restaurant. I soooo wanted to give a better rating to a smaller, locally owned business, but my conscience will not allow it. My husband and I came in this past Friday for lunch, and the beginning of our visit was pleasant- we ordered 10 wings, and the waitress offered to let us get 5 of one flavor and 5 of another. We ordered them extra crispy, and got half Sweet Thai Chili, half Spicy Ranch dry rub- both excellent! Perfect crunch and flavor on the wings- would definitely order again. Then we ordered a couple of other items to share, and neither were anything to write home about, unfortunately- the nachos I would absolutely skip next time. They came with the cheap round tortilla chips and goopy, thick cheese sauce you get when you order nachos at the movie theater. You could tell they were trying to be creative with the toppings, which I appreciate, but there wasn't much flavor at all. The other item we ordered was the Billion Dollar Burger. I will say again that I definitely appreciate the thought that went into creating this menu- you could tell the owners are trying to be inventive and bring new flavors to a town in which those might not normally be available. However, the execution was lacking....the mushroom sauce did not have a lot of flavor, and instead of "microgreens" like the menu stated, the burger came with salad greens on top (nothing wrong with that; it was just unexpected). I am sure if we ordered another burger we would have liked it better, because the waitress assured us the beef is never frozen, and the patties looked to be a good size and have a nice crust to them. In terms of ambiance, it is more of a hole-in-the-wall find. There was only one other table with people when we arrived, and the two employees were chatting in the kitchen, which you could hear clearly because it is a smaller space. Despite it not being visibly busy, the other tables seemed still to have crumbs on them, and my husband and I had to wipe off our own table before sitting down. Again, I hope this does not come off as being rude or prissy- I wanted to like this place so badly and would be open to trying it again in the future. I love a good dive spot for burgers! However, in JAG's case, I think a little more seasoning in the food and running a tighter ship in terms of cleanliness and service could go a long way.

It is little rally a hole in the wall, the entrance is between a restaurant and a boarded up building, you'd have no idea the amazing place inside. It has a bunch of table, plus some couches and larger chairs, books to read, cheese boards, and a couple of high top tables. We stopped in on a Saturday morning, and got some tea, cold brew coffee, and latte, plus a huge cinnamon bun and French toast muffin. Looking at the lunch menu we are going to come back to try lunch, because last weeks list looked amazing. Because we hit it in the morning I'll have to check in again about the beer and pottery aspect. This is the type of place I really would love to see succeed in Fairmont, they are doing a great job!

Girl (name starts with J/has nose ring) comes out from behind the bar to let us know they have a 10-15 minute wait and offers to "take my name and number." I said no need for a number, we will wait inside in the corner. I'm told that's not an option and that we must leave. Standing in the corner where three unused tables is not permitted? Inviting us to wait at the bar and sell us three drinks (an easy additional $30+) isn't offered? Seems like a pretty bad way to run a business.

Also the steak is covered in a red chimichurri sauce... green maybe but really no, ask for sauce on side. I was looking for classic steak frites shallots, butter, garlic parsley and a bit of worcestershire. The frites had a spice on them which didn't mesh with the chimichurri and again, go classic, Hot skinny fries with salt and parsley. We are still coming back to try the rest of the menu..... He also had solid dinner recommendations and was super nice and welcoming to our family (including 2 kids under 5). Job well done. Of course, great service means nothing if the food doesn't back it up, and thankfully it did. I really enjoyed my steak pasta; my wife enjoyed her soup, and the kids ate their chicken tenders (for what that's worth). My 5 year old didn't love her kids mac & cheese (was penne pasta) but I did enough to eat half there and bring the rest home as leftovers. Awesome dinner. Thank you again Daniel!
